Synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial and cytotoxic studies of a novel vanadium dodecylamino phosphate
AbstractA novel vanadium dodecylamino phosphate was synthesized by mixing phosphoric acid and vanadyl acetylacetonate with dodecylamine at ambient temperature. The material was characterized by various spectroscopic and analytical techniques to know its morphological and structural characteristics. The biological activity of the material toward antimicrobial, nematicidal, DNA cleavage and cytotoxicity has been screened. The material exhibits moderate to good antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. The percentage mortality on Meloidogyne incognita nematode was found to increase with increase in concentration of VDDAP at 48h. Further, the material was investigated for cytotoxicity on human cancer cell lines such as cervix (HeLa), leukemia (HL60) and breast (MCF7). The cells were dosed with varying concentrations of the VDDAP and cell viability was measured by sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay to determine their GI50 values. Interestingly, the compound shows GI50 values of 25.4μgmL−1 (HeLa), 29.1μgmL−1 (MCF7) and a superior value of 11.6μgmL−1 (HL60) respectively. The DNA cleavage activity of the material was investigated using agarose gel electrophoresis
Synthesis of high silica content silicoaluminophosphate-5 (SAPO-5) from non-aqueous medium using hexamethyleneimine template
509-514Silicoaluminophosphate–5 (SAPO-5) molecular sieve with up to 2.4 Si atom per unit cell have been synthesized using hexamethyleneimine template in ethylene glycol medium (molar ratio of silica in the reaction gels up to 0.3). Crystallinity and silicon incorporation are confirmed by XRD, XRF, N2 sorption study, TG/DTA, SEM, pyridine TPD technique and hydroxyl region FT-IR. These materials with high Si concentration show higher activity for toluene alkylation reaction than samples prepared with up to 0.1 molar ratio of silica in the gel of aqueous media
Synthesis and characterization of AlPO4-n molecular sieves from hexamethyleneimine template
2223-2230Aluminophosphates
AlPO4-5, AlPO4-16, AlPO4-22, AlPO4-31,
SAPO-35 and AlPO4-L have been synthesized using hexamethyleneimine
template, by a procedure different from the standard one. Gel composition Al2O3
: P2O5 : 1. 16HEM:45H2O at 24h, 473K are the standard
reaction conditions for synthesis of AlPO4-5. To this, addition of excess
template(1.35 M) leads to AlPO4-22. Changing the aluminium
source from catapal - B to aluminium isopropoxide gives AlPO4-16.Aging
for 8 h at room temperature with nonaqueous gel and stirring leads to AlPO4-31.
Addition of 0.3 M SiO2 to nonaqueous
AlPO gel gives
SAPO-35. The aluminophosphates have been characterized by elemental analysis, XRD,
SEM, FTIR, TG/DTA, and 13C MAS NMR techniques. Elemental analysis shows
that Al and P are in equi-molar composition. XRD analysis shows that the synthesized
samples are highly crystalline. SEM shows the morphology change with structure.TG/DTA
analysis reveals the presence of maximum five stage elimination of templates. Carbon
and nitrogen analysis gives the number of templates present in a unit cell of
the molecular sieves. 13C NMR analysis shows the interaction of template
with structure of the framework
Synthesis and characterization of a novel composite macroporous titanoaluminophosphate molecular sieve, NCL-9
2315-2319A novel composite macroporous
titanoaluminophosphate molecular sieve, NCL-9, is synthesized and
characterised. XRD, TEM and surface area analysis show the presence of
macroporous regions along with other porous regions. However, on heating the microporous
region is converted to dense phases, which may be avoided by H2O2
treatment. SEM analysis shows the sample present as flags with 30 × 15 μm
particle size. TG/DTA shows 35.38% weight loss which is confirmed by C and N
analysis. FTIR spectra show bands similar to other known aluminophosphates. A
band at 916 cm-1 for Al-O-Ti bond is observed. UV-vis and XPS data
show the presence of Ti in tetrahedral co-ordination. 27Al and 31P
MAS NMR spectra show characteristic peaks for tetrahedral coordination, along
with a small amount of octahedral aluminium
Influence of template on synthesis and characterization of novel mesoporous
1823-1825A new method is reported for the synthesis of mesoporous silica nanosphere using ultrasonic method. Characterization reveals that the material is mesoporous with a small particle size. The template method gives spherical samples; uniform particle size is obtained when n-octylamine is used. Three stage weight loss occurs in cetyltrimethylammonium bromide samples, while the other templates show two stage weight loss. Amorphous and mesoporous silica samples have identical infrared spectra. The as-synthesized sample shows type II nitrogen adsorption curve, while the calcined samples show type IV adsorption curves
Synthesis and characterization of a novel lamellar type aluminosilicate molecular sieves, NCL-5
2514-2517A novel lamellar type aluminosilicate molecular
sieve, NCL-5 has been synthesized and characterized using various physicochemical
techniques such as XRD, SEM. TG/DTA, Fr-IR and MAS NMR. The results have been
compared with SiMCM-41 sample synthesized using the same template (cetyltrimethyl
ammonium bromide). XRD analysis shows that NCL-
5 is a novel short range ordered aluminosilicate.
SEM shows that it is nanocrystalline with phase purity. TG/DTA analysis shows that
the NCL-5 sample oxidatively decomposes the occluded template in a single step while
Si-MCM-41 oxidatively decomposes in two different steps. This may due to the nanocrystallinity
of the former sample. Aluminium MAS NMR shows the presence of maximum octahedral
co-ordinated aluminium in NCL-5 sample while silicon NMR shows the presence of three
different types of silicon
