Simple acoustical technique for automated measurement of drift tube anode wire tension
We describe a simple and inexpensive acoustical technique that permits rapid,
accurate and in-situ measurement of drift tube anode wire tensions even if the
anode wire is electrically discontinuous.Comment: 5 text pages, 6 figures. fixed typo, minor content change in sec
CP Violation Search in Decays
Using a sample of 12.2 million -lepton pairs produced by
annihilation at GeV and collected by the CLEO detector, we
search for and set limits on CP violation in -lepton decays. For each
event, we require that both -leptons decay via the mode \tau\ra
\pi\pi^0\nu. The search is performed within the context of a multi-Higgs
Doublet Model and the imaginary part of the coupling constant parameterizing
the non-Standard Model diagram leading to CP violation is constrained to be
at 90% CL. The novel search technique is of
general utility.Comment: 4 pages, 7 figures, 1 table. Conference proceeding for BCP4, 19-23

A Compact Apparatus for Muon Lifetime Measurement and Time Dilation Demonstration in the Undergraduate Laboratory
We describe a compact apparatus that automatically measures the charge
averaged lifetime of atmospheric muons in plastic scintillator using low-cost,
low-power electronics and that measures the stopping rate of atmospheric muons
as a function of altitude to demonstrate relativistic time dilation. The
apparatus is designed for the advanced undergraduate physics laboratory and is
suitable for field measurements.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure
Constraints on Light Bottom Squarks from Radiative B-Meson Decays
The presence of a light b-squark (with mass about 4 GeV) and gluino (with
mass about 15 GeV) might explain the observed excess in b-quark production at
the Tevatron. Though provocative, this model is not excluded by present data.
The light supersymmetric particles can induce large flavor-changing effects in
radiative decays of B mesons. We analyse the decays B->X_s gamma and B->X_{sg}
in this scenario and derive restrictive bounds on the flavor-changing
quark-squark-gluino couplings.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures. One reference added. Final version published in

One-particle inclusive CP asymmetries
One-particle inclusive CP asymmetries in the decays of the type B -> D(*) X
are considered in the framework of a QCD based method to calculate the rates
for one-particle inclusive decays.Comment: Latex, 13 pages, 6 figures (eps). Analytical and numerical results
unchanged, extended discussion of model assumptions and systematic
uncertainties. Version to be published in Phys. Rev. D 62, 0960xx. Additional
