Consumer ethnocentrism, cosmopolitanism, product judgment, and foreign product purchase intention: An empirical study in Vietnam
This study aims to determine the relationship between consumer ethnocentrism, consumer cosmopolitanism, imported product judgment, and foreign product purchase intention in Vietnam. This paper tries to present its results empirically, which might be helpful in preparing a strategy for Vietnamese customers’ international purchasing behavior to increase competition at retail companies in Vietnam. It uses a questionnaire with a purposive random sampling of 311 customers in Vietnam. Analysis was conducted through a quantitative descriptive analysis, measurement of variable dimensions on the questionnaire using a seven-point Likert scale, and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. This study found that imported product judgment, consumer cosmopolitanism, social influence, and perceived behavioral control positively influence foreign product purchase intention, whereas customer ethnocentrism has a negative impact on that intention. The association between consumer cosmopolitanism and foreign product purchase intention is mediated by imported product evaluation and consumer ethnocentrism. At the same time, national identity does not affect consumer ethnocentrism and foreign product purchase intentions. Besides, this study offers some managerial implications for marketers in decisions linked to Vietnamese customers’ international purchasing behavior to increase competition in the domestic market.

Effects of Internal Factors on Financial Performance of Listed Construction-Material Companies: The Case of Vietnam
The research aims to assess internal factors affecting to financial performance so that feasible suggestions could be provided for construction-material firms which are currently listing in the stock market of Vietnam. The authors applied regression for panel data which collected from 30 listed construction-material firms. The findings show that firms’ financial performance are positively affected by the firms’ size, capital structure, capitalization expenditure, and accounts receivable management. The research results also reflect positive relation between firms’ financial performance and business risk. Upon the research results we recommend that the changes should be focus on improving policies about capitalization expenditure; reasonable capital structure and management of inventories. From Negative Aspects and Black Aspects of Vietnam Education to Lessons for Social Sciences Students
In our research, we level strong criticism at the State Professor Council in Vietnam, using the case of Tran Van Tho and other members as a representative illustration of their efforts to impede or restrict the growth of the nation's scientific community. We also do not place enough importance on the publication of bogus news online by various Vietnam publications (Thanhnien.vn and Tuoitre.vn), despite the fact that it may lead to confusion, as well as problems and concern in the community. In addition, we oppose the excessive tuition fees and other expenses that have been imposed by Banking University HCM city Vietnam and other institutions in HCM city in recent years, which have caused difficulties for families, parents, students, and society as a whole. In addition, we use these problematic aspects of the education system in Vietnam as a case study to instruct students majoring in social sciences. After that, the authors apply a strategy based on the laws of Malaysia in order to solve the problem of fake news published in the newspapers tuoi tre and thanh nien in Vietnam throughout the period 2015-2022. After the case discussion that was offered earlier, the authors assess the opinions of President Ho Chi Minh on publishing activities for the purpose of better teaching pupils. This is not the least of the authors' contributions
Drought stress - related functional characterization of transcription factor GmNAC085 in soybean
Studies on soybean GmNAC085 transcription factor revealed that the gene expression in plants was induced by water shortage treatments and its overexpression in the model plant Arabidopsis displayed improved plant tolerance characteristics towards drought stress. In this study, we continued analyzing the biological functions of GmNAC085 using transgenic soybean system overexpressing GmNAC085 gene, by targeting at a number of plant physiological features and biochemical activities in response to limited water growing condition. Compared to the wild-type, the transgenic line demonstrated that it possessed stress tolerance characters, including enhanced elongation of taproot, minimized reduction of shoot growth, lower intracellular H2O2 content and stronger peroxidase enzyme activity under drought condition. The results of this study therefore suggest the transgenic plants had better drought tolerance and the GmNAC085 plays important role in aiding plants to cope with water deficit condition, probably via regulating the growth of roots and shoots, and activities of reactive-oxygen-species- scavenging enzymes

Determinants Influencing Quality of Finance and Accounting Education: The Case Study of Vietnam
The quality of undergraduate program in general and in the discipline of finance and accounting in particular is one of the big concerned issues in society. For a long time, Vietnam has trained a large number of bachelor students which exceeds the real needs, especially in the field of economics. In the dimension of this study, we investigate the impact levels of determinants on quality of financial and accounting education in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Data were collected by receiving questionnaire feedbacks from students of Trade Union University of Vietnam. By employing the tests of Cronbach’s Alpha, exploratory factor analysis and multivariate regression, the results show that four determinants including (i) role of trainers, (ii) innovation of the training program, (iii) applying information technology; (iv) and social behavior skills of students influence positively the quality of education in the field of finance and accounting. Egg-lying behavior of Anisopteromalus calandrae (Howard), an Ectoparasitoid of Lasioderma serricorne (Fabricius)
This paper describes the egg-laying behavior and reproduction capacity of Anisopteromalus calandrae in laboratory conditions. Anisopteromalus calandrae lay eggs only on the Lasioderma serricorne larvae hiden inside of grains or nests. The maximum lifespan of A. calandrae females was 32 days when they were kept with of aqua feed flour plus honey (30%) and infested with larvae of Lasioderma serricorne. One female laid 71.13 ± 4.24 eggs. The eggs were laid mostly (81.95%) during the first half of the lifespan, with the peak of 7.40 eggs/day on the 9th day. The females usually lay one egg/host larva, but sometimes they lay 2-5 eggs/host larva. They prefer to lay eggs on the 4th larval instar. Citation: Nguyen Thi Oanh, Tran Ngoc Lan, Truong Xuan Lam, 2017.
