Factorization of integrals, defining the beta-function, into integrals of total derivatives in N=1 SQED, regularized by higher derivatives
Some calculations in supersymmetric theories, made with the higher derivative
regularization, show that the beta-function is given by integrals of total
derivatives. This is qualitatively explained for the N=1 supersymmetric
electrodynamics in all orders.Comment: 14 page
Experimental studies of the interaction of ion- and plasma-streams with carbon-based targets placed near a cathode of plasma-focus facility
The paper presents measuring techniques and results of experiments performed within the PF-1000 PlasmaFocus facility in order to investigate the interaction of high-energy deuteron beams (of ED >100 keV) and deuterium plasma streams (of vstr ≥ 10⁷ cm/s) with carbon-based materials, designed for the first wall of a future thermonuclear reactor of the ICF or MCF type. Particular attention was paid to the verification of diagnostic techniques, which might be used for time- and space-resolved studies of the interaction of ion- and plasmastreams with the targets placed near the cathode outlet inside the experimental device. Optical Properties of Layered Superconductors near the Josephson Plasma Resonance
We study the optical properties of crystals with spatial dispersion and show
that the usual Fresnel approach becomes invalid near frequencies where the
group velocity of the wave packets inside the crystal vanishes. Near these
special frequencies the reflectivity depends on the atomic structure of the
crystal provided that disorder and dissipation are very low. This is
demonstrated explicitly by a detailed study of layered superconductors with
identical or two different alternating junctions in the frequency range near
the Josephson plasma resonance. Accounting for both inductive and charge
coupling of the intrinsic junctions, we show that multiple modes are excited
inside the crystal by the incident light, determine their relative amplitude by
the microscopic calculation of the additional boundary conditions and finally
obtain the reflectivity.
Spatial dispersion also provides a novel method to stop light pulses, which
has possible applications for quantum information processing and the artificial
creation of event horizons in a solid.Comment: 25 pages, 20 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.
Research on interactions of intense deuterium plasma streams with SiC targets in plasma-focus experiments
The paper presents results of experimental research on emission of the visible radiation (VR) from intense deuterium plasma streams propagating freely within a vacuum chamber or interacting with silicon-carbide (SiC) targets. The investigated pulsed plasma streams were generated by high-current discharges realized within two facilities of the Plasma-Focus (PF) type, i.e. within the PF-1000U facility operated at the IFPiLM and the PF-360U device operated at the NCBJ. Detailed measurements have been carried out using optical emission spectroscopy (OES) technique. Parameters of plasma were estimated from the Dα line only. Structural changes of the irradiated SiC targets were analyzed by means of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS).
