    Experimental Design in Plasma Welding of SUS 304 Stainless Steel Thin Plates

    Background: This research focuses on the evaluation of the independent influence and the bidirectional interaction of some welding parameters in butt welding for the SUS 304 stainless steel thin plates using the automatic plasma welding system (450 +/- Plasma, SP7Turmatic from Lincoln). Contribution: The findings will serve as a reliable background to design the mathematical model for the prediction of the tensile strength for the plasma welding of   steel SUS 304 thin plates in terms of the nomination of the optimal process for adopting the requirement in industry. Method: The welding setting is nominated for 04 main changing parameters, such as the peak current of welding (Ih, A); the background current of welding (Ib, A); the welding speed (vh, cm/min); the feeding rate of the welding wire (vc.d, cm/min); the diameter of the wire (d = 1.0 mm); and the flow rate of the shielding gas (Gk.p, 2.0 l/min). Mathematical statistics software ANOVA using to analyze the influence of the parameters on the tensile strength of the weld as the target function. Results:  The tensile strength of the plasma welding samples is about 650 MPa at the equivalent level of the other publications. This proved the reasonable welding setting for the preliminary investigation. Conclusion: Authors proved the nomination of the main plasma welding technological parameters, such as the peak current, the background current, the welding speed, and the feeding rate of the wire, is reasonable towards the maximum tensile strength, one of the important criteria in the weld performanc

    A Bibliometric Review on Realistic Mathematics Education in Scopus Database Between 1972-2019

    Despite receiving increasing attention from mathematics education scholars, there has not yet been any overall understanding of the current state of realistic mathematics education (RME). To address this gap, this study aims to provide a review of 288 studies on realistic mathematics education from the Scopus database between 1972 and 2019. Using descriptive and bibliometric analyses, this study addresses four research issues as follows: (i) the total volume, growth trajectory, and geographic distribution; (ii) the most influencing authors and research groups; (iii) the most influencing sources (i.e., journals, books, conferences); and (iv) the most important topics. Several implications for not only mathematics education scholars but also other stakeholders, including policymakers, school managers, mathematics teachers, may not be considered in this study

    Host Transcription Profile in Nasal Epithelium and Whole Blood of Hospitalized Children Under 2 Years of Age With Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection.

    BACKGROUND: Most insights into the cascade of immune events after acute respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection have been obtained from animal experiments or in vitro models. METHODS: In this study, we investigated host gene expression profiles in nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs and whole blood samples during natural RSV and rhinovirus (hRV) infection (acute versus early recovery phase) in 83 hospitalized patients <2 years old with lower respiratory tract infections. RESULTS: Respiratory syncytial virus infection induced strong and persistent innate immune responses including interferon signaling and pathways related to chemokine/cytokine signaling in both compartments. Interferon-α/β, NOTCH1 signaling pathways and potential biomarkers HIST1H4E, IL7R, ISG15 in NP samples, or BCL6, HIST2H2AC, CCNA1 in blood are leading pathways and hub genes that were associated with both RSV load and severity. The observed RSV-induced gene expression patterns did not differ significantly in NP swab and blood specimens. In contrast, hRV infection did not as strongly induce expression of innate immunity pathways, and significant differences were observed between NP swab and blood specimens. CONCLUSIONS: We conclude that RSV induced strong and persistent innate immune responses and that RSV severity may be related to development of T follicular helper cells and antiviral inflammatory sequelae derived from high activation of BCL6

    Polymorphisms of ABCG2 and SLC22A12 Genes Associated with Gout Risk in Vietnamese Population

    Background and objective: Gout is a common form of inflammatory arthritis caused by the crystallization of uric acid. Previous studies have demonstrated that the genetic predisposition of gout varies in different ethnic populations. However the association study of genetic variants with gout remains unknown in the Vietnamese population. Our study aimed to assess the relationship between polymorphisms in ABCG2 and SLC22A12 and gout susceptibility in Vietnamese. Materials and methods: Genomic DNA was extracted from blood of a total of 170 patients with gout and 351 healthy controls. We genotyped single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs): rs72552713, rs12505410 of the ABCG2 gene and rs11231825, rs7932775 of the SLC22A12 gene using polymerase chain reaction&ndash;restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR&ndash;RFLP) and then confirmed 10% of randomly selected subjects by Sanger sequencing. Results: Three SNPs (rs72552713 and rs12505410 and rs11231825) were in accordance with Hardy&ndash;Weinberg Equilibrium (HWE) (p &gt; 0.05) while rs7932775 was not (p &lt; 0.05). For rs72552713, CT genotype was significantly different between gout patient and control groups (p &lt; 0.001) and the T allele was associated with an increased risk of gout (OR = 21.19; 95% CI: 3.00&ndash;918.96; p &lt; 0.001). Serum uric acid and hyperuricemia differed significantly between CC and CT genotype groups (p = 0.004 and 0.008, respectively). For rs11231825, a protective effect against gout risk was identified in the presence of the C allele when compared with the T allele (OR = 0.712; 95% CI: 0.526&ndash;0.964 p = 0.0302). In contrast, no significant difference of allele frequencies between gout patients and controls was detected for rs12505410 (p &gt; 0.05). However, significant differences in serum uric acid and systolic blood pressure were obtained among gout patients. Conclusion: Our results suggest that ABCG2 rs72552713 and SLC22A12 rs11231825 are likely associated with gout in the Vietnamese population in which T allele may be a risk factor for gout susceptibility

    Mangrove health assessment using spatial metrics and multi-temporal remote sensing data

    Mangrove forest plays a very important role for both ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation. In Vietnam, mangrove is mainly distributed in the Mekong delta. Recently, mangrove areas in this region decreased rapidly in both quality and quantity. The forest became bare, divided and scattered into many small patches, which was a major driver of ecosystem degradation. Without a quantitative method for effectively assessing mangrove health in the regional scale, the sustainably conserving mangrove is the challenge for the local governments. Remote sensing data has been widely used for monitoring mangrove distributions, while the characterization of spatial metrics is important to understand the underlying processes of mangrove change. The objectives of this study were to develop an approach to monitor mangrove health in Mui Ca Mau, Ca Mau province of Vietnam by utilizing satellite image textures to assess the mangrove patterns. The research result showed that mangrove areas increased double by 2015, but the forest had become more fragmented. We can be seen those changes in land use mainly come from land conversion from forest to shrimp farms, settlements areas and public constructions. The conserving existing mangrove forest in Mui Ca Mau should consider the relations between mangrove health and influencing factors indicated in the manuscript
