China is now becoming a fundamental market for the prosperity and growth of the world’s tourism economy. It promotes the rapid development of foreign tourism and brings some influences to social life. Chinese tourists are highly concerned with foreign media at home and abroad; the Vietnamese Media is the same. Based on the theoretical framework, this paper analyzes the Chinese tourists report towards the Vietnamese Media “VnExpress” 2018 and discusses the construction of Chinese tourists’ image from the three views of macroscopic, the middle, and microcosmic of the news text framework. From there, it shows the tendency and prejudice of the Vietnamese media. The study found that “VnExpress” has a clear tendency; the image of Chinese tourists is full of negatives. At the same time, it indirectly involves events on political issues; Vietnamese media also maintain strong political sensitivity. Moreover, it emphasizes the integrity of Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty, the particularity of history and culture, and strengthening the sense of identity of Vietnamese readers

Optimal control of switched capacitor banks in Vietnam distribution network using integer genetic algorithm

    Get PDF
In distribution network, power and energy losses can be reduced by using switched capacitor banks. The capacitor banks can be switched on or off based on voltage profile or power factor or using timers. Due to variation of load, it is necessary to control the capacitor banks switching in function of load curve. This paper presents the application of an integer genetic algorithm to determine the optimal number of banks corresponding with hourly load to minimize total active power losses of distribution feeders. The problem constraints include voltage profile and heat conditions which are taken into account to the objective function by a penalty function. In this application, the structure of chromosomes is a set of numbers of the capacitor banks hourly connected to the grid. The proposed formulation is validated by a feeder. The result shows that in some cases, the active power losses at maximum compensation are greater than the ones of optimal control compensation, and the voltage reaches a higher level than the maximum voltage limit. The optimal control of switched capacitor banks can reduce power and energy losses as well as ensure maximum voltage profile within the limit

Multimodal Graph Learning for Modeling Emerging Pandemics with Big Data

Accurate forecasting and analysis of emerging pandemics play a crucial role in effective public health management and decision-making. Traditional approaches primarily rely on epidemiological data, overlooking other valuable sources of information that could act as sensors or indicators of pandemic patterns. In this paper, we propose a novel framework called MGL4MEP that integrates temporal graph neural networks and multi-modal data for learning and forecasting. We incorporate big data sources, including social media content, by utilizing specific pre-trained language models and discovering the underlying graph structure among users. This integration provides rich indicators of pandemic dynamics through learning with temporal graph neural networks. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework in pandemic forecasting and analysis, outperforming baseline methods across different areas, pandemic situations, and prediction horizons. The fusion of temporal graph learning and multi-modal data enables a comprehensive understanding of the pandemic landscape with less time lag, cheap cost, and more potential information indicators

BACKGROUND: The femoral rotation angle is important element in total knee replacement (TKR). AIM: To measure this angle, we determine through the axes: the transepicondylar axis (cTEA and sTEA), the posterior condylar axis (PCA), the anteroposterior axis (APA – Whiteside axis). METHODS: Measuring the angles created by the four axes: cTEA, sTEA, PCA and APA in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); determining the femoral rotation angle and application TKR. RESULTS: the angle between APA and cTEA: 90.41° ± 3.35°, the angle between APA and sTEA: 94.47° ± 3.31°, the angle between APA and PCA: 96.40° ± 4.59°, the angle between cTEA and sTEA: 4.00° ± 1.02°, the angle between cTEA and PCA: 6.53° ± 2.55°, the angle between sTEA and PCA: 3.48° ± 1.91°. CONCLUSION: The angle between sTEA and PCA is the angle that best represents the femoral rotation angle. However, in case of sTEA or PCA is difficult to identify, it can be measure via the APA or cTEA. These angles don’t differ by age, gender and place of knee joint

F2SD: A dataset for end-to-end group detection algorithms

The lack of large-scale datasets has been impeding the advance of deep learning approaches to the problem of F-formation detection. Moreover, most research works on this problem rely on input sensor signals of object location and orientation rather than image signals. To address this, we develop a new, large-scale dataset of simulated images for F-formation detection, called F-formation Simulation Dataset (F2SD). F2SD contains nearly 60,000 images simulated from GTA-5, with bounding boxes and orientation information on images, making it useful for a wide variety of modelling approaches. It is also closer to practical scenarios, where three-dimensional location and orientation information are costly to record. It is challenging to construct such a large-scale simulated dataset while keeping it realistic. Furthermore, the available research utilizes conventional methods to detect groups. They do not detect groups directly from the image. In this work, we propose (1) a large-scale simulation dataset F2SD and a pipeline for F-formation simulation, (2) a first-ever end-to-end baseline model for the task, and experiments on our simulation dataset.Comment: Accepted at ICMV 202

