The Great Game that Never Ends: China emerges as leading player in Kazakhstan

    Get PDF
Kazakhstan occupies a unique geopolitical position in Eurasia. Kazakhstan has gradually emerged as a regional power as a result of its economic progress and „multi-vector‟ foreign policy. China‟s policy in Kazakhstan is linked to its larger strategic and geo-political interests following the disintegration of the former USSR. China‟s economic policy is also largely based on its energy security needs and search for a market for its finished goods. Simultaneously, there is also a fear among Chinese policy makers with regard to the „opening up „of its north western frontier towards the Muslim Republics of Central Asia as it involves the risk of Islamic fundamentalism and cross-border ethnic separatism that may pose grave threat to China‟s national security. China has achieved a significant advantage over any potential competitor and has created an important infrastructure base in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan‟s foreign cooperation with Russia or the West will no longer change this trend of increased interaction with China

Higgs production in bottom quark annihilation: Transverse momentum distribution at NNLO+NNLL

We present the inclusive transverse momentum distribution for Higgs bosons produced in bottom quark annihilation at the LHC. The results are obtained in the five-flavor scheme. The soft and collinear terms at small pTp_T are resummed through NNLL accuracy and matched to the NNLO transverse momentum distribution at large pTp_T. We find that the theoretical uncertainty, derived from a variation of the unphysical scales entering the calculation, is significantly reduced with respect to lower orders.Comment: 35 pages, 22 figure

W+WW^+W^- production in Large extra dimension model at next-to-leading order in QCD at the LHC

We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to production of two WW bosons in hadronic collisions in the extra dimension ADD model. Various kinematical distributions are obtained to order αs\alpha_s in QCD by taking into account all the parton level subprocesses. We estimate the impact of the QCD corrections on various observables and find that they are significant. We also show the reduction in factorization scale uncertainty when O(αs){\cal O}(\alpha_s) effects are included.Comment: Journal versio

Distributed environment is an invoking idea in computer field since it gave permissions that the assets to be purveyed according to the client needs 1 The paper addresses the system of arrangement of a private cloud in improving the practical furthest reaches of cloud processing at compelled states of arrangement It is the review of all previous research based on Private Cloud using Eucalyptus It gives benefits on virtual machines where the client impart assets programming and different gadgets on interest Cloud administrations are backed with proprietor and Open Source Systems OSS As Restrictive items remain exceptionally costly clients unable to permitted test on their item and protection is a significant affair in it Cloud registering frameworks in a broad sense give access to expansive pools of information and computational assets through a mixed bag of interfaces These sorts of frameworks offer another programming focus for versatile application engineers and have picked up ubiquity over the recent years Then again most distributed computing frameworks in operation today are exclusive depend upon base that is undetectable to the research group or are not unequivocally intended to be instrumented and adjusted by frameworks specialist

Unparticle physics in diphoton production at the CERN LHC

We have considered the di-photon production with unparticle at LHC. The contributions of spin-0 and spin-2 unparticle to the di-photon production are studied in the invariant mass and other kinematical distributions, along with their dependencies on the model dependent parameters. The signal corresponding to the unparticle is significant for moderate coupling constant values.Comment: 17 pages, 15 eps figure

Lab-on-Chip Microdevices for Capturing, Imaging and Counting White Blood Cells.

White blood cells (WBCs) and their subtypes are important constituents of the human immune system as their concentration, quantified by a WBC count test, indicates the state of body’s immune response against infections. These cell count tests are important prognostic and diagnostic indicators for a number of human immunological diseases, most prominent of them being AIDS. Flow cytometry (FC) is the gold standard for counting WBCs. Although high throughput and accurate, FC based instruments are bulky, expensive and require skillful and trained personnel for their operation and maintenance. This necessitates the development of inexpensive, portable point-of-care (POC) systems for capturing and enumerating WBCs and their subtypes. We envision a portable, point-of-care WBC counting system which can capture thousands of WBCs and simultaneously image and count them. Towards this end, we have developed: - A microfluidic biochip for trapping and counting WBCs. The biochip has a novel 3D cell trapping architecture and enables simultaneous capture and counting of thousands of WBCs. A WBC trapping efficiency of ~90% is achieved using the biochip. - Microlens arrays with a large field of view (FOV) imaging capability that have an optical performance (numerical aperture, resolution) equivalent to a conventional microscope objective. We envision that the cell trapping biochip and the microlens arrays proposed in this thesis can be integrated to perform simultaneous on-chip capture and imaging/counting of WBCs. The integrated microsystem can also be used as a generic platform for sorting and enumeration of different kinds of cells for disease diagnosis and research applications.PHDMechanical EngineeringUniversity of Michigan, Horace H. Deciphering colour building blocks of massive multiparton amplitudes at 4-loops and beyond

    Get PDF
The soft function in non-abelian gauge theories exponentiate, and their logarithms can be organised in terms of the collections of Feynman diagrams called Cwebs. The colour factors that appear in the logarithm are controlled by the web mixing matrices. Direct construction of the diagonal blocks of Cwebs using the new concepts of Normal ordering, basis Cweb and Fused-Web was recently carried out in [1]. In this article we establish correspondence between the boomerang webs introduced in [2] and non-boomerang Cwebs. We use this correspondence together with Uniqueness theorem and Fused web formalism introduced in [1] to obtain the diagonal blocks of four general classes of Cwebs to all orders in perturbation theory which also cover all the four loop Boomerang Cwebs connecting four Wilson lines. We also fully construct the mixing matrix of a special Cweb to all orders in perturbation theory

Turkmenistan's Positive Neutrality and Its Bilateral Relations: Special Focus on India

    Get PDF
Turkmenistan is a Central Asian country that largely depends upon agriculture and is enriched with natural resources like natural gas, petroleum, salt, and sulphur. The country has the sixth-largest natural gas reserves. Since its independence in 1991, the country follows a ‘positive neutrality' policy to avoid external interference in its domestic affairs. The country always acts as a mediator to maintain peace and stability. During the period of Niyazov, he used this neutrality policy to enforce his control over the country and isolate the country from the rest of the world. With the entry of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow into power in 2006, he tried to liberalize the economy as well as maintain the neutrality policy. So the ‘positive neutrality' adopted by Turkmenistan has had a different impact on its economy during different periods. Along with the isolationist policy, on one hand, Turkmenistan also emphasizes maintaining bilateral relations with other countries. This study is an attempt to analyze Turkmenistan's ‘positive neutrality' policy and its bilateral relations with the other countries with a special focus on India. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.431863
