    Joseph Bueys : Coyote

    No full text
"Joseph Bueys: Coyote - An Action. Since the early sisties Joseph Beuys has presented "actions", performances incorporating elements of theatre and ritual to express the unity of art and live. These were often performed in out-of-the-way places, seen by small audiences, and shrouded in frangmentary and inaccurate reports. In this volume Caroline Tisdall makes the first attempt to describe a Beuys-Action in its totality and document every stage photographically. Her text traces the ideas that form the basis of "Coyote", deciphering the sympolic elements through which they were presented." -- p. [3] of cover

"Four exhibtions of contemporary art organised by Lucy Lippard have become known as her 'numbers shows'. Each took the population of the city in which it was shown as its title: '557,087' in Seattle, '955,000' in Vancouver, '2,972,453' in Buenos Aires and 'c.7,500' in Valencia, California and touring. This book examines the numbers shows and follows Lippard's trajectory as critic and curator, tracing her growing political engagement and involvement with feminism" -- p. [4] of cover

Investigating Cross-talk in Cytochrome C Oxidase Concentration Quantification using Near Infrared Spectroscopy in a Two-layered Model

    No full text
The cross-talk issue in the quantification of concentration changes in oxidized cytochrome c oxidase in the human head has been investigated using a two layered model representing the scalp/skull and brain layers. The results showed that the degree of cross-talk can be reduced by using increased number of wavelengths and with wavelength dependent path length correction. ©2007 Optical Society of America
