Ellipsometric detection of transitional surface structures on decapped GaAs(001)

Structural and optical properties of MBE-grown GaAs(001) surface have been studied by reflection high-energy electron diffraction and single-wavelength ellipsometry under dynamic conditions of ramp heating after desorption of passivating As-cap-layer with and without As4 beam applied to the surface. For a number metastable reconstruction transitions a clear correlation is stablished between diffraction and optical data. Boundary lines for transitional superstructures are determined as a function of As flux and corresponding activation energies are estimated. For the first time it is shown ellipsometrically that optical response of the surface is drastically different for transitions of the order->order and order->disorder type.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures Keywords: GaAs, surface reconstructions, ellipsometr

The Religions of Ryukyu and Queen Sho En

In Okinawa, they have Utaki, the holy ground to conduct religious rituals, and priests called Noro. The priest in the highest position is Kikoe Okimi from the royal family. The founder was the daughter of King Shoen, the first king of the Second Sho Royal line. The First Sho Royal line was from Sashiki in the southern part of Okinawa, and Baten N oro took the highest position and guarded the king. But Sho En was from Iheiya Isaland and had no relations with the holy ground in Sannan region. In the era of the second king, Sho Shin, he appointed his sister Gekko as the highest shrine maiden and succeeded the position by receiving a name of God from Baten N oro, and took over the political structure where the king and the shrine maiden were united. After Shoen passed away, the drifters from Korea met with Sho Shin at the age of little over 10 and reported that his mother was in the position of coducting political affairs. There are also some records to show that this Queen Sho En was the daughter of So Niho. This shows that the administrators of this period retained the Japanese as interpreters, and that there were situations where the use of hiragana characters in published documents and inscriptions was regarded as a familiar form of records

Simultaneous analysis of major ingredients of Gardenia fruit by HPLC-MS/TQMS method

An efficient, accurate HPLC-MS/TQMS method was introduced for the quantitative/qualitative simultaneous analysis of main ingredients, namely geniposide and genipingentiobioside, in the Gardenia fruit. The separation was successfully obtained using a C8 (100mm×2.1mm, 5μm, 30°C) column by gradient elution with ultrapure water as mobile phase, where flow rate was set to 0.2 ml/min and detection wavelength at 240 nm. The analytical method was validated and the quantification of active compounds, namely genipingentiobioside and gardenoside, was performed. Linearity, precision, repeatability, stability and recovery were also reported. The quantitative analysis revealed that both main ingredients as geniposide and genipingentiobioside have performed a good linear relationship in 0.1-100 mg/ml concentration range (r=1.00000 and r =0.99998). The average content was measured to be 4.842% with RSD 0.96% for geniposide and 1.1976% with RSD 0.47% for genipingentiobioside in the Gardenia fruit. Accordingly, this method would be feasible for the quantity and quality control of crude drugs
