Convention bureau. Energizer of a tourist destination

RESUMEN: Las oficinas de convenciones cuyo principal cometido es la promoción de la infraestructura de un destino preparado para acoger todo tipo de actos, tiene como objetivo conseguir atraer al destino diferentes tipos de clientes potenciales a la ciudad que promociona. El propósito de este trabajo de fin de grado es realizar un estudio socioeconómico y cultural de las oficinas de convenciones respecto a los efectos que causan en un destino, tanto de forma directa o indirecta y cómo influye en el desarrollo turístico de una ciudad, en este caso Santander. Además, se presenta información de cara a un futuro próximo y la opinión de diferentes profesionales del sector turístico, aportando su visión de la posible evolución del mismo en Santander.ABSTRACT: The main commitment of Convention Bureau is the promotion of the infrastructure of a destination prepared to hold all different types of events, it has the objective to boost the destination bringing potential clients to the city promoted. The aim of this final degree project is to perform an economic, social, and cultural research of the Convention Bureau related to the effects they cause to a destination, either directly or indirectly and how affects to the touristic development of a city, in this case Santander. Besides, it exposes information of a nearly future and the opinion of professionals of the tourism sector, contributing with their vision of the possible evolution of this element in Santander.Grado en Gestión Hotelera y Turístic
