Helicopter Fuselage Drag ─ Combined Computational Fluid Dynamics and Experimental Studies
In this paper, wind tunnel experiments are combined with Computational
Fluid Dynamics (CFD) aiming to analyze the aerodynamics of
realistic fuselage con¦gurations. A development model of the ANSAT
aircraft and an early model of the AKTAI light helicopter were employed.
Both models were tested at the subsonic wind tunnel of KNRTU-KAI
for a range of Reynolds numbers and pitch and yaw angles. The force
balance measurements were complemented by particle image velocimetry
(PIV) investigations for the cases where the experimental force measurements
showed substantial unsteadiness. The CFD results were found to
be in fair agreement with the test data and revealed some §ow separation
at the rear of the fuselages. Once con¦dence on the CFD method was
established, further modi¦cations were introduced to the ANSAT-like
fuselage model to demonstrate drag reduction via small shape changes
An Experience in Collecting Requirements for Mobile, Energy Efficient Applications from End Customers in the Bank Sector
Several development processes recommend strongly user participation and involvement in requirement acqui-
sition. However, there are very few studies detailing the empirical results of direct user involvement in large
industrial software development products. In this paper we report the outcomes of a novel approach taken
by the Software House of one of major Russian banks (Ak Bars Bank) on how to improve the development
process by directly involving end customers in the requirement elicitation phase of mobile, energy efficient ap-
plications. We observe that such involvement in a form of a workshop has led to improvement of requirements
collection and higher levels of user satisfactio
Modernization of the russian law: A review of the laws on enforcement proceedings
Modernization of Russian law covers many spheres including enforcement proceedings. The existing legislation on the enforcement proceedings, which has been reformed for last 15 years, serves as basis of modernization. The scientific doctrine and system of enforcement proceedings in Russia have gradually been developed; it includes such fundamental documents as the Constitution of the Russian Federation, international treaties, both substantive and procedural law of the Russian Federation in the area of enforcement proceedings and also court decisions. Furthermore, the importance of the European Court of Human Rights in relation to enforcement proceedings increases in Russia
Laser annealing of metal nanoparticles implanted in dielectrics
The interaction of excimer laser pulses with silica consisting ion-synthesized copper nanoparticles is studied. Using optical reflectance of composite layers it is established that at the initial stage laser annealing leads to the fragmentation of the nanoparticles to smaller ones. After continuous irradiation by several pulses, the nanoparticles become larger due to the heating of the surrounding glass. The laser treatment for a longer time (more than several tens pulses) results in the dissociation of nanoparticles into small clusters and individual atoms. The mechanisms responsible for the modification of the composite material under high power laser radiation are discussed. © 2011 Copyright Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE)
