Yksin tulleiden alaikäisten turvapaikanhakijoiden kokemuksia ryhmäkodin palveluista

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää yksintulleiden alaikäisten turvapaikanhakijoiden kokemuksia siitä, millaiset ryhmäkodin tarjoamat palvelut tukevat heitä integroitumisessa uuteen yhteiskuntaan. Tavoitteena oli myös selvittää, löytyykö ryhmäkodin tarjoamiin kotouttamispalveluihin uusia näkökulmia palvelujen kehittämistyön tueksi. Opinnäytetyö on toteutettu yhteistyössä Espoon ryhmäkodin kanssa. Opinnäytetyö on kvalitatiivinen ja aineistonhankintametodina on käytetty puolistrukturoitua haastattelua. Haastatteluun osallistui kolme ryhmäkodin asiakasta, jotka olivat asuneet ryhmäkodissa neljästä viiteen kuukautta. Aineisto kerättiin heinäkuussa ja marraskuussa 2015. Aineiston analyysimenetelmänä käytettiin sisällönanalyysia. Teoreettisena opinnäytetyön viitekehyksenä on kotoutuminen. Lisäksi teoreettisessa osuudessa perehdyttiin aihealueeseen liittyvään pakolaiskirjallisuuteen, aiempiin tutkimuksiin, tilastoihin, lainsäädäntöön ja palvelujen laadunarviointiin. Tutkielman tulosten mukaan kotoutumisen edistämiseksi keskeisimpinä koettuja asioita olivat ryhmäkodin ohjaajien vähäinen vaihtuminen, ohjaajien yhtenäiset toimintalinjat ja nuorten tasa-arvoinen kohtelu. Arkitoimintoihin toivottiin konkreettisia muutoksia, kuten lisää pesutiloja, sekä mahdollisuutta jakaa makuutilat yhteisen kansalaisuuden mukaan. Nuorille mieluisat harrastukset, koulun käynti ja itse määritelty vapaa-ajan viettotapa esiintyivät erityisen tärkeässä roolissa nuorten kotoutumisessa. Kotouttamistyössä on tärkeää panostaa alkuvaiheen palveluihin, ja siitä syystä ryhmäkodin kotouttamistoimiin tähtäävää palvelua suunniteltaessa on tärkeää huomioida myös palveluista hyötyvien asiakkaiden mielipide. Kotoutumisen ja nuorille tarpeellisen tasapainoisen kehityksen kannalta olisi ohjaajien rekrytoinnissa kiinnitettävä huomiota henkilöstön ammatilliseen osaamiseen ja nuorten palveluntarpeiden tunnistamiseen. Yksin tulleet alaikäiset turvapaikanhakijat tarvitsevat erityistä tukea ja ohjausta kokonaisvaltaisen kotoutumisen edistämiseksi. Tästä opinnäytetyöstä saatuja tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää osana palvelujen kehittämistyötä erilaisissa turvapaikanhakijoiden alaikäisyksiköissä. Another aim was to find out if there are any new perspectives to services of integration that can be applied to improve the services. This thesis has been conducted in co-operation with a group home of Espoo. The thesis is qualitative and the method for gathering the material was half structured interview. Three group home residents took part in the interviews. Each interviewee had lived in a group home from four to five months. The data was collected in July and November of 2015. Content analysis was used as a method of analysis and the theoretical frame of reference of the thesis is social exclusion. The theoretical part of the thesis also discusses refugees, integration and quality of services. According to the results the key factors in promoting integration were permanent social workers, mutual lines of action between social workers and equal treatment of the youth. The residents wished for more concrete changes to everyday living including more bath-rooms and the possibility to share a room with people of the same nationality. Pleasant hobbies, going to school and self-determined free time played a significant role in the integration of the youth. Under-aged asylum seekers who arrive alone need special support and guidance in order to accomplish comprehensive integration. It is important to invest in the initial phase of integration, which is why it is necessary to hear the opinions of the residents while planning the integrating services of the group home. In order for the youth to grow and integrate properly it is essential to pay attention to the level of professionalism of people who apply for positions at the group home and their ability to recognize the needs of the residents. The results from this thesis can be utilized in the development process of group homes for under-aged asylum seekers
