    Signifikansi Papan Reklame di Pusat Kota Semarang

    Reklame merupakan salah satu alat komunikasi visual dalam lingkungan perkotaan dengan menggunakan tanda-tanda atau signage. Pemasangan reklame selain pada bangunan juga pada ruang terbuka. Pemasangan reklame pada berbagai lokasi dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak dengan tujuan mempromosikan sesuatu. Sebuah kota dengan ruang-ruang dan segenap tampilan visualnya juga merupakan sebuah wahana olah rasa dan pikiran yang memerlukan kepakaran desain dan kreatifitas, sehingga teori teori tentang estetika dapat diterapkan untuk menghasilkan kesan visual yang baik. Terutama dalam membagi secara proporsional berbagai kepentingan besar: wajah bangunan, wajah visual periklanan, lingkungan hijau, aktifitas dan berbagai elemen lain yang turut andil bagi terciptanya kota yang nyaman dan bermakna bagi warga penghuninya. Dari hal tersebut di atas, perlu kiranya dikaji signifikansi papan reklame sebagai penelitian awal untuk penyusunan pedoman penataan reklame: a) Apakah disain papan reklame yang ada di kota Semarang sudah mengacu pada sistem komunikasi visual; b) Bagaimana eksisting sistem visual di kota Semarang dengan keberadaan papan reklame; c) Apakah peraturan yang mengatur penataan papan reklame sudah mendukung terciptakan lingkungan yang lebih baik. Pada penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan komunikasi visual art dan persepsional dan dianalisis secara kualitatif. Aspek yang ditelaah mencakup apek: layout, sistem informasi dan efektifitas. Hasil temuan yang diperoleh: Belum ada kesesuaian antara elemen visual dan elemen teks sebagai pembentuk unity; Jumlah teks yang relatif banyak, sehingga pesan tidak dapat dipahami dalam waktu yang singkat; kurang efektif karena selain desain yang kurang tepat, dalam penempatannya tidak memperhitungkan faktor penghalang dan pesaing sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan kekacauan informasi dan visual kot

    Determinants of Nutritional Status in Children Under Two Years of Age in Sragen, Central Java

    Background: Malnutrition is one of the most important health and welfare problems among infants and young children in developing countries. This study aimed to examine the determinants of weight for age in children under 2 years of age in Sragen, Central Java. Subjects and Method: This was across-sectional study conducted in Jetis karangpung, Kalijambe, Sragen. A total of 107 children under 2 years of age were selected for this study by random sampling. The dependent variable was child growth as measured by weight for age score. The independent variables were exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, immunization status, and child health care. The body weight was measured by a scale. The other data were collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by a multiple linear regression. Results: Weight for age score increased with exclusive breastfeeding (b= 0.49; p= 0.025), complementary feeding (b= 0.26; p<0.001), immunization status (b= 0.65; p= 0.003), child health care (b= 0.59; p<0.001). Conclusion: Weight for age score increases with exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, immunization status, child health care.     Pengenalan Citra Wajah Manusia Dengan Menggunakan Metode Eigenface

    Face applicable to identify the somebody identity for security. Intention of this research is study the face recognition by using eigenface method and make the application program which can be used to recognize the face in so many expression, position as well as face experienced of the trouble effect existence of noise. In Eigenface method, decoding is done by calculating eigenvector then represented in a large matrix. Eigenvector is also declared as facial characteristics, therefore why this method is called with Eigenface. Face input which at this application is in the form of face image of the size and same resolution. Output Application is in the form of class closest from face which wish recognized. This application made with the program delphi 7 which enough rely on and easy to in calculation mathematic. Result of examination of face recognition by using approach eigenface to used sampel, program can recognize the face truly with the efficacy 88,2%

    The article aims to find the probability effects of bank's health level using CAMEL ratio analysis. The statistic method used to test on the research hypothesis was logit regression. The dependent variable used in this research was bank's health level and independent variables were CAMEL financial ratios consisting of CAR, NPL, ROA, ROE, LDR, and NIM. The report data were extracted from bank's financial from financial report, which had been published and accumulated by Infobank research bureau with valuation, based on bank Indonesia policy. The sample consisted of 60 healthy banks and 14 unhealthy banks in 2005 and 2006. The empirical result of this research indicates that the Non Performing Loan is the significant variable affecting bank health level

    Keganasan sering kali terjadi di daerah rongga mulut dan biasanya dirawat melalui tindakan hemimaksilektomi. Tindakan hemimaksilektomi menimbulkan adanya defek yang membuat adanya celah antara rongga mulut dan rongga nasal, sehingga menyebabkan penderita kesulitan saat melakukan fungsi normal seperti menelan dan berbicara. Peran prostodontis dalam menangani adanya defek pada maksila adalah merehabilitasi struktur intra dan ekstra oral untuk memulihkan fungsi normal pengunyahan, fonetik, proses penelanan, dan estetika. Masalah utama rehabilitasi defek yang besar pada maksila adalah berat protesa, sehingga protesa tidak retentif. Tujuan dari laporan kasus ini adalah pembuatan obturator definitif dengan hollow bulb untuk merehabilitasi fungsi pengunyahan, fonetik, proses penelanan, dan estetika. Kasus pasien wanita 24 tahun, tersisa gigi 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, dan 18 disertai dengan defek pada maksila sebelah kiri pasca hemimaksilektomi dengan klasifikasi Aramany klass I. Perawatan yang dipilih adalah pembuatan obturator definitif dengan two-piece hollow bulb dari bahan resin akrilik. Kesimpulan dari laporan kasus iniadalah obturator definitif dengan two-piece hollow bulb dari bahan resin akrilik dapat merehabilitasi defek pada maksila pasca hemimaksilektomi sehingga mengembalikan fungsi pengunyahan, fonetik, proses penelanan, dan estetika

