    In situハイブリダイゼーションによる子宮頸部上皮性病変への16, 18ヒト乳頭腫ウイルスの組み込みの検出

    高感度 in situ ハイブリゼーション(ISH)法と高感度 PCR 法を用いて子宮頸部扁平上皮病変と腺病変での16型と18型のヒト乳頭種ウイルス感染頻度検索し、核への組み込みの頻度を ISH 法で決定した。16, 18型は PCR と ISH でともに、扁平上皮系病変のグレードが高まるにつれて感染頻度が上がった。浸潤扁平上皮癌のすべての例で ISH で組み込み型を示し、CIN1 の全てでエピソーム型を示した。腺系病変では PCR でも ISH でも16型より18型が多く検出され、そのほぼすべてが組み込み型だった。CIN2ではエピソーム型が多くCIN3では組み込み型が多かった。これらから16, 18型の核への組み込みは扁平上皮病変でも腺病変でも癌の初期に現れる変化、あるいは癌への進展を強く示唆する所見と考えられた。Highly sensitive in situ hybridization (ISH) and highly sensitive PCR methods were used to determine the infection of HPV type 16 (HPV 16) and type 18 (HPV 18) and the integration of them into the cells of squamous and glandular lesions of the uterine cervix. The frequency of HPV infection detected by ISH and PCR increased with progression of squamous lesions. All cases of ICC showed the integrated pattern of positive signals with ISH and all positive cases in CIN1 showed the episomal pattern. In CIN2 episomal patterns were more frequent than integrated pattern and in CIN3 integrated pattern were more frequent. Glandular lesions showed a greater frequency of HPV 18 than HPV 16 on nested PCR and ISH, and almost all of ISH-positive cases showed the integrated pattern. These data suggested that integration of HPV 16 and 18 is required for carcinogenesis in both squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix

    Physical Conditions in Molecular Clouds in the Arm and Interarm Regions of M51

    We report systematic variations in the emission line ratio of the CO J = 2-1 and J = 1-0 transitions (R_(2-1/1-0)) in the grand-design spiral galaxy M51. The R_(2-1/1-0) ratio shows clear evidence for the evolution of molecular gas from the upstream interarm regions into the spiral arms and back into the downstream interarm regions. In the interarm regions, R_(2-1/1-0) is typically 0.7 (often 0.8-1.0) in the spiral arms, particularly at the leading (downstream) edge of the molecular arms. These trends are similar to those seen in Galactic GMCs with OB star formation (presumably in the Galactic spiral arms). R_(2-1/1-0) is also high, ~0.8-1.0, in the central region of M51. Analysis of the molecular excitation using a Large Velocity Gradient radiative transfer calculation provides insight into the changes in the physical conditions of molecular gas between the arm and interarm regions: cold and low-density gas (≾ 10 K, ≾ 300 cm^(–3)) is required for the interarm GMCs, but this gas must become warmer and/or denser in the more active star-forming spiral arms. The ratio R_(2-1/1-0) is higher in areas of high 24 μm dust surface brightness (which is an approximate tracer of star formation rate surface density) and high CO(1-0) integrated intensity (i.e., a well-calibrated tracer of total molecular gas surface density). The systematic enhancement of the CO(2-1) line relative to CO(1-0) in luminous star-forming regions suggests that some caution is needed when using CO(2-1) as a tracer of bulk molecular gas mass, especially when galactic structures are resolved

    We examined the nutritional effects of miso soup supplemented with vitamin D on serum level of 25‐hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)D)and grip strength in sixty-seven inpatients(26 males, 41 females)of vitamin D insufficiency. The average age was 84.6 years old and average body mass index was 20.5kg/m2. These inpatients were divided into two groups, miso soup supplemented with vitamin D group(D group)(n=35)and control group(n=32). Nyucal Kouso FiberⓇ, NUTRI Co, Ltd, easily dissolved in miso soup. The D group ingested 2g of Nyucal Kouso FiberⓇ containing 10μg of vitamin D once a day. The daily diet included 17.5μg of vitamin D. As a result, D group and control group ingested 27.5 μg and 17.5 μg per day of vitamin D, respectively. These results showed that both serum level of 25(OH)D and grip strength of D group were significantly higher for one month than before(p<0.001). In contrast, in control group, serum level of 25(OH)D also higher than before, whereas grip strength did not change so much. These findings suggest that vitamin D-added diet is nutritionally effective to improve serum level of 25(OH)D and grip strength of patients with vitamin D insufficiency

    昨年、報告したある定時制高校からの支援に対し、筆者らは今年度も院生によるチームで対応することにした。昨年からの継続とはいえ、目標が定まりにくい状況が続いた。学校側のニーズを把握し、スクールカウンセラーに接触するなどして、できるだけ触手を伸ばしつつ、筆者らの専門性を活かす支援をすることを心がけた。本稿は、院生として定時制高校支援のボランティアに入るという、本邦では報告のない手探り的な状況でどのように活動したかを報告し、それをもとに定時制高校支援を、グループワーク、連携、などの視点から考察を試みるものである。The authors continued to support a certain evening high school this year following last year. It has remained unclear what we are expected to and can do, in spite of the fact that it has been the second year. We have been exploring how our professional capacities can be utilized in the school by having opportunities to talk with the teachers and the school counselor. There is no literature on this kind of activities where graduate students of clinical psychology major are involved in supporting evening high school, so it makes sense that this activity is not so easy. So, the aricle is designed to report how we have been groping our way forward this year and discuss it from the perspective of group work and coalition

    Effect on Blood Pressure of Daily Lemon Ingestion and Walking

    Background. Recent studies suggest that the daily intake of lemon (Citrus limon) has a good effect on health, but this has not been confirmed in humans. In our previous studies, it was observed that people who are conscious of their health performed more lemon intake and exercise. An analysis that took this into account was required. Methodology. For 101 middle-aged women in an island area in Hiroshima, Japan, a record of lemon ingestion efforts and the number of steps walked was carried out for five months. The change rates (Δ%) of the physical measurements, blood test, blood pressure, and pulse wave measured value during the observation period were calculated, and correlations with lemon intake and the number of steps walked were considered. As a result, it was suggested that daily lemon intake and walking are effective for high blood pressure because both showed significant negative correlation to systolic blood pressure Δ%. Conclusions. As a result of multiple linear regression analysis, it was possible that lemon ingestion is involved more greatly with the blood citric acid concentration Δ% and the number of steps with blood pressure Δ%, and it was surmised that the number of steps and lemon ingestion are related to blood pressure improvement by different action mechanisms

    It has been 50 years since chronic granulomatous disease was first reported as a disease which fatally affected the ability of children to survive infections. Various milestone discoveries from the insufficient ability of patients' leucocytes to destroy microbial particles to the underlying genetic predispositions through which the disease is inherited have had important consequences. Longterm antibiotic prophylaxis has helped to fight infections associated with chronic granulomatous disease while the steady progress in bone marrow transplantation and the prospect of gene therapy are hailed as long awaited permanent treatment options. This review unearths the important findings by scientists that have led to our current understanding of the disease
