Asymptotics of a Class of Solutions to the Cylindrical Toda Equations
The small t asymptotics of a class of solutions to the 2D cylindrical Toda
equations is computed. The solutions, q_k(t), have the representation q_k(t) =
log det(I-lambda K_k) - log det(I-lambda K_{k-1}) where K_k are integral
operators. This class includes the n-periodic cylindrical Toda equations. For
n=2 our results reduce to the previously computed asymptotics of the 2D radial
sinh-Gordon equation and for n=3 (and with an additional symmetry contraint)
they reduce to earlier results for the radial Bullough-Dodd equation.Comment: 29 pages, no figures, LaTeX fil
A New Species of \u3ci\u3eHydrochara\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) from the Western Great Lakes Region
A new species Hydrochara simula (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) is described from Wis- consin and separated from other western Great Lakes species by a key. It is similar to H. obtusata (Say) and H. soror Smetana, but males can be easily recognized by a dorso-basal concavity of the aedeagus. Females can be distinguished from H. obtusata and H. soror by the more elongate penultimate segment of the maxillary palpus and other less consistent characters
The Female of \u3ci\u3eGraphoderus Manitobensis\u3c/i\u3e With Notes on Identification of Female \u3ci\u3eGraphoderus\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae)
Ten male and II female Graphoderus manitobensis were collected in April and May, 1980 and 1981 from a pond 16 kIn west of Madison, WI. Females can be distinguished from female G. fascicollis (Harris) by their much narrower metastemal wings and more pronounced conugated sculpturing on the pronotum. The SCUlpturing and markings on the pronorum. width of the metastemal wings, and projections at the base of the ovipositer are used to identify females of G. manitobensis and three closely related species
On ASEP with Step Bernoulli Initial Condition
This paper extends results of earlier work on ASEP to the case of step
Bernoulli initial condition. The main results are a representation in terms of
a Fredholm determinant for the probability distribution of a fixed particle,
and asymptotic results which in particular establish KPZ universality for this
probability in one regime. (And, as a corollary, for the current fluctuations.)Comment: 16 pages. Revised version adds references and expands the

Current moments of 1D ASEP by duality
We consider the exponential moments of integrated currents of 1D asymmetric
simple exclusion process using the duality found by Sch\"utz. For the ASEP on
the infinite lattice we show that the th moment is reduced to the problem of
the ASEP with less than or equal to particles.Comment: 13 pages, no figur
Q-Dependent Susceptibilities in Ferromagnetic Quasiperiodic Z-Invariant Ising Models
We study the q-dependent susceptibility chi(q) of a series of quasiperiodic
Ising models on the square lattice. Several different kinds of aperiodic
sequences of couplings are studied, including the Fibonacci and silver-mean
sequences. Some identities and theorems are generalized and simpler derivations
are presented. We find that the q-dependent susceptibilities are periodic, with
the commensurate peaks of chi(q) located at the same positions as for the
regular Ising models. Hence, incommensurate everywhere-dense peaks can only
occur in cases with mixed ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic interactions or if
the underlying lattice is aperiodic. For mixed-interaction models the positions
of the peaks depend strongly on the aperiodic sequence chosen.Comment: LaTeX2e, 26 pages, 9 figures (27 eps files). v2: Misprints correcte
