Automated mechanical system for loading and feeding two machined plates for assembly and rotating by 90Ėš in Automobile Industry

    Get PDF
Ā© ASEE 2016Purpose of this research paper is to introduce a design of a fully automated, cost effective, high-speed mechanical system. This system will assemble two plates of a batch or lot production and deliver them for inspection. For example, in the automobile industry, this system can be used to carry out an assembly of a clutch release bearing and its hub. Automated tools like a rod less pneumatic cylinder and gripper unit, a mechanical flipper wheel, precision indexing conveyors and proximity laser sensors have been used to complete the required tasks at high-speed and with high accuracy. This system is designed and modeled using the Creo Parametric 2.0 software and its computer-aided structural analysis is carried out with the assistance of the ANSYS Workbench 16.0 software

Automated and High Speed Mechanical System for Assembling of Self Centering Release Bearing in Automobile Industries

The moto of this research paper is to design and simulation of a fully automated and high speed assembly system design for self-centering release bearing, which can reduce human efforts, time consumption and eventually cost of a final product. This system increases efficiency and production rate on an assembly line. This system has been designed by using PTC Creo 2.0 a modelling software. For the gripping purpose a self-centering gripper is used, which is designed in such a way that it holds the bearing hub with center matching technology and assemble it over self-centering release bearing within the exact tolerance zone. To control all motions of the grippers and the center matching tools the rod less pneumatic cylinders are used. At the end, the computer aided structural analysis and validation of the bearing hub and the gripper have been performed using ANSYS Workbench 16.0 to study the stresses developed and deformation pattern during the process of assembly

The agenda of this research poster is to design fully automated high-speed mechanical system which should be cost effective as well. The purpose of designing this system is to assemble two plates and their inspection for a batch or lot production at high-speed. To relate this to real world application in the automobile industry, the whole operation is performed to carry out an assembly of clutch release bearing and its hub. Automated tools like rod less pneumatic cylinder and gripper unit, mechanical flipper wheel, precision indexing conveyors and proximity laser sensors have been used to complete the required tasks at high-speed and with high accuracy. This system is designed and modeled using Creo Parametric 2.0 and its computer-aided structural analysis is carried out with the help of ANSYS Workbench 16.0

Acute presentation of a heterotopic pregnancy following spontaneous conception: a case report

    Get PDF
Spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy is a rare clinical condition in which intrauterine and extra uterine pregnancies occur at the same time. It can be a life threatening condition and can be easily missed with the diagnosis being overlooked. We present the case of a 40 year old patient who was treated for a heterotopic pregnancy. She had a transvaginal ultrasound because of a previous ectopic pregnancy and an intrauterine gestational sac was seen with false reassurances. The patient presented acutely with a ruptured tubal pregnancy and this was managed laparoscopically. The ectopic pregnancy was not suspected at her initial presentation. A high index of suspicion is needed in women with risk factors for an ectopic pregnancy and in low risk women who have free fluid with or without an adnexal mass with an intrauterine gestation

Presence of two types of flowers with respect to nectar sugar in two gregariously flowering species

Many species of animal-pollinated flowers are known to vary widely in the nectar content of flowers. Some proportion of flowers in many species is apparently nectarless, and such flowers are believed to be 'cheaters'. Cheating may explain a part of the variability in nectar content. If cheating exists as a qualitatively different strategy then we expect bimodality in the distribution of nectar content of flowers. It has been shown in a multispecies study that gregarious species have a higher proportion of cheater flowers. We studied the frequency distribution of total nectar sugar in two gregariously flowering species Lantana camara and Utricularia purpurascens, which differed in other floral and ecological characters. At the population level, both the species showed significant bimodality in the total sugar content of flowers. The obvious sources of heterogeneity in the data did not explain bimodality. In Lantana camara, bimodality was observed within flowers of some of the individual plants sampled. In Utricularia purpurascens the proportion of nectarless flowers was more in high-density patches, suggesting that the gregariousness hypothesis may work within a species as well. The results support the hypothesis of cheating as a distinct strategy since two distinct types of flowers were observed in both the species. The effect of density in Utricularia purpurascens also supports the gregariousness hypothesis

Negative pressure wound therapy aids recovery following surgical debridement due to severe bacterial cellulitis with abdominal abscess post-cesarean: a case report (CARE-Compliant).

Open accessBacterial cellulitis post-Cesarean section is rare. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is widely used in various medical specialities; its effectiveness in obstetrics however remains the topic of debateā€”used predominantly as an adjunct to secondary intention specific to high-risk patient groups. Its application in the treatment of actively infected wounds post-Cesarean is not well documented. Here, we document NPWT in the treatment of an unusually severe case of bacterial cellulitis with abdominal abscess postpartum. We provide a unique photographic timeline of wound progression following major surgical debridement, documenting the effectiveness of 2 different NPWT systems (RENASYS GO and PICO, Smith & Nephew). We report problems encountered using these NPWT systems and ā€œad-hocā€ solutions to improve efficacy and patient experience. A 34-year-old primiparous Caucasian female with no prior history or risk factors for infection and a normal body mass index (BMI) presented with severe abdominal pain, swelling, and extensive abdominal redness 7 days postemergency Cesarean section. Examination revealed extensive cellulitis with associated abdominal abscess. Staphylococcus aureus was identified in wound exudates and extensive surgical debridement undertaken day 11 postnatally due to continued febrile episodes and clinical deterioration, despite aggressive intravenous antibiotic therapy. Occlusive NPWT dressings were applied for a period of 3 weeks before discharge, as well as a further 5 weeks postdischarge into the community. NPWT was well tolerated and efficacious in infection clearance and wound healing during bacterial cellulitis. Wound healing averaged 1 cm2 per week before NPWT withdrawal; cessation of NPWT before full wound closure resulted in significantly reduced healing rate, increased purulent discharges, and skin irritation, highlighting the efficacy of NPWT. Five-month follow-up in the clinic found the wound to be fully healed with no additional scarring beyond the boundaries of the origi
