"A Semi-group Expansion for Pricing Barrier Options"
This paper presents a new asymptotic expansion method for pricing continuously monitoring barrier options. In particular, we develops a semi-group expansion scheme for the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem in the second-order parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) arising in barrier option pricing. As an application, we propose a concrete approximation formula under a stochastic volatility model and demonstrate its validity by some numerical experiments.
Social Interaction and Atypical Sensory Processing in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
SummaryObjective/BackgroundMany children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) have sensory processing disorders (SPDs), which may limit many facets of daily life, including social interaction, an important domain of occupational therapy. Therefore, we examined the relationship between social interaction deficits and SPD in 4ā6-year-old children with ASD without intellectual disorders.MethodsThe Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS) and the Japanese Sensory Inventory-Revised (JSI-R) questionnaires were administered to parents of children with ASD and children in the control group (nĀ =Ā 42 each).ResultsResponse analyses revealed significant intergroup differences in scores for the questionnaires, with more atypical sensory processing patterns and social interaction deficits observed in children with ASD. Significant correlations were observed between the SRS total raw scores and subcategory scores of all sensory modalities of the JSI-R in the entire experimental group. The SPD symptoms were significantly associated with social interaction deficits in children with ASD.ConclusionIt is important that occupational therapists consider SPD symptoms in children with ASD to provide early intervention for social interaction deficits

High-performance Computation of Kubo Formula with Vectorization of Batched Linear Algebra Operation
We have proposed a method to accelerate the computation of Kubo formula
optimized to vector processors. The key concept is parallel evaluation of
multiple integration points, enabled by batched linear algebra operations.
Through benchmark comparisons between the vector-based NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA
and the scalar-based Xeon machines in node performance, we verified that the
vectorized implementation was speeded up to approximately 2.2 times faster than
the baseline. We have also shown that the performance improvement due to
padding, indicating that avoiding the memory-bank conflict is critically
important in this type of task.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, 1 table, 2 list
"Public Debt and Economic Growth in an Aging Japan"
This@paper@examines@the@effects of the demographic change and the government debt policy in Japan on economic growth and economic welfare, particularly by taking into account the existing public pension scheme as well as national medical expenditure through the existing public health insurance, wherea computational overlapping generations model is used within a general equilibrium context. One of the main results of this paper is that the tax burden (GDP) ratio will increase up to about 36%, and the social security burden (GDP) ratio will increase up to 23.3% in 2050, even though the government tries to have a positive primary balance by 2010. The ratio of public health insurance bene?ts to GDP is expected to increase at 1% every 10years, and the ratio will be around 9.6%in 2050. The 2004 public pension reform will successfully result in a 13 point decrease in the contribution rate from 36.44% to 23.53%, and reduce the social security burden (GDP) ratio by about 8 points from 23.27% to 15.02% in 2050, compared with the benchmark case.

Spectral Energy Distributions of Active Galactic Nuclei from an Accretion Disk with Advective Coronal Flow
To explain the broad-band spectral energy distributions (SED) of Seyfert
nuclei and QSOs, we study the emission spectrum emerging from a vertical
disk-corona structure composed of a two-temperature plasma by solving
hydrostatic equilibrium and radiative transfer self-consistently. Our model can
nicely reproduce the soft X-ray excess with alpha (L_frequency proportional to
the frequency to the power of -alpha) of about 1.5 and the hard tail extending
to about 50 keV with alpha about 0.5. The different spectral slopes (alpha
about 1.5 below 2 keV and about 0.5 above) are the results of different
emission mechanisms: unsaturated Comptonization in the former and a combination
of Comptonization, bremsstrahlung, and reflection of the coronal radiation at
the disk-corona boundary in the latter.Comment: Contributed talk presented at the Joint MPE,AIP,ESO workshop on

Autoantibodies to low-density-lipoprotein-receptor-related protein 2 (LRP2) in systemic autoimmune diseases
We previously reported that autoantibodies (autoAbs) to the main epitope on CD69 reacted to its homologous amino acid sequence in low-density-lipoprotein-receptor-related protein 2 (LPR2), a multiligand receptor for protein reabsorption. In this study, we have investigated the prevalence, autoepitope distribution, and clinical significance of the autoAbs to LRP2 in patients with systemic autoimmune diseases. Using six recombinant proteins (F2āF7) for LRP2 and one for CD69, we detected autoAbs to LRP2 in sera of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus, BehƧet's disease, systemic sclerosis, and osteoarthritis and then mapped autoepitopes by Western blotting. The autoAbs to LRP2 were detected in 87% of the patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 40% of those with systemic lupus erythematosus, 35% of those with systemic sclerosis, 15% of those with osteoarthritis, and 3% of those with BehƧet's disease. Multiple epitopes on LRP2 were recognized by most of the anti-LRP2(+ )serum samples. All of the tested anti-CD69 autoAb(+ )samples reacted to LRP2-F3 containing the homologous sequence to the main epitope of CD69; however, only 38% of the anti-LRP2-F3(+ )samples reacted to CD69. Clinically, the existence of the autoAbs to LRP2-F4, -F5, and -F6 correlated with the presence of proteinuria in RA. This study revealed that LRP2 is a major autoantigen in RA. The autoAbs to LRP2 are probably produced by the antigen-driven mechanism and the autoimmunity to LRP2 may spread to include CD69. The anti-LRP2 autoAbs may play pathological roles by inhibiting the reabsorbing function of LRP2
The supposition of the mechanism of escitalopram makes a dopamine nerve activity rise by inhibiting corticotropinreleasing factor to the non-organic-pain ļ½A SSRI application is desirable for a non-organic-painļ½
Although escitalopram (ESC) is no having dopamine (DA) transporter (DAT) inhibitory-action, having dopamine nerve (A10 nerve) stimulus operation by the ESC used basic experiment is reported. We supposed the mechanism that the DA increases and it supposed the mechanism that makes a non-organic pain disappear with ā 5-HT reinforcement of the descending pain modulatory system, ā”the opioid receptor activation with the descending pain modulatory system, ā¢negative emotion block from the amygdala and the hippocampus to the nucleus accumbens, ā£5-HT1A receptor stimulation from the activation of the amygdala, ā¤DA-phasic activity activation. As a result ā£ and ā¤ two items were an operation with a main restraint mechanism of a nonorganic-pain. ESC is different from other SSRIs, and we know that ESC make a DA increase at the VTA. We supposed amygdala that a functional depression declined by corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) is improved with ā£ and ā¢. After DA stimulate by A10 nerve, DA is undergone metabolic change to, and the endogenous opioid peptide (Ī²endorphin) is made