All-dielectric Metamaterial for Electromagnetically-induced Transparency in Optical Region

    Get PDF
Metamaterial (MM) is emerging as a promising approach to manipulate electromagnetic waves, spanning from radio frequency to the optical region. In this paper, we employ an effect called electromagnetically-induced transparency (EIT) in all-dielectric MM structures to create a narrow transparent window in opaque broadband of the optical region (580-670 nm). Using dielectric materials instead of metals can mitigate the large non-radiative ohmic loss on the metal surface. The unit-cell of MM consists of Silicon (Si) bars on Silicon dioxide (SiO2_{2}) substrate, in which two bars are directed horizontally and one bar is directed vertically. By changing the relative position and dimension of the Si bars, the EIT effect could be achieved. The optical properties of the proposed MM are investigated numerically using the finite difference method with commercial software Computer Simulation Technology (CST). Then, characteristic parameters of MM exhibiting EIT effect (EIT-MM), including Q-factor, group delay, are calculated to evaluate the applicability of EIT-MM to sensing and light confinement

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND: β-thalassemia is one of the most common monogenic diseases worldwide. Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) of β-thalassemia is performed to avoid affected pregnancies has become increasingly popular worldwide. In which, the indirect analysis using short tandem repeat (STRs) linking with HBB gene to detect different β-globin (HBB) gene mutation is a simple, accurate, economical and also provides additional control of contamination and allele-drop-out ADO. AIM: This study established microsatellite markers for PGT of Vietnamese β-thalassemia patient. METHODS: Fifteen (15) STRs gathered from 5 populations were identified by in silico tools within 1 Mb flanking the HBB gene. The multiplex PCR reaction was optimized and performed on 106 DNA samples from at-risk families. RESULTS: After estimating, PIC values were ≥ 0.7 for all markers, with expected heterozygosity and observed heterozygosity values ranged from 0.81 to 0.92 and 0.53 to 0.86, respectively. One hundred percent of individuals had at least seven heterozygous markers and were found to be heterozygous for at least two markers on either side of the HBB gene. The STRs panel was successfully performed on one at-risk family. CONCLUSION: In general, a pentadecaplex marker (all < 1 Mb from the HBB gene) assay was constituted for β-thalassemia PGT on Vietnamese population

    Get PDF
We determined polychlorinated dibenzodioxin (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofuran (PCDF) levels in breast milk of 143 primiparae living around the three most dioxin-contaminated areas of Vietnam. The women sampled lived in the vicinity of former U.S. air bases at Bien Hoa (n. =. 51), Phu Cat (n. =. 23), and Da Nang (n. =. 69), which are known as dioxin hotspots. Breast milk samples from Bien Hoa City, where residents live very close to the air base, showed high levels of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), with 18% of the samples containing >. 5. pg. TCDD/g lipid. However, Phu Cat residents lived far from the air base and their samples showed lower TCDD levels, with none containing >. 5. pg. TCDD/g lipid. In Da Nang, TCDD levels in mothers from Thanh Khe (close to the air base, n. =. 43) were significantly higher than those in mothers from Son Tra (far from the air base, n. =. 26), but not other PCDD and PCDF (PCDD/F) congeners. Although TCDD levels in Bien Hoa were the highest among these hotspots, levels of other PCDD/F congeners as well as the geometric mean concentration of total PCDD/F level in Bien Hoa (9.3. pg toxic equivalents [TEQ]/g lipid) were significantly lower than the level observed in Phu Cat (14.1. pg. TEQ/g lipid), Thanh Khe (14.3. pg. TEQ/g lipid), and Son Tra (13.9. pg. TEQ/g lipid). Our findings indicated that residents living close to former U.S. air bases were exposed to elevated levels of TCDD, but not of other PCDD/F congeners
