In this second part we update the key aspects in the histopathological diagnosis of the celiac disease or gluten–sensitive enteropathy. We also emphasized the pertinence of using the classification of Marsh-Oberhuber and we make a review the current state of the immunophenotyping of intraepithelial lymphocytes and the contributions it makes to the diagnosis of this illness. Additionally, the traditional treatment is described and the therapeutic variants in the research are considered.En esta segunda parte se realiza una actualización de los aspectos claves en el diagnóstico histopatológico de la enfermedad celíaca o enteropatía sensible al gluten, se enfatiza en la pertinencia de utilizar la clasificación de Marsh-Oberhuber y se revisan el estado actual del inmunofenotipaje de los linfocitos intraepiteliales y los aportes que hace éste al diagnóstico de la enfermedad. The celíac disease, or gluten-sensitive enteropathy, is currently the most frequent chronic digestive illness around the world. In this first part we review some aspects of historical interests and we show the advances in the fields of epidemiology, genetics, immunopathogenesis and the widening of the clinical spectrum with the emergence of new concepts, which have been enriched by the diagnostic contributions in the field of immunoserology.La enfermedad celíaca o enteropatía sensible al gluten es la enfermedad digestiva crónica más frecuente hoy en el mundo.
