Sum rules for total hadronic widths of light mesons and rectilineal stitch of the masses on the complex plane

Mass formulae for light meson multiplets derived by means of exotic commutator technique are written for complex masses and considered as complex mass sum rules (CMSR). The real parts of the (CMSR) give the well known mass formulae for real masses (Gell-Mann--Okubo, Schwinger and Ideal Mixing ones) and the imaginary parts of CMSR give appropriate sum rules for the total hadronic widths - width sum rules (WSR). Most of the observed meson nonets satisfy the Schwinger mass formula (S nonets). The CMSR predict for S nonet that the points (m,Γ)(m,\Gamma{}) form the rectilinear stitch (RS) on the complex mass plane. For low-mass nonets WSR are strongly violated due to ``kinematical'' suppression of the particle decays, but the violation decreases as the mass icreases and disappears above 1.5GeV\sim 1.5 GeV. The slope ksk_s of the RS is not predicted, but the data show that it is negative for all S nonets and its numerical values are concentrated in the vicinity of the value -0.5. If ksk_s is known for a nonet, we can evaluate ``kinematical'' suppressions of its individual particles. The masses and the widths of the S nonet mesons submit to some rules of ordering which matter in understanding the properties of the nonet. We give the table of the S nonets indicating masses, widths, mass and width orderings. We show also mass-width diagrams for them. We suggest to recognize a few multiplets as degenerate octets. In Appendix we analyze the nonets of 1+1^+ mesons.Comment: 20 pages, 3 figures; title and discussion expanded; additional text; final version accepted for publication in EPJ

W artykule dokonano przeglądu najważniejszych doniesień z konferencji ASCO i EHA z 2011 roku dotyczących przewlekłej białaczki szpikowej (CML). Hematologia 2011; 2, 3: 276–283This article provides an overview of the most important abstracts from ASCO and EHA conferences in 2011, with special emphasis on 2nd generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) as first-line treatment of newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients, problem of resistance to imatinib including patients with T315I mutation, and consequences of resistance of CML stem cell to TKI. Supratentorial neurenteric cyst—A case report

Supratentorial neurenteric cyst is a rare congenital lesion. We report here a case of a 33-year-old female who presented with seizures. A multicystic lesion in the left premotor cortex with moderate contrast enhancement was demonstrated with MRI. Microscopically, the lesion showed small cystic structures filled with a proteinaceous fluid. The wall of the cysts was lined with a single layer of ciliated columnar or cuboidal epithelium on a basement membrane. Glandular structures resembling gastrointestinal glands were also present. The cells of the cyst lining and glandular structures revealed strongly positive immunoreactions for epithelial markers (cytokeratin and epithelial membrane antigen)

The influence of 2- chlorodeoxyadenosine in combination with tumour necrosis factor-α or its mutein on murine leukaemias L1210 and P388

We investigated the influence of 2-chlorodeoxyadenosine (2-CdA) in combination with tumour necrosis factor-α (TNFα) or its mutein VI, which differs from the native molecule by N-terminal amino acid composition, on the survival time of mice inoculated with leukaemia L1210 or P388. Groups of mice with leukaemia L1210 and P388 receiving 2-CdA combined with TNFα had shorter survival times than animals treated with these agents separately. In contrast, the administration of 2-CdA in conjunction with mutein VI, prolonged the survival of mice inoculated with these leukaemias as compared with animals receiving these agents separately. The results of the present study emphasize the importance of the biological activity of the TNFα molecule N-terminus
