    The Impact of Cash Flow Statement of Listed Firms on the Decision of Investors

    This resarch is conducted for investigating the impact of cash flow statements on investors' decisions in an inefficient information market like Vietnam. Data were collected from the opinion of 150 investors in the stock market in which 75 investors received information on cash flow statement and 75 investors did not receive information of cash flow statement. We employ descriptive statistics and T-tests to examine the impact of cash flow statements on investors' decisions as well as investor confidence in the lack of information of cash flow statement. The results show that cash flow statement had no effect on investors' decisions but the lack of information on the cash flow statement reduced the confidence in making decisions. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given to investors who need to pay more attention to the cash flow statement in making decisions, and for firms that need to pay more attention to the supply information on cash flow statement.Keywords: Cash flow statement, Decision of the Investor, Inefficient marketDOI: 10.7176/RJFA/10-8-10Publication date: April 30th 201

    Total Factor Productivity Growth, Technical Progress and Efficiency Change in Vietnam Coal Industry – Nonparametric Approach

    This research applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach to analyse Total Factor Productivity (TFP) and efficiency changes in Vietnam coal mining industry from 2007 to 2013. The Malmquist productivity measures were decomposed into two components: technical change index and efficiency change index. The results indicate that TFP of Vietnam coal mining firms decreased due to slow technological progress and unimproved efficiency. The decadence of technical efficiency in many firms proved that the coal mining industry has a large potential to increase productivity through technical efficiency improvement. Enhancing human resource training, technology and research & development investment could help the industry to improve efficiency and productivity in Vietnam coal mining industry.     The Demand for Cost Management Accounting Information: The Case of Vietnamese Construction Firms

    This study is conducted for assessing the demand for information in cost management accounting of managers in Vietnamese construction firms. Data were collected from 161 construction firms in Vietnam. Basing on quantitative research method, the differences in demand for cost information between domestic and foreign construction contract management were investigated. The result indicates that the management of construction contracts that have foreign factors requires cost information with higher level and quality. In particular, managers have a high demand for estimated and analyzed cost information in the investment decision-making process. On the other hand, the demand for cost information depends on the firm size and management level. Through this finding, some recommendations are given for improving the expense management accounting with a view to meeting the information demand of managers in the context of integration.     Differences of Items in the Financial Statements of FDI Firms under Vietnamese Accounting and International Accounting

    This study is conducted to investigate the differences of items in the financial statements of FDI Firms under to Vietnamese Accounting and International Accounting (IAS/IFRS). Data were collected by conducting surveys of FDI firms, independent audit firms from 2015 to 2017. Descriptive analysis and T-test have been employed to measure the differences among items in the financial statements under Vietnamese and international accounting. The result shows that there is a significant difference in recording, measuring and reporting items in the financial statements of FDI firms under Vietnamese and international accounting. Based on the results, some suggestions have been given for reducing the gap between Vietnamese accounting and international accounting, including financial statements.     Sustainable Development of Enterprises: Barriers and Policy Recommendations

    Enterprise development towards sustainability is a strategy that needs to set for enterprises if all existing and long-term development in the context of deeper integration and intense competition. In order to achieve the objective of sustainable development of enterprises, on the one hand, there is a need for changes of enterprises themselves, on the other hand, need to be oriented and supported by the state. In the context of open economy and fierce competition, Vietnamese enterprises have encountered barriers to the implementation of sustainable development. This study gives the concepts of sustainable enterprise development that emphasizes enterprise development activities. Then, from the identification and multidimensional analysis of these barriers, recommendations have been proposed to unravel in order to achieve the goal of sustainable enterprise development in the coming time.     Labor and Its Efficiency in Equitized State-owned Enterprises in Vietnam

    This study is conducted for evaluating changes in labor efficiency of state-owned enterprises after equitization. Data were collected from audited financial statements and reports of labor and average income in 138 state owned enterprises after equitization. After calculating labor efficiency according to revenue and earnings of enterprises in the sample, we apply the comparative method for labor, average income and labor efficiency before and after equitization. Then, we use the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to compare the fluctuation in the ratios between two years after equitization with one year prior to equitization. The results show that after equitization, enterprises achieve an increase in average number of labor, improved average labor income and enhanced labor efficiency. This research aims to give an overview of the theories of project manager leadership competence, the viewpoints of evaluation of the project's success, and the views on the influence of leadership competences and the success of the project. Research on the use of reliable secondary document sources in the world is synthesized from research works, scientific reports in the field of project management. The results of this study show that there is a great deal of research literature on project manager leadership competence and the success of the project in general but not many research papers on construction projects. This research is intended to suggest further studies to determine the specific influences, from that the training direction will increase the project management competence in the field of construction

    The Roles of Agricultual Cooperatives in Linking Small Farmers to Set up Large Paddy Fields in Mekong Delta

    Agricultural cooperatives play a significant role in linking small farmers to set up large paddy fields in the Mekong Delta. Agricultural cooperatives’ association for establishment of big paddy fields allows firms to purchase secured raw materials in mass quantities, ensuring quality while reducing related costs. Farmers are able to cut down the cost of production, sell products more effectively by gaining economy of scale and have higher position and influence over the businesses. In order to enhance the role of agricultural cooperatives in linking small farmers to establish large paddy fields in the Mekong Delta, it is necessary to synchronously implement the following solutions such as (i) improving mechanisms and policies for agricultural cooperatives to promote their role in farmer linkage to set up large paddy fields; (ii) strengthening the capacity of agricultural cooperatives management staff; iii) strengthening the role of agricultural cooperatives’ representing member farmer households in carrying out the association with firms in setting up big paddy fields.     Determinants Influencing Consumers’ Attitude Towards Online Shopping: An Extension of the Technology Acceptance Model

    This research is conducted for investigating determinants influencing consumers’ attitude towards online shopping. The survey was based on 423 Vietnamese Internet users. Data collected was analyzed in accordance with the process from Cronbach's Alpha to EFA and multiple regression technique. The results show that consumers’ attitude towards online shopping was impacted by perceived usefulness, compatibility and trust. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given for retailers to improve customers’ attitude toward online shopping in the context of Vietnam in particular and in emerging countries in general.     Impact of Farmers’ Adoption of Good Agricultural Products on Total Factor Productivity Change: The Case of Grape and Apple Production in Vietnam

    Development of agricultural production with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards is an objective trend of sustainable agriculture. This research employed data envelopment analysis (DEA) and ordinary least square (OLS) Regression to quantify impact of farmers’ adoption of GAP on the Total Factor Productivity Change (TFPCH) in investment in grape and apple production in Ninh Thuan of Vietnam.  The results show that farmers’ adoption of GAP positively influenced on increase on total factor productivity.
