Sustainability in the business context: Contributions of product design.
Dentro do universo e premissas sustentáveis, a
The objective of the work was to develop an eco-efficient artefact for a sustainable business, for this,
it was necessary to carry out a study on aspects of sustainability, interconnecting these to movements
of the DIY and minimalist culture. These cultural studies related to the theme have proved to be of
utmost importance for the final artifact, which brings as main characteristics elements of sustainable
aesthetics and references of these cultures. Within the universe and sustainable premises, the choice
was to develop an artifact for foodbike, aimed at the traveling public, being an economic alternative
to microentrepreneurs. The chosen raw material - pallet - had an important relevance for local
economy, since it is a material of reutilization, with excellent mechanical qualities, primordial aspect
for confection of the final artifact. When working materials with great potential for re-signification,
it was necessary to realize that at each passage a new aesthetic appears in the eyes of the consumers
The Perception of Composite Materials in Fashion Artifacts and Automobile Panel
A matéria prima proveniente
brilho, textura fosca, alta flexibilidade e cor marrom claro. The goal of this work was to evaluate the perception of two composite materials, prioritizing
configurative elements of color, brightness, texture and flexibility. The raw material from
the coconut shell poder has two compositions of binders, chemical and biodegradable. Thus,
four distinct surfaces (front and back) were generated, called x1, x2, and y1, y2. As a
research procedure, structured interviews were adopted, and the interviewed group was
asked to select the surface of their preference for the possible application in bags, shoes and
car interior panel. The aesthetic elements most considered were, first, the medium gloss,
smooth texture, low flexibility and dark brown color, related to the X1 material. In sequence, the Y material stood out for its high gloss, smooth texture, high flexibility and light brown
color; and Y2 for its low gloss, matte texture, high flexibility and light brown color
Coconut endocarp powder: input in the design process for experiments with materials
materiais.
abundância no paÃs.
The studies of new material properties, the sustainability and residue as a procedural input are thematics in evidence in the industrial design agenda. In this context, the article
aims to present the Material Driven Design. The method approaches the materials
following the process of transformation taking as a starting point a certain raw material
and its mechanical, aesthetic and symbolic exploration, having as goal the interaction of
the user with the material properties. The article addresses the experiments with coconut
endocarp powder, a solid residue in abundance in the country; the empirical process
proposed by the method was the basis for confirming the hypothesis of the possibility of
reuse and residual redetermination. The continuous character of the research is
considered, and the achievement of positive results at the moment stimulate the
exploratory continuation with the purpose of consolidating the potential properties of the
developed material
The Vegan Scenario and Influences on Material Development
The origin of raw materials has been a recurring theme in the industrial sphere, considering global
warming and actions towards sustainable development. The omission in the process of obtaining
materials of animal origin influences the existing dialogue about the liberation of this group, as
well as the development not based on animal suf ering. In this context, the article aims to build a
global view regarding the vegan perspective linked to the projectual opportunity that this market
share incites. The article addresses authors who allow a preliminary assessment of the incentives
for material innovations, as well as philosophical topics with the intention of presenting the reader
with the complexity of the relationship between homo Sapiens as a member of the animal kingdom.
The approach is concluded with the understanding of the importance of reading social phenomena
for ethical and timely performance to the new requirements presented.
