DOMAIN ABSTRACTION OF HIGHLY CORRELATED PAIRS TO RECOMMEND IN THE LONG TAIL

    Get PDF
ABSTRACTAmong difficulties encountered by modern shopping recommenders is the long tail shape of sold items also related to cold-start issues. Various approaches including content-based recommendations attempt to overcome this problem that has serious impact on the accuracy of recommendations especially when new products are continuously added to the catalogue. This paper investigates the use of an algorithm to search for highly correlated pairs between abstractions of items. The advantage of this approach is evaluated on the basis of real data showing better results compared to an approach onlybased on the concrete pairs of items. Using rigorous protocols such as Given-n, experimental results show significant improvement in both the recommendation accuracy and the recommendation of products in the long tail.Keywords. Two Higgs doublet model fitting and ttˉbbˉt\bar{t}b\bar{b} signal at the ILC

One of the most straightforward extensions of the standard model (SM) is having an additional Higgs doublet to the SM, namely the two Higgs doublet models(THDM). In the type-I model, an additional Higgs doublet is introduced that does not couple to any fermion via the Yukawa interaction. Considering various theoretical and phenomenological constraints, we have found the best-fitted parameter set in the type-I model using the minimum χ2\chi^2 method by scanning the model's parameter space. We show that this optimal parameter set can be probed by precisely analyzing the decay processes D+μ+νμD^+ \rightarrow \mu^+ \nu_\mu, B0Kμ+μB^0 \rightarrow K^* \mu^+ \mu^-. Moreover, the decay channels hssˉh \rightarrow s\bar{s}, W+WW^+W^- and gggg can be used to distinguish the model from the SM. For a direct search of the model at future colliders, we have proposed an investigation of the e+ettˉbbˉe^+e^- \rightarrow t\bar{t} b\bar{b} process at the ILC to detect the new physics of the model. Considering the initial state radiation correction and applying appropriate background cuts, the calculation result of the scattering cross section shows that it is feasible to observe a clear and unique signal in the tbˉt\bar{b} invariant mass distribution corresponding to the charged Higgs pair creations.Comment: 20 pages, 8 figure

This research paper analyzes the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI), international trade, and national economy on the standard of living of people in ASEAN member countries, using data from 2012-2021. The study uses data from this period to examine the effects of these variables on the standard of living in ASEAN member countries. The results indicate that international trade and national economy have a significant influence on people's standard of living in the region. However, the effect of FDI varies depending on the level of development of the country. While FDI doesn't have much effect on developing countries, it has a negative impact on developed countries. The study also provides insights for policymakers on how to promote economic growth and improve the quality of life for people in the ASEAN. Purpose: To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of Symplocos sumuntia Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don and identify the main secondary metabolites responsible for this effect. Methods: The in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of the plant extract and isolated compounds was determined in terms of the ability to inhibit the production of nitric oxide (NO), and expressions of iNOS and COX-2 proteins in RAW264.7 cells stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Compounds were isolated and identified by spectroscopic methods. Results: The methanol extract of S. sumuntia leaves showed strong inhibitory effects on nitric oxide (NO) production and expression of iNOS and COX-2 in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells. A phytochemical assay-guided fractionation of the methanol extract of S. sumuntia leaves led to the isolation of four lignans which are arctigenin (1), matairesinol (2), monomethylpinoresinol (3) and pinoresinol (4). These compounds were identified for the first time from S. sumuntia. All four compounds inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO), with arctigenin showing the most potent activity with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of 4.08 μM.Conclusion: S. sumuntia is a promising source of anti-inflammatory agents, which may clarify to the therapeutic use of this plant in Vietamese traditional medicine. Keywords: Symplocos sumuntia, Symplocos caudata, Lignan, Arctigenin, Anti-inflammator

