    Conformal Transformation and it's Applications

    No full text
This paper investigates flow past a flat plate and two-dimensional irrotational motion of fluid due to singularities between two fixed boundaries. The flow past a flat plate is obtained by using Joukowski transformation. It is also shown by examples that the conformal transformation can make a problem of irrotational flow treatable by converting an awkwardly shaped boundary into one of the simple forms

Detection of Environmental Changes through Supervised Classification

    No full text
Nowadays, satellite based remote sensing technology has been successfully utilized for mapping, monitoring and detection of environmental changes. The interested information will be extracted from satellite images by using Digital Image Processing. In this paper, the environmental changes due to natural hazards can be detected and monitored using supervised classification. To extract the information from the multi-date images, the Minimum Distance classifier (MD) is used to identify the classes of images based on RGB color values. It is used in training and also in recognition. The Minimum distance classifier which is based on training data characterizes each class by its mean position on each band. The classification is performed by placing a pixel in the class of the nearest mean. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate and compare the satellite images of before and after natural disasters in the world with results from the supervised training based methods

Ranking Education Level in Myanmar using Weighted Sum Model

    No full text
The educational sector in Myanmar is facing with numerous challenges such as lack of infrastructural and human resources, poor accessibility, imbalance between demand and supply, among others. Defining the education level is a key success factor for a country. This paper presents a real application of ranking education levels of States in Myanmar using the one of multi-criteria decision making models called Weighted Sum Model. The proposed paper has applied four criteria for ranking the educational conditions of Seven States in Myanmar. Finally, the system displays the list of rank of education levels of States

Morphological and anatomical characters of leaves, stems and roots of Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek. belonging to family Fabaceae (Subfamily-Papilionoideae) were studied. The specimens were collected from Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. In morphological characters, the plants were observed annual erect herb with brown hirsute. Leaves were pinnately trifoliolate compound and sparsely pilose. The flowers were bisexual, zygomorphic, pentamerous, hypogynous and papilionaceous. Pods were dehiscent, sparely pale brown hirsute and seeds greenish or yellowish green, glabrous. In anatomical characters, paracyctic type of stomata was observed on both surfaces of laminae. The opposite system of two vascular bundles was observed in the midrib. The vascular bundles of stem were showed continuous circular ring. The vascular bundles of petioles, lamina, midribs and stems were collateral type. The vascular bundles of roots were found tetrarch to polyarch

Enhancing Security with the Combination of DCT & 3DES

Information security is becoming more importantin data storage and transmission. Because of widelyused images in security process, it is the importantconfidential image data from unauthorized access. The original image was converted by using twodimensional transform and encryption 3DES withtwo keys. This system presented a transformationalgorithm based on the image cosine transformationand a well known encryption and decryptionalgorithm called 3DES. This paper also analyzed theimage encryption algorithms DCT and 3DES. Theoriginal image is encrypted after the transformationprocess. In this approach to reduce the computationalrequirements for huge volume of images andresulting high speed transformation and encryptionsystem

An approach to health system strengthening in the Union of Myanmar

    No full text
Objectives In 2007 and 2008, Myanmar developed a health system strengthening (HSS) strategy and proposal through funding support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI). The aim of this paper is to identify critical success factors in the development of the HSS strategy in Myanmar. Methods The main source of information for this review includes international and national literature, and participant observation by the authors in the health systems analysis and HSS strategy development in Myanmar between 2007 and 2009.Results Critical success factors in the development of the HSS strategy included evidence-based development of the strategy through a sector analysis, and a long-term approach to strategy development with wide stakeholder participation. This contributed to important strategy breakthroughs in the areas of health planning, health financing, human resource management and civil society partnerships. Conclusion Implementation of the HSS strategy in Myanmar should position the MOH and partners well to implement challenging system reforms in the areas of health planning, financing and human resource management in the coming years, as well as support more coordinated efforts for relief and recovery effort following the Nargis natural disaster in 2008. These innovations in Myanmar, with evidence of similar breakthroughs in other countries of the Asian region including North Korea, Cambodia, Nepal and Sri Lanka, provides promising evidence of the potential of the HSS approach as an emerging health development paradigm, particularly in relation to responding to the issue of "within country" inequities in access to health care.Health system strengthening Myanmar Health sector planning Maternal and child health GAVI

A Study on Some Myanmar Ornamental Fish Species in Inlay Lake

    No full text
The taxonomical studies of ornamental fishes of Inlay Lake were carried out. This study has recorded the occurrence of 12 species of ornamental fishes belonging to three orders and six families representing ten genera. Five species were recorded as endemic to Inlay Lake and its environments. About four of exported species were described in detail. The status of the studied species in the lake were discussed
