Resonant states in double and triple quantum wells
The full set of resonant states in double and triple quantum well/barrier
structures is investigated. This includes bound, anti-bound and normal resonant
states which are all eigensolutions of Schrodinger's equation with generalized
outgoing wave boundary conditions. The transformation of resonant states and
their transitions between different subgroups as well as the role of each
subgroup in observables, such as the quantum transmission, is analyzed. The
quantum well potentials are modeled by Dirac delta functions; therefore, as
part of this study, the well-known problem of bound states in delta-like
potentials is also revisited.Comment: 10 pages, 11 figure
Effect of oral administration of aqueous leaves extract of Cassia occidentalis on liver and kidney functions in rats
The toxicological effect of aqueous leaf extract of Cassia occidentalis Linn plant in rats was studied. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), urea and creatinine were measured 14 days after oral administration. No significant rise (P>0.05) in activity of ALT, AST, ALP and the concentrations of urea and creatinine were recorded at the 300, 600, and 900mg/kg body weight doses administered. Histopathological analysis revealed no cellular death, necrosis or inflammation of the liver and kidney. The leaves of this plant are thus found to be safe with no adverse effect on the liver and kidney functions at the doses administered. Keywords: - Cassia Occidentalis, Toxicological effect, Aminotransferase, Histopatholog
Resonant-state expansion applied to one-dimensional quantum systems
The resonant state expansion, a rigorous perturbation theory, recently
developed in electrodynamics, is applied to non-relativistic quantum mechanical
systems in one dimension. The method is used here for finding the resonant
states in various potentials approximated by combinations of Dirac delta
functions. The resonant state expansion is first verified for a triple quantum
well system, showing convergence to the available analytic solution as the
number of resonant states in the basis increases. The method is then applied to
multiple quantum well and barrier structures, including finite periodic
systems. Results are compared with the eigenstates in triple quantum wells and
infinite periodic potentials, revealing the nature of the resonant states in
the studied systems.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure

Improving Supply Chain Performance of a Start-Up Company: A Case Study of Avakino Limited
Effective supply chain management is critical for the success of a business, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery of products and services while minimizing risks and enhancing the customer experience. This paper presents a case study on Avakino Ltd's supply chain management, analyzing its nature, challenges, and proposed recommendations. The study reveals that Avakino Ltd has an agile and global supply chain, sourcing products from low-cost suppliers in Asia and Africa. However, the company faces challenges due to unreliable suppliers, low production capacity, and supply chain inefficiencies, hindering its aim of providing fast and high-quality products to customers. To address these issues, the study proposes a relationship-building strategy between Avakino Ltd and its suppliers, through long-term contracts, improved communication, and developing low production capacity suppliers through sourcing reliable Tier 2 suppliers. Implementing these recommendations can help Avakino Ltd maintain its competitive advantage and achieve its goal of delivering timely, affordable, and high-quality products to its customers
Biblical Appraisal of Clerical Corruption in Nigeria in Relation to Integrity
Integrity has become a prominent concept in research relating to governance as was as in actual policy making at all levels, but has not been linked to clerical leadership in Nigeria. The need therefore to survey integrity as it relates to clerical leadership in Nigeria becomes paramount. This paper intends to survey clerical corruption in Nigeria visa-vis the basic Christian ideals of integrity orchestrated by Biblical morality. This contribution will address the fallouts in clerical Christian leadership about integrity and concern for others. This paper used documentation method for data collection. Primary data was gotten from the Bible whereas secondary data was derived from published works concerning integrity and clerical corruption in Nigeria. Textual method was used to describe, interpret and understand the context. Significantly, biblical integrity becomes the basis for the clergy and Christians in Nigeria, and consequently the correction of the whims and caprices found in their unchristian life-styles. This will then a life of integrity becomes the norm for both Christians and public servants alike. The paper recommends the extension of ecumenical responsibility and propagation of not only the message but the curbing of excesses of Christian clerics
Association of Programmed Cell Death 1 Inhibitor with Circumorificial Plasmacytosis
Introduction: The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors is considered one of the most important advances in cancer treatment. Pembrolizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor against programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptors that has demonstrated antineoplastic activity against various malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma, and triple-negative breast cancer. Pembrolizumab is associated with numerous adverse reactions including mucosal and cutaneous reactions referred to as immune-related adverse events. These events can impact patient quality of life and lead to dose reduction or discontinuation of the medication. A comprehensive understanding of pembrolizumab’s toxicities is crucial for the initiation of treatment. Case Presentation: We present the case of a 27-year-old man with stage IVB thymic carcinoma with a bulky anterior mediastinal mass, bilateral jugular, bilateral peritracheal, and bilateral cardiophrenic lymphadenopathies, and a small pericardial effusion. He received pembrolizumab IV every 3 weeks for 53 cycles over 39 months. The patient developed bleeding oral lesions approximately 38 months after treatment with pembrolizumab. Conclusion: The patient’s pembrolizumab treatment was not interrupted and the perioral rash ultimately improved after treatment with steroids
Employee’s Conformity to Information Security Policies- The Case of a Nigerian Business Organizations
We evaluated employee’s conformity to information security policies using four research questions and three researchhypotheses. A survey research methodology was used to evaluate staff of the case study (Skannet) using both questionnairesand interview. Data gathered were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of this study revealthat majority of Skannet’s employees have adequate knowledge of Skannet’s information security policies. However, thelevel of employees’ compliance with the ICT policies is very low. Among organizational measures put in place by Skannetto ensure information security compliance include regular training / re-training for staffs on policies, regular survey sent toall staff to test level of awareness and punitive measures by Human Resource Department. The study further revealed thatSkannet’s Information Security policy positively affect the attainment of organizational goals such as improvement inquality of services, promotion of information sharing, transparency and accountability among staffs in the organization. Keywords: Policies, security, compliance, training and services
