COMPARISON OF PERCEPTION OF PRIVATE LABELS BETWEEN STUDENTS STUDYING IN THEIR PLACE OF RESIDENCE AND STUDENTS STUDYING OUTSIDE THEIR PLACE OF RESIDENCE
In order to be more successful and achieve higher profits, supermarket chains have recognized and used the possibility of creating their own brands. Creating private labels, modeled after manufacturerās products, enables differentiation from competitors, market competition, sales growth by accumulating new buyers and gaining their loyalty. In recent years, the trend of private label consumption in the Republic of Croatia has grown and positive perception has been created. Apart from lower price, which has been the most significant advantage, buyersā perception has lately been focused on the benefit with regard to their investment. As the private label is bought by various consumer categories, this paper focuses on the segment of students. The aim of this paper is to research how a place of study in relation to the place of residence of students has an impact on the perception of private labels. The primary research was conducted on two groups, namely students studying outside their place of residence and students studying in their place of residence aged from 18 to 26. Furthermore, the study analyzes studentsā shopping habits, the influence of other individuals on students in the final decision on buying as well as preferences of the respondents to a particular private label
The Role and Significance of EU Funds for the Republic of Croatia
The Republic of Croatia was granted the official candidate country status for the membership in the European Union on 18 June 2004. Thus it gained the opportunity to use pre-accession funds aimed at helping the candidates to bring their institutions and standards in line with the EU legislation. Nevertheless, full EU membership will bring further major changes. The paper presents a survey conducted on 106 respondents, which intended to establish how familiar people are with the topic of project management, EU funds and possibilities afforded by those funds. The problems currently noticeable in Croatia arise from high unemployment, lack of highly skilled personnel and their high turnover, low level of information and experience, coupled with risk aversion and fear of project failure. The consequence is less than full preparedness for taking advantage of all the available funding. Following full EU membership Croatia will gain access to the
Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund which provide numerous opportunities for financing of infrastructural projects such as roads, railways and waterways, social development, retraining for the unemployed and creating new jobs, youth mobility, promoting diversity, environment protection and alternative energy sources. This requires a fair number of well-informed and trained people, capable of writing a good project and of implementing it in line with EU procedures. It is therefore imperative for the government and public institutions to invest into training of both the general public and potential future experts
The application of the CAPM model on selected shares on the Croatian capital market
The Capital Asset Pricing Model is a model that describes the relationship between risk, expected return
and valuation of securities. The theoretical and practical value of this model has proved unquestionable,
but under ideal circumstances. The theory has been utilized by numerous researchers and it confirms the
linear relationship between risk and return under the CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) model showing
that greater exposure to risk provides higher returns. However, empirical research showed there were
numerous factors that CAPM model did not take into account since it is based on assumptions which exist
in reality, but are invisible.
Therefore, it is very interesting to study the application of the CAPM model on selected shares on the Croatian
capital market and analyze the possibilities of its application in discovering the misvalued shares. Share
price changes on the Croatian capital market suggest there are some unknown factors that also influence
share valuation. There is no doubt that the fundamental analysis of shares is not sufficient for evaluating
the real share value in light of various invisible elements and all available information available which affect
their value as well

UspjeÅ”na primjena zelenog marketinga zahtjeva uz postojanje odreÄenih gospodarskih, politiÄkih i zakonodavnih preduvjeta i sveobuhvatnu i dinamiÄnu bazu znanja o ponaÅ”anjima i oÄekivanjima hrvatskih zelenih potroÅ”aÄa.
Financial management as a tool for sustainable development of non-proļ¬t sports organizations ā analysis of futsal competitions in Eastern Croatia
The aim of this paper is to establish the impact of revenue and expenditure management on sports events organized by non-profit sports organizations. The subject of the case study is futsal, a team sport known also as five-a-side football which is popular at the recreational level in the Republic of Croatia, has a long history and relatively low organizational costs. The geographical area of the analysis includes five eastern counties of the Republic of Croatia, while the analyzed format of the competition is the one where teams compete for several months, i.e., an entire season. These are amateur competitions where the goal set by the organizer is the development and popularization of the sport, rather than profit. The primary research included in-depth interviews with responsible persons within county football centers and subsequently the organizers of the competitions being held. After the information was obtained, the revenue and expenditure structure, as well as costs of an individual team per played match, were analyzed. Based on this information, through secondary research, publicly available data on individual costs when organizing a sports competition were obtained, and a projection of a sustainable budget was made by balancing its revenue and expenditure aspects. The analysis of the expenditure structure established fixed and variable costs as well as their effect on project sustainability. In accordance with all the results obtained, the main factors of financial difficulties for the sports organizations organizing such competitions were detected, while the conclusion suggests several specific measures possible for overcoming such difficulties
