On b- and tau-multiplicities per event in SUSY (mSUGRA) and instrumental implications

We investigate the probability to find a b or tau in SUSY production with the mSUGRA model. We find that in the entire parameter space the probability per event to find a b-jet of E_T^b > 50 GeV within CMS acceptance (eta < 2.4) is significant for all tan(beta), varying from a 10 % level to 90 % depending on the m_0, m_1/2 region. The probabilities per event to find a tau with the same kinematical cuts is also significant and it increases sharply with tan(beta). These findings point to the central role a microvertex device would play in case that SUSY (mSUGRA) is indeed realized in nature and found at the LHC. First investigations done in the context of the more general MSSM scenario confirm the findings based on mSUGRA.Comment: 19 pages, 13 figures, 3 table

A Precise Determination of tanβ\tan\beta from Heavy Charged Higgs Decay

We compute the energy spectrum of charged leptons in the decay H+bˉ+(tblνl)H^+\to \bar b+(t\to bl\nu_l). The shape of the lepton spectrum obtained, and also the mean lepton energy, are sensitive to the handedness of the intermediate top quark. This sensitivity can be used to precisely determine tanβ\tan\beta, a fundamental parameter of two Higgs doublet models.Comment: 5 pages plus 2 figures available upon request, latex, MZ-TH/94-0

On the double radiative decay of B_s-meson BγγB\to\gamma\gamma

B_s-meson double radiative decay BγγB \to \gamma\gamma is investigated in frame of supersymmetric extension of the standard model. The branching ratio is calculated. It is shown that for light Higgs particle and heigh tanβ\tan\beta supersymmetric contribution into branching ratio is significunt large than standard model estimate.Comment: 5 pages, latex, no figure

Comment on "Transverse Force on a Quantized Vortex in a Superfluid"

The result of Thouless, Ao and Niu (TAN), that the mutual friction parameter d=0d_\perp =0, contradicts to the experiments made in rotating 3He-B by Manchester group. The Manchester group observed that d<0d_\perp <0 at low temperature and approaches 1 at high temperature. The reason of the contradiction is that TAN did not take into account the Iordanskii force on the vortex and the spectral flow force, which comes from the anomaly related to the low-energy bound states of fermions in cores of quantized vortices. The Iordanskii force is responsible for the negative d<0d_\perp <0 at low temperature, while due to the spectral flow dd_\perp approaches 1 at high temperature. Relation of the spectral flow anomaly with the paradoxes of the linear and angular momenta in gapless superfluids is discussed.Comment: revtex, 2 pages, submitted to Physical Review Letters as "Comment" to the paper D.J.
