W artykule omówiono rozwój problematyki wrażliwości religijnej dzieci wieku dziecięcego, od 4-6 roku życia. Tutaj analizujemy religijną wrażliwość radości, miłości, ciekawości smutek i strach. P. Tatala uważa, że ​​dynamika rozwoju wrażliwości religijnej, Jest to ściśle związane z ogólnym rozwojem wiedzy i emocji dziecka

Image of God in young catholicsThe aim of the cognitive-developmental study has been to determine features of the image of God and indications of the relationship with God formed by adolescents. The definition of the image of God adopted in this paper has three aspects: (1) knowledge about God, (2) emotional experiences of God, and (3) behavioral tendencies towards God. It should be noted that the image of God is formed by imagination to a considerable degree, as we shape our mental representation of God on the basis of imagination. In the study, 114 adolescent Catholics were tested with the projection drawing “My God and I”. The position, shape, size, colors and the way of drawing the figure or symbol of God belong to the formal part of the analysis, while the meanings ascribed to the figure or symbol of God, i.e. the semantics of the representation, constitute the aspect of content. The results of the study have helped to isolate the dimensions of form and content in the image of God and to present their different categorizations

Assessment of Stress Caused by Traumatic Event in Paramedics and Firefighters: a Contribution to Understanding Work Culture

Celem niniejszej pracy było zgłębienie problematyki oceny subiektywnego stresu wywołanego traumatycznym zdarzeniem (ang. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD) przez ratowników medycznych i strażaków. Badaniem objęto 195 mężczyzn (n = 99 ratowników medycznych). Do badań użyto Zrewidowanej Skali Wpływu Zdarzeń (ang. Impact Event Scale-Revised, IES–R). Głównym problemem badawczym była odpowiedź na pytania: czy ratownicy medyczni w porównaniu do strażaków cechują się wyższym poziomem oceny subiektywnego stresu wywołanego traumatycznym zdarzeniem oraz czy osoby w średniej dorosłości w porównaniu do osób z wczesnej dorosłości cechują się wyższym poziomem doświadczanego PTSD? Badania potwierdziły, że ratownicy medyczni i osoby będące w okresie średniej dorosłości osiągają wyższy poziom stresu wywołanego traumatycznym zdarzeniem oraz składowych PTSD: intruzji, pobudzenia i unikania.The purpose of the present study was to analyze ratings of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in paramedics and firefighters. The participants of the study were 195 men (99 of them were paramedics) who were examined with the Impact Event Scale-Revised (IES–R). The main research questions were: do paramedics, as compared with firefighters, display higher levels of PTSD? In addition, do individuals in middle adulthood compared to those in early adulthood have higher levels of experienced PTSD? The study confirmed that paramedics and those in middle adulthood are characterized by higher levels of the following components of PTSD: intrusion, hyperarousal and avoidance

Wychowanie do modlitwy w materiałach katechetycznych dla młodzieży (cz. II)

W artykule przedstawiono analizę materiałów do katechezy młodzieży w aspekcie zjednoczyli się w edukacji modlitewnej. Na wstępie opisuje specyfikę katechez nt modlitwa w intencji klas I-IV szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Następnie pokazuje elementy modlitwa zawarta w tych materiałach. Interesujące są tabele, które pokazują różne lipi modlitwy (tab. 1), miejsce modlitwy w trakcie lekcji (na początku, w w środku, na końcu, tab. 2) oraz liczbę modlitw w katechezie (1 raz, 2 razy, 3 razy i więcej, tab. 3)

W artykule przedstawiono propozycję modelu wychowawczego do modlitwy w materiałach katecheza młodzieżowa. Dokumenty! Kościoła proszę o wychowanie do modlitwy jako jedno z zadań katechezy. W pierwszej kolejności przypomina się definicję modlitwy, jej rodzaje i formy. Model wychowania do modlitwy obejmuje: wychowanie do osobistego spotkania z Bogiem, Wychowanie do modlitwy, które rozwija moralny aspekt osoby, wychowanie do modlitwy kościelny

Measurement Invariance of Prayer Importance Scale: Religiosity, Gender, Age

The main goal of the research was to increase knowledge on the psychometric properties of the Prayer Importance Scale (PIS). The study analyzed the structure of test items using item response theory (IRT), Mokken scale analysis (MSA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to establish factorial structure of the method. Measurement invariance (MI) was calculated in groups differentiated by three criteria: religiosity, gender, and age. MI verifies whether test items measure the construct in the same way across different groups. The Structure and Level of Religiosity Test (SLRT) was used to examine the level of religiosity in participants. In a study conducted with a sample of n = 566 adults (Mage = 49.16 years; SDage = 15.72), two religious groups were identified based on a median distribution: with low (n = 275) and high (n = 291) levels of religiosity. Two groups differentiated by gender, men (n = 284) and women (n = 282), were equivalent per age period: early (age 25–39; n = 192), middle (age 40–59; n = 187), and late adulthood (age 60+; n = 187). Results of the analyses show high homogeneity of items comprising PIS, as well as strict invariance for the three distinguished criteria. Results of the study provide extended knowledge about psychometric properties of PIS and the ability to compare results due to religiosity, gender, and age

Religious feelings in pre-school children in their own and their mothers’ perception

The aim of the study was to compare the expression of religious feelings in pre-school children and the perception of these feelings by the children’s’ mothers. Ninety Polish children from Catholic families aged 4, 5 and 6 participated in the study. A picture method along with interviews with children’s mothers were employed to gather the data. Data from the two sources was compared, taking into consideration the content and ways of expression of the described feelings. Relations between positive and negative feelings were investigated and further statistical analyses were focused mainly on negative feelings. It was found that structure of negative religious feelings obtained directly from the children bears significant similarity to the mothers’ perception

Prayer in the Life and Pastoral Work of the Blessed Primate of the Millennium – Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński (1901-1981)

The purpose of this publication is to present the role of prayer in the life and pastoral work of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. We used elements of the biographical method to discuss the main features of his personality and show that he constantly strove for holiness as he believed that the future of the world depends on saints. He respected the past and attributed great value to culture, tradition and liturgy. Being an unyielding defender of Poland and the Church in the times of the communist regime, he was a man of heroic prayer. In his view, the ideals of life are based on harmony between God and the people. Therefore, this paper recalls the figure of the Primate who, through his life witness, believed, dreamed, longed and worked to restore balance in Polish society shattered by opposing political or ideological trends. In discussing prayer, we recall the Cardinal’s attitude toward acts of personal devotion, the rosary, breviary prayer and the daily Eucharist. We also point out his devotion to the liturgical year, the Sunday Eucharistic celebration and his service to Mary, mother of God. Characterising the main fields of the Primate’s pastoral activities, we distinguish individual periods associated with his ministry.
