    Buscamos focar com este trabalho a importância da educação como fator de desenvolvimento das sociedades em geral, como alicerce até mesmo das demais instituições que constituem os organismos sociais, observando que, quanto mais elevados os níveis de ensino formal e informal, quanto maior e mais completa a educação de forma integral e a cultura em geral de todos os seus membros, mais desenvolvidos e com maior crescimento econômico e social são os países, com conseqüente melhor nível de vida de seus habitantes e mais amplo conhecimento e exercício efetivo de seus direitos. E, com a finalidade de se garantir também a inserção social de pessoas portadoras de deficiências, especialmente em nosso País, objetivando que sejam melhor aceitas pelos demais membros do corpo social, mister se faz que lhes seja proporcionada qualificação para o trabalho através da educação, em especial o Ensino Superior, a fim de lhes garantir a produção de seu sustento de forma adequada às suas necessidades e o conseqüente exercício da cidadania com o cumprimento do Princípio da Dignidade da Pessoa Humana. Analisamos, então, o Direito Fundamental à Educação da pessoa portadora de deficiência em relação ao ordenamento jurídico pátrio, face à variada legislação internacional a que nosso País se vincula, especialmente, no que se refere ao Ensino Superior do deficiente ou “portador de necessidades especiais”, para sua aceitação e inclusão social

    HRIC (High Resolution Imaging Channel) is the high resolution channel of the SIMBIO-SYS instrument on- board the ESA BepiColombo Mission. Calibration activities were performed at SelexES premises in spring- summer 2014 in order to check for Channel performances (radiometric performances, quality image and geometrical performances) and to obtain data necessary to setup a calibration pipeline necessary to process the raw images acquired by the channel when in operative scenario

    Genomic and clinical findings in myeloid neoplasms with PDGFRB rearrangement

    Platelet-derived growth factor receptor B (PDGFRB) gene rearrangements define a unique subgroup of myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms frequently associated with eosinophilia and characterized by high sensitivity to tyrosine kinase inhibition. To date, various PDGFRB/5q32 rearrangements, involving at least 40 fusion partners, have been reported. However, information on genomic and clinical features accompanying rearrangements of PDGFRB is still scarce. Here, we characterized a series of 14 cases with a myeloid neoplasm using cytogenetic, single nucleotide polymorphism array, and next-generation sequencing. We identified nine PDGFRB translocation partners, including the KAZN gene at 1p36.21 as a novel partner in a previously undescribed t(1;5)(p36;q33) chromosome change. In all cases, the PDGFRB recombination was the sole cytogenetic abnormality underlying the phenotype. Acquired somatic variants were mainly found in clinically aggressive diseases and involved epigenetic genes (TET2, DNMT3A, ASXL1), transcription factors (RUNX1 and CEBPA), and signaling modulators (HRAS). By using both cytogenetic and nested PCR monitoring to evaluate response to imatinib, we found that, in non-AML cases, a low dosage (100–200 mg) is sufficient to induce and maintain longstanding hematological, cytogenetic, and molecular remissions

    The afocal telescope optical design and tolerance analysis for the ESA ARIEL mission

    ARIEL (Atmospheric Remote-sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large-survey) is one of the three present candidates for the next ESA medium-class science mission (M4) to be launched in 2026. During its 3.5 years of scientific operations from L2 orbit, this mission will observe spectroscopically in the infrared (IR) a large population of known transiting planets in the neighbourhood of the Solar System. The aim is to enable a deep understanding of the physics and chemistry of these exoplanets. ARIEL is based on a 1-m class telescope ahead of a suite of instruments: two spectrometer channels covering the band 1.95 to 7.80 µm and four photometric channels (two wide and two narrow band) in the range 0.5 to 1.9 μm. The ARIEL optical design is conceived as a fore-module common afocal telescope that will feed the spectrometer and photometric channels. The telescope optical design is based on an eccentric pupil two-mirror classic Cassegrain configuration coupled to a tertiary paraboloidal mirror. An all-aluminum structure has been considered for the telescope layout, and a detailed tolerance analysis has been conducted to assess the telescope feasibility. This analysis has been done including the different parts of the realization and life of the instrument, from integration on-ground to in-flight stability during the scientific acquisitions. The primary mirror (M1) temperature will be monitored and finely tuned via an active thermal control system based on thermistors and heaters. The heaters will be switched on and off to maintain the M1 temperature within ±1K thanks to a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller

    The pre-launch characterization of SIMBIO-SYS/VIHI imaging spectrometer for the BepiColombo mission to Mercury. I. Linearity, radiometry, and geometry calibrations

    Before integration aboard European Space Agency BepiColombo mission to Mercury, the visible and near infrared hyperspectral imager underwent an intensive calibration campaign. We report in Paper I about the radiometric and linearity responses of the instrument including the optical setups used to perform them. Paper II [F. Altieri et al., Rev. Sci. Instrum. 88, 094503 (2017)] will describe complementary spectral response calibration. The responsivity is used to calculate the expected instrumental signal-to-noise ratio for typical observation scenarios of the BepiColombo mission around Mercury. A description is provided of the internal calibration unit that will be used to verify the relative response during the instrument's lifetime. The instrumental spatial response functions as measured along and across the spectrometer's slit direction were determined by means of spatial scans performed with illuminated test slits placed at the focus of a collimator. The dedicated optical setup used for these measurements is described together with the methods used to derive the instrumental spatial responses at different positions within the 3 . 5 ° field of view and at different wavelengths in the 0.4-2.0 μm spectral range. Finally, instrument imaging capabilities and Modulated Transfer Function are tested by using a standard mask as a target

    Case report: An intriguing case of Philadelphia chromosome–positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia recurrence

    The incorporation of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome–positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) led to significant improvement. However, in the pediatric setting, the outcomes of Ph+ ALL are still inferior compared to those of other ALL subtypes even in the TKI era due to higher relapse rate. Herein, we report a very peculiar case of late extramedullary Ph+ ALL relapse in a child, characterized by lymphomatous presentation in the tonsils and lymphoid lineage switch. The diagnostic dilemma between the occurrence of a second malignant neoplasm and the recurrence of the primary disease is further discussed, highlighting the importance of molecular backtracking analysis. This case report emphasizes the high plasticity and polyclonal nature of ALL and expands the heterogeneity of possible clinical presentation of Ph+ ALL at relapse