Higgs Mass Constraint on a Low Scale SUSY Model

    Get PDF
Randal-Sundrum models have an interesting feature that an effective physical scale can be generated from a much larger one of the underlying theory. In this paper, we investigate a model of supersymmetry in the Randall-Sundrum spacetime with a low cutoff scale. Due to the warp factor, the Kaluza-Klein scale is warped down to O\mathcal{O}(100) TeV. With the MSSM superfields living in the bulk, the soft SUSY breaking terms of the 4D effective theory are derived from the original 5D Lagrangian by integrating out the extra-dimension. We examine the constraint of the Higgs boson mass measurement on the model. As a result, the viable parameter space with the ability to reproduce a 125 GeV Higgs mass is identified. The constraint rules out parameter regions with the stop masses larger than 20 TeV. Therefore, the parameter space of the model can be explored in a future 100 TeV collider

Gravity terrain correction of seafloor topography is very necessary and decisive for effective in interpretation of marine gravity data. In this study, gravity terrain correction is calculated in combination with the methods that given by Nagy (1966) and Kane (1962). A digital terrain model of the seafloor topography (DEM) 2.5 × 2.5km is used in the process of calculating terrain correction. The calculation of the terrain effect is extended to the optimal distance 100km with average density of crustal rocks ρr=2.67g/cm3, and sea water density ρw=1.03 g/cm3. The obtained result of the terrain correction changes from -17.95 to +25.71 mGal in the whole region. By combining the above-mentioned terrain correction result with other data sources, the authors also have built a 2.5 × 2.5 km grid of complete Bouguer gravity anomaly data for East Vietnam Sea and adjacent areas.Áp dụng hiệu chỉnh trọng lực của địa hình đáy biển là vấn đề rất cần thiết và quyết định hiệu quả trong xử lý, minh giải tài liệu trọng lực biển. Multiple-Symbol Differential Detection for Spatial Modulation

    Get PDF
Approximately 3 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) loss is always paid with conventional Differential Spatial Modulation (DSM) as compared to coherent Spatial Modulation (SM). In this paper, a Multiple-Symbol Differential Detection (MSDD) technique is proposed for DSM systems to mitigate the loss due to differential detection. The new scheme can greatly narrow the 3 dB performance gap by extending the observation interval for differential decoding. The technique uses maximum-likelihood sequence detection instead of traditional symbol-by-symbol detection, and is carried out on the slow, flat Rayleigh fading channel. A generalized decision metric is derived for an observation interval of arbitrary length. It is shown that for a moderate number of symbols, MSDD provides approximately 1.5 dB performance improvement over the conventional differential detection. In addition, a closed-form pairwise error probability and approximate bit error probability (BEP) are derived for multiple-symbol differential spatial modulation. Results show that the theoretical BEP matches well the simulated one. The BEP is shown to converge asymptotically with the number of symbols in the observation interval to that of the differential scheme with coherent detection

Fish is a healthy, high protein and low fat food that encourages the health and growth of people, especially children. However, in fact fish is very sensitive to many diseases which affects the productivity and quality of fish. Therefore, identifying the cause of the diseases and finding preventive measures become an urgent task today. In the previous study, we isolated Streptomyces antibioticus strain 1083 that has the ability to antagonize Aeromonas hydrophila - a pathogenic bacterium in fish. Based on the obtained results, we continue to perform this study to determine optimal conditions for the culture of S. antibioticus strain 1083 in order to produce antimicrobial compounds against A. hydrophila. The production of antagonists by the strain 1083 was optimized by controlling the condition of different inoculations such as media, pH, temperature and incubation period. The results indicated that International Streptomyces Project 2 (ISP2) was the best medium for S. antibioticus strain 1083 to produce the highest antimicrobial activity against A. hydrophila with 32 mm in diameter of inhibited zone. The actinomycete strain 1083 could express the maximum antimicrobial activity when they were incubated in shaker incubator (200rpm) at 40oC with pH8 in 8 days. The ability of the actinomycete strain in antagonism against A. hydrophila was evaluated by adding different culture medium volume of S. antibioticus strain 1083. With adding 10% cultured solution volume of S. antibioticus strain 1083 into the culture medium of A. hydrophila, after 1 day of inoculation the number of pathogenic bacteria cells were completely eliminated
