The acceleration of social and economic development is in large measure predetermined by the role of labor in the system of conditions and factors in the life activity of people in socialist society. This role depends decisively on the degree to which labor is instrumental in the distribution of consumer goods. This article will examine the necessary measures in this area that are associated with the integrated reform of consumer prices and the population's incomes, the ultimate goal of which is to upgrade society's evaluation of labor in the overall system of distribution relations and basic factors in the life activity of the USSR's population.
