Treends of Flue Gas Composition during ETP Sludge Mixed With Coal Burning
ABSTRACT Due to the rapid industrialization, the waste generated from industries is growing more. The waste generated from an industry is may be hazardous or non-hazardous category. The minimization of waste is a main Hazardous Waste Management (HWM) is a very important issue and is assuming significance globally. Hazardous and non hazardous waste mixing with coal burning, when carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner, is recognized for farreaching environmental benefits. ETP sludge is a very common waste, which will generate from most of the industries. ETP Sludge which is having GCV > 2500 kcal/kg can burn along with coal in energy recovery process. In this study ETP Sludge is collected from pharmaceutical industry, different compositions of this ETP sludge is mixed with coal burning process. The trends of flue gas composition (SO 2 , NO x , CO, O 2 CO 2 & HC) of these emissions have studied in different composition mixed with coal burning. The summary of trends of flue gas composition is discussed in results and discussion
Domino Strategy for the Stereoselective Construction of Angularly Fused Tricyclic Ethers
A stereoselective
synthesis of decahydrofuro[3,2-<i>d</i>]isochromene
derivatives has been achieved by the
condensation of 2-cyclohexenylbutane-1,4-diol with aldehydes in the
presence of a stochiometric amount of BF3·OEt2 in dichloromethane at −78 °C. Similarly, the
condensation of 2-cyclopentenylbutan-1,4-diol with aldehydes provides
the corresponding octahydro-2<i>H</i>-cyclopenta[<i>c</i>]furo[2,3-<i>d</i>]pyran derivatives
in good yields with high diastereoselectivity. It is an elegant strategy
for the quick construction of tricyclic architectures with four contiguous
stereogenic centers in a single step. These tricyclic frameworks are
the integral part of numerous natural products

Insect-Repellent and Mosquitocidal Effects of Noreremophilane- and Nardoaristolone-Based Compounds
Here, we disclose novel mosquito-repellent
synthetic hydrindanes
based on noreremophilanes and nardoaristolone B which show increased
activity against adult females of Aedes aegypti. The noreremophilanes and nardoaristolone B with hydrindane skeleton
are structurally related to nootkatone with decalin skeleton, a well-studied
natural product extracted from a grape fruit. Out of our library of
compounds synthesized based on the noreremophilanes and nardoaristolone
B scaffolds, NDS-100598 (compound 20) exhibits higher
repellent and knock-down effects at a very low concentration (0.25
mg/cm2), while a few analogues showed considerably enhanced
activity compared to racemic nootkatone. This is the first report
documenting insect-repellent and knock-down activity of the noreremophilanes
class of compounds
