In the current digital information environment, a well-defined e-platform is required to organize, store, retrieve and disseminate of information efficiently—the web portal facilitates users to access a wide range of web-based information resources. Here, an attempt has been made to create awareness about Uttar Pradesh higher education digital library portal. This study was conducted to the analysis of Uttar Pradesh higher education digital library portal and the findings of the study are that Uttar Pradesh higher education digital library has more than 70,000 e-contents available in different streams and students of higher-level educational institutions are taking advantage of it. The notes and educational contents of the best teachers of the Uttar Pradesh state are accessible to every student without cost. This digital library portal is a godsend for those students who do not have access to the contents of an uninterrupted internet connection in this age of online learning. They can use this to download study material at their leisure

Non-invasive oral cancer detection from saliva using zinc oxide-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite based bioelectrode

    Get PDF
Multifunctional materials with excellent biocompatibility and electron-transport properties are critical for the pursuit of point-of-care biosensing devices. The authors report the synthesis of zinc oxide-reduced graphene oxide (ZnO-rGO) nanocomposite for the fabrication of an electrochemical immunosensing test-bed for noninvasive onsite detection of oral cancer biomarker (interleukin-8, IL8). The immunosensor showed successful detection of IL8 at low concentration ranges, i.e., 100 fg/mL-5 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 12.46 +/- 0.82 mu A mL/ng and a detection limit of 51.53 +/- 0.43 pg/mL. These results have been validated through in vitro investigations using real saliva samples spiked with IL8

Electronic resources are becoming increasingly popular as a result of their benefits and advantages. Libraries are subscribing to electronic resources for their users and spending a lot of money on it. It is vital to assess user attitudes regarding e-resources. This article investigates user knowledge and perceptions of e-resources accessible at the Gautam Buddha Central Library, BBAU, Lucknow. This study is an attempt to investigate user awareness of e-resources, user frequency of access to e-resources, user perception towards use of e- electronic, purpose of users to use it, problem encountered by users in accessing e-resources, its importance in study and research, and so on

Accessibility is an important aspect in this IT era for updated information for every individual with a disability as well. They also have an equal right to access the contents available online. Thus, web developers should follow the universally accepted guidelines to develop the web pages reachable for everyone. Websites that are not complying with WCAG 2.0 guidelines are very difficult to access by the disabled users. This evaluation is an attempt to analyze the accessibility of the websites of the National Institutes under the DEPWD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment under the different priority level of WCAG2.0. Evaluation of the websites has been done by automatic web accessibility evaluation tool WAVE and AChecker

    Get PDF
The main aim of the study is to review the literature related to the use of emerging technologies by university libraries. The primary objective of the study was to examine the core literature related to emerging technologies used in the university libraries and to find out the changing role of the university librarians in these technologically equipped modern libraries. The study also focuses on the attitude of library professionals towards this modern environment. The findings of the study are based upon four themes, they are: “status of emerging technologies in the university libraries”, “attitude of librarians towards the emerging technologies”, “technological compatibility among the professionals of the libraries” and “barriers in the implementation of emerging technologies”. Nevertheless, if there have been much researches performed at university libraries on emerging technologies, this study is obviously primarily aimed at improving understanding of these expanding technologies by the library and information sciences profession

Background: Neurocysticercosis (NCC) is perhaps the most common parasitic infection of human nervous system. The objective of this study was to study the spectrum of clinical, socio-demographic profile and treatment outcome of 60 paediatric neurocysticercosis cases over a mean duration of two years from September 2006-August 2008.Methods: Diagnosis was made mainly on the basis of clinical features, ring enhancing lesions on Computed Tomography scan of brain and exclusion of other causes. Patients were treated with Albendazole for 28 days, Prednisolone and anticonvulsant. Results: 10-14 years was the most affected age group with no sex predilection. Seizure was the most common initial presentation (86.66%) followed by headache and vomiting. Generalized tonic clonic seizure was the most common type of seizure. Four patients returned with relapse. Conclusions: Neurocysticercosis is a disease of lower socioeconomic group with poor sanitation and poor hand hygiene. Generalized tonic clonic seizure is the main presentation. Anticysticercal therapy has a good outcome

Background: Frozen shoulder is debilitating condition marked by progressive shoulder pain and restricted mobility, affecting sleep and activities of daily living of a person. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of USG guided suprascapular nerve block aided mobilization physiotherapy for management of frozen shoulder so as to improve the quality of living of patients. Methods: This prospective interventional study was conducted at the Department of Orthopaedics of a teaching institute of Central India from January 2021 to April 2023 after obtaining ethical clearance. Patients diagnosed with frozen shoulder and giving written consent were included in this study after considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Baseline demographics, symptom duration, degree of active and passive shoulder range of movement, Shoulder pain and disability index (SPADI) score were documented on day of presentation (preintervention) after which USG guided suprascapular nerve block was given. Post SSNB, 10 sessions of supervised mobilization physiotherapy was given. SPADI scores and degree of active and passive range of movement were noted at 3rd, 6th and 12th week and compared using statistical tests namely repeated measure ANOVA and chi square test of independence. Results: A total of 54 patients enrolled in the study after meeting inclusion criteria, only 46 completed the follow up and their mean SPADI pain score and mean SPADI disability score at presentation significantly reduced at 12 weeks post intervention. Range of flexion, abduction and external rotation of shoulder also showed significant increase (p value<0.05). Number of participants with severe restriction of shoulder internal rotation also decreased after SSNB aided physiotherapy. Conclusions: USG guided suprascapular nerve block aided physiotherapy exercise schedule is a safe and effective outpatient treatment for frozen shoulder providing early pain relief and improving shoulder mobility

Composite conchal loss from Bluetooth headset device: An interesting case report

    Get PDF
It is a well-known fact that talking on the phone while driving increases the risk of an accident. Bluetooth headset provides simple and uncomplicated route to hands-free communication. While driving, the use of hands-free phone devices such as earpieces and Bluetooth headset is equally as dangerous as talking on a cell phone normally. Here, we are reporting a very unique case of a 25-year-old male who sustained severe ear injury (full-thickness conchal defect of the size of earpiece of Bluetooth headset device; a very unusual mechanism of injury) in a road traffic accident while wearing a Bluetooth headset device. Two-stage repair was done using a retroauricular flap for full-thickness conchal defect. The post-operative cosmetic outcome achieved by this technique was satisfactory
