Determination of functional capacity of dentoalveolar apparatus in dental patients with temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction
This paper presents data on functional state of masticatory muscles in dental patients with temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Total 128 dental patients with clinical signs of temporomandibular joint dysfunction have been examined using a visual analog scale, the Helkimo clinical index and the magnetic resonance imagin
Noninvasive method for determining the physical and mechanical characteristics of patients biological tissues
Morphological and biomechanical structure features of organs and tissues of the maxilla-facial area play the decisive role in the development of pathological processes and diseases. Understanding of their mutual influence while functioning and damage is one of the main points for a correct diagnosis, adequate treatment planning and rehabilitatio
Quality assessment of endodontic treatment in patients, passed tomography examination in Belgorod
The purpose of root canals treatment is the maintenance (re-creation) of aseptic in the system of dentinal tubules, preventing the infection contamination of periapical tissues. Before the creation of cone-beam computed tomography, pre-operative estimation of the roots and periapical area, planned for operational impacts, had some difficulties, caused by projection distortion
Prerequisites to the formation the concepts of "reversible" and "irreversible" tooth stability
There is a concept of "tooth stability", which, according to dentists, is ensured by the state of periodontal tissue and alveolar bone. When discussing this concept, the experts draw attention to the interdental ligament, passing over the tops of the interdental partitions and connecting the adjacent teeth with the bundle of connective tissue fibers, as well as the severity of interproximal contacts, the teeth axes direction that forms the compensatory curves, and the ratio of intra- and extraalveolar parts of teet
Improvement of bactericidal properties of bentonite by means of sodium carbonate
Ecological expediency conditions the necessity to make research of raw materials base and to use for medical purposes those mineral resources which were not subjected to modifications due to aggressive chemical action. Development and sale of pharmaceutical forms with optimal pharmacokinetic characteristics which would not induce occurrence of resistant bacteria population and sensitization of a body is a perspective trend in pharmaceutical engineerin
Preclinical manifestations of students’ eating disorders as an impact of the information and communication university environment
Students’ eating disorders include conditions and diseases characterized by irregular foods intake accomplished by stable anxiety effect regarding the mass and shape of their bodies. Additional visits as a factor determining the psychoemotional status of a dentist and a patient requiring endodontic treatment
The possibility of achieving effective communication that optimizes interpersonal relations between the doctor and the patient along with the formation of manual skills is one of the most important aspects of dental education. The paper presents the results of the survey of 58 second-year resident physicians and 64 dentists with more than 5 years of work experienc
The method of surgical access while treatment of nonclostridial anaerobic infections of soft tissues of tongue and oral cavity floor
The author analyzed the methods of operational interventions in the area of soft tissues of oral cavity floor and tongue while treatment of nonclostridial anaerobic infections. Twenty-nine of the forty-two analyzed patients were operated, using the authors’ method of T-shaped incision. The number of lethal outcomes has decreased almost twice. Treatment results allow us to recommend the proposed method for wider use in clinical practic
Anatomical and physiological basis of the reduced occlusion syndrome
Decrease in the interalveolar distance (IAD) that develops during a period of permanent occlusion as a result of progressive primary dental diseases: Increased abrasion of hard tissues of the teeth, extensive edentulous space, and generalized form of periodontitis is accompanied by morphofunctional changes in the masticatory muscles and the development of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. The objective of the study was to identify development mechanisms of the reduced occlusion syndrome that develops as a result of decrease in the IAD caused by primary dental disease
