Study of properties of Aegle Marmelos Reinforced Composite Fiber

    Get PDF
Natural particulate and natural fibre composites have attracted substantial importance as a potential structural material. Different types of composite have different characteristics depends up on their composition. The fundamental properties of composite material is that they are cheap and eco friendly. Composites are low cost light in weight, biodegradable and renewable and completely or partially recyclable. Due to these attractive properties of the composite material there is a need to further explore the possibility of new natural particulate to be used as reinforcement in polymer composites. In this paper, Aegle Marmelos (locally known as Bel) is taken as natural fiber for analyzing. This paper mainly concentrates on made to prepare and study the mechanical and environmental behaviour of Aegle Marmelos Reinforced Composite Fiber. This paper also focuses on evaluation of the mechanical properties like impact strength of Aegle Marmelos fiber composites using different tests

How the global airline industry behaved to restrictions on air travel to India? An event study analysis

    Get PDF
We examine the impact of the recent restrictions/bans imposed by several nations on air travel to India in the light of the increasing number of infections amid the second wave of covid-19. We employ the standard event study method on a sample of 34 airline stocks across seven nations to find that the recent restrictions/ bans on air travel significantly impact the global airline industry, although the country-specific impacts are not similar. We find that the post-event reaction in all nations has been different from those evidenced during the global pandemic declaration. We are the first to examine these impacts during the current wave of the pandemic. It contributes to the literature on the effects of the pandemic on the global airline industry. Further, it also provides practical explanations to the investors on how the airline stocks react to the persistence of the pandemi

Daksha: On Alert for High Energy Transients

We present Daksha, a proposed high energy transients mission for the study of electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave sources, and gamma ray bursts. Daksha will comprise of two satellites in low earth equatorial orbits, on opposite sides of earth. Each satellite will carry three types of detectors to cover the entire sky in an energy range from 1 keV to >1 MeV. Any transients detected on-board will be announced publicly within minutes of discovery. All photon data will be downloaded in ground station passes to obtain source positions, spectra, and light curves. In addition, Daksha will address a wide range of science cases including monitoring X-ray pulsars, studies of magnetars, solar flares, searches for fast radio burst counterparts, routine monitoring of bright persistent high energy sources, terrestrial gamma-ray flashes, and probing primordial black hole abundances through lensing. In this paper, we discuss the technical capabilities of Daksha, while the detailed science case is discussed in a separate paper.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, 1 table. Science with the Daksha High Energy Transients Mission

We present the science case for the proposed Daksha high energy transients mission. Daksha will comprise of two satellites covering the entire sky from 1~keV to >1>1~MeV. The primary objectives of the mission are to discover and characterize electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational wave source; and to study Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). Daksha is a versatile all-sky monitor that can address a wide variety of science cases. With its broadband spectral response, high sensitivity, and continuous all-sky coverage, it will discover fainter and rarer sources than any other existing or proposed mission. Daksha can make key strides in GRB research with polarization studies, prompt soft spectroscopy, and fine time-resolved spectral studies. Daksha will provide continuous monitoring of X-ray pulsars. It will detect magnetar outbursts and high energy counterparts to Fast Radio Bursts. Using Earth occultation to measure source fluxes, the two satellites together will obtain daily flux measurements of bright hard X-ray sources including active galactic nuclei, X-ray binaries, and slow transients like Novae. Correlation studies between the two satellites can be used to probe primordial black holes through lensing. Daksha will have a set of detectors continuously pointing towards the Sun, providing excellent hard X-ray monitoring data. Closer to home, the high sensitivity and time resolution of Daksha can be leveraged for the characterization of Terrestrial Gamma-ray Flashes.Comment: 19 pages, 7 figures. Submitted to ApJ. 228 OPTIMIZATION OF FAILURE IN MACHINE PARTS BY HYBRID METHOD 377-381 1086

Abstract During the operation of these machine tools, different kinds of failures are faced by the industry. CNC machines into groups helps maintenance department to focus their attention to the machine that has high tendency to produce defect. A field failure analysis of computerized numerical control (CNC) lathes is described. Field failure data was collected over a period of one year on approximately ten CNC lathes. A coding system to code failure data was devised and a failure analysis data bank of CNC machine was established. The failure position and subsystem, failure mode and cause were analyzed to indicate the weak subsystem of a CNC lathe. If the machine producing the defect is inspected late, the damage caused might be large. Moreover, to remove this problem Hybrid method is use to identify machine failure

Factors associated with Diabetes Mellitus among Tuberculosis Patients attending Tertiary Care Hospital in Delhi, India

<p><strong>Background: </strong>Worldwide increasing prevalence of DM may counteract the positive effects of improved curative services for TB. <strong>Aims &amp; Objectives:</strong> To identify factors associated with Diabetes Mellitus among Tuberculosis Patients attending Tertiary Care Hospital in Delhi. <strong>Material &amp; Methods: </strong>This study was conducted among 220 TB patients. <strong>Results: </strong>It was found that 16% were co-morbid. Among co-morbid patients, the age distribution skewed towards higher age groups as compared with only TB patients. Co-morbidity was higher among females (64%) as compared to males (36%). Higher percentage among Co-morbid patients (78%) belonged to lower socio-economic class compared to TB patients (58%). Statistically significant association of comorbidity was found with physical activity, dietary habits and tobacco/alcohol consumption. However, only one third of patients who were aware about DM, knew that diabetic patients are more prone to acquire TB infection. Among co-morbid cases, only 50% were aware that uncontrolled DM delays the cure of TB. Findings also suggested that the sputum conversion rate among the co-morbid patients was low compared with the only TB patients. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The study concludes that counseling of patient with DM against higher risk of contracting TB and TB patients against delayed cure should be made as a part of national strategy to manage DM-TB comorbidity.</p

ABSTRACT Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (also known as Engineer&apos;s beam theory or classical beam theory) is a simplification of the linear theory of elasticity which provides a means of calculating the load carrying and deflection characteristics of beams. India is an immense medicinal plant repository, used in traditional medical treatments. The use of herbal medicine is growing day by day due to toxicity and allopathic drug effects. About 90 percent of the phytochemicals marketed come from wild resources and over 120 major phytochemistry come from plants. Aegle marmelos leaves contained π-sitosterol, aegelin, lupeol, rutin, marmesinine, flavone, glycoside, Oisopentenyl halfordiol, marmeline, and phenylethyl cinnamides. The additional growth promoters show its effect on tissue culture of plant
