Aim: To assess the clinical practice of diagnosis and treatment in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection and to compare this practice with the international guidelines in the European Registry on the management of Helicobacter pylori infection, Hp-EuReg protocol), a multicenter prospective observational study initiated by the European Helicobacter and Microbiota Study Group. Materials and methods: The data of 813 patients infected with H. pylori and entered in the Hp-EuReg register by the Russian centers in 2013-2015 were analyzed. Results: The most common methods for the primary diagnosis of H. pylori infection are histology (40.3%), rapid urease test (35.7%), and serology (17.2%). The duration of H. pylori eradication therapy was 7, 10, and 14 days in 18.0, 49.3, and 25.1%, respectively. To monitor the effectiveness of treatment, the investigators used a histological examination (34%), a urea breath test (27.3%), H. pylori stool antigen (22.8%), and a rapid urease test (16.3%). A serological test was carried out in 2.5% of the cases. No monitoring was done in 13.5% of the patients. The average eradication efficiency was 82.6%. If the therapy was ineffective, 80% of physicians did not intend to prescribe a new cycle of treatment. Conclusion: Significant differences were found between clinical practice and the current guidelines

    No full text
Research background: In connection with the pandemic situation in the world, higher education had to find a solution to fulfill its obligations and end the academic year. The transition to a digital educational format has allowed universities to fulfill their obligations to provide educational services in full. The article dwells on the main concepts, models and characteristic features of modern distance learning. The relevance of distance learning technologies is substantiated, with the emphasis on the specific organization of the educational process, due to those technologies. Purpose of the article: The aim of the authors was to investigate into the expansion of online learning functions as a tool of the educational process, as well as into the ways to preserve and increase student motivation to study in the situation of distance education. Methods: Methods are proposed for creating a virtual learning environment based on: resorting to the material from various Internet sources; giving online lectures and consultations; working out tests; using an integration model, a convertible interactive database and a complex approach with the application of multiple resources for passing on and consolidating knowledge, as well as for rating students’ academic performance. Findings & Value added: Distance learning is a modern reality, which, as an important part and complement to the traditional form of the learning process of a modern student, expands the possibilities of classical university education

Macrobenthos from the Novaya Zemlya Trough, Kara Sea

During Cruise 54 of R/V Akademik Mstislav Keldysh macrobenthos of the Novaya Zemlya Trough was studied with use of a Sigsby trawl along a submeridional transect near 75°30'N at depth range from 68 to 362 m. In total 140 species of bottom animals were found. Relative role of taxons was assessed using three parameters: abundance, biomass, and energy flow. Similarity of the parameters was used for comparison of samples. New material greatly contributes to data on composition of fauna and structure of communities of the studied region. It was revealed that small scyphozoid polyps and sipunculoids play an important role in the trough's community. Presence of a community dominated by Ophiocten sericeum (with important role of small bivalves) was revealed for the first time not only at the eastern by also at the western slope of the Novaya Zemlya Trough. The sharpest changes in composition and structure of the bottom community were confined to a zone of transition from the trough floor to the slope. These changes are determined by specificity of the macrorelief (of the floor and slope), composition of ground (soft brown silts abound in rhizopods and dense gray silts with admixture of pebbles), and possibly by hydrodynamic processes near the bottom