    The effect of Zirconium Dioxide nanoparticles concentrations as filler on heat cured acrylic resin denture base toward viability of fibroblast cells (in vitro study)

    Heat cured acrylic resin is the most commonly used denture base materials.  Zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles can be applied as additional filler to increase mechanical strength and to reduce the amount of residual monomer. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of ZrO2 nanoparticles concentrations as filler on heat cured acrylic resin denture base toward viability of fibroblast cells. Twenty four disc-shaped heat cured acrylic resin plate (diameter 5 mm; width 2 mm), were divided into 4 groups (n=6), they were consisted of group I control (acrylic resin), group II acrylic resin with 2.5% ZrO2, group III acrylic resin with 5% ZrO2, and group IV acrylic resin with 7.5% ZrO2. Cell viability was obtained using MTT assay and ELISA plate reader. The result is examined with one way ANOVA followed by LSD post hoc assessment. The result showed highest cell viability percentage on experimental group of 2.5% ZrO2 with value as high as 97.49%. One way ANOVA test and LSD post hoc test showed a significant difference between groups (p<0.05). The conclusion of this research is ZrO2 nanoparticles concentration utilized as filler on heat cured acrylic resin denture base is effect to viability of fibroblast cells, and ZrO2 nanoparticles 2.5% shows the highest viability of fibroblast cell compared to 5% and 7.5% ZrO2 nanoparticles concentrations

    Jamur Entomopatogen Dan Aktivitas Enzim Ekstraselulernya [Entomopathogenic Fungi and Their Extracellular Enzyme Activity]

    Isolation of entomopathogenic fungi and their extracellular enzyme activity from rhizosphere soil were carried out. Soil samples were col-lected from rhizosphere under Arecaceae plant collection and a shrub in Bogor Botanic Garden, West Java; and another samples were gath-ered from forest floor on peat land in Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan. Insect bait method was used to catch fungi from soil samples by using Coptotermes sp. termites and Xystrocera festiva larva in the laboratory. A total of 38 fungal isolates belonging to 18 spe-cies and 12 genera were successfully isolated and identified. Isolated fungi were dominated by Deuteromycotina; and Fusarium is the most common (5 species). Peat and Pinanga coronata rhizospheres; and termites bait gave the highest fungal diversity of 9 species respectively. All fungal isolates did not indicate chitinase activity, but 60.53 %, 10.53 % and 13.16 % had both of lipase and protease; lipase and protease activities, respectively. Only 15.79 % fungal isolates were negatively in lipase or protease activities

    Pengaruh Perendaman Pupuk Organik Cair Dengan Dosis Yang Berbeda Terhadap Pertumbuhan Rumput Laut (Caulerpa Lentillifera)

    Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) menargetkan produksi rumput laut pada tahun 2015 sebesar 10,3 juta ton. Salah satu jenis rumput yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan yaitu Caulerpa lentillifera. Rumput laut ini banyak digemari masyarakat dalam negeri maupun luar negeri karena memiliki nilai ekonomis yang sangat penting yaitu sebagai bahan makanan segar dan bahan untuk obat-obatan. Namun produksi C. lentillifera sendiri belum dapat tercukupi karena bersifat musiman dan masih banyak mengandalkan hasil dari alam. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi C. lentillifera dengan cara budidaya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan C. lentillifera dalam budidaya adalah ketersediaan nutrien yang biasanya dapat diperoleh dari pemberian pupuk. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dilakukan penelitian pengaruh perendaman pupuk organik cair dengan dosis yang berbeda dan dosis yang terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan C. lentillifera. Peneltian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Adapun perlakuan tersebut yaitu perlakuan A (0 mL), B (1,5 mL), C (2,5 mL) dan D (3,5 mL) dengan lama perendaman 6 jam. Data yang didapatkan selama penelitian yaitu laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR) dan kualitas air. Data dianalis dengan Anova dan dilakukan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perendaman pupuk organik cair dengan dosis yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik C. lentillifera. Perlakuan D (perendaman dosis 3,5 mL) memberikan hasil terbaik dari semua perlakuan dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik sebesar 3.29±0.06%/hari. Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) targets 10,3 million tons seaweed production in 2015. One of potential seaweed to be developed is Caulerpa lentillifera. This type of seaweed is preferred by many people in Indonesia and the world because it has high economic value as fresh produce and for medicine. However, production is still insufficient because it is seasonal variety and its production still depends on natural harvest. Therefore, it is needed to increase C. lentillifera production by cultivation. One factor that affects C. lentillifera growth in the cultivation is the availability of nutrient. Therefore, a study on difficult dosage of liquid fertilizer throught immertion method is needed. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of different dosage of liquid fertilizer on the growth of C. lentillifera and to find out the proper dosage which can produce the best growth of C. lentillifera. This study was done experimentally with Completely Randomised Design. There were 4 treatments: A (0 mL), B (1,5 mL), C (2,5 mL) and D (3,5 mL) with time of immersion of 6 hours. Each treatment was replicated 5 times. The data collected were specific growth rate (SGR) and water quality parameter. Data was analyzed using collected were Anova and followed by Duncan's test. The result shows that different dosage of liquid organic fertilizer showed highly significantly effected the specific growth rate (SGR). Treatment D (dose of 3,5 mL) gives the best result compared with another treatments, with specific growth rate of 3.29±0.06%/day
