    Patterns of coronary artery vessel disease on diagnostic angiography in a south asian population

    Objective: The objective was to establish patterns of diseased vessels amongst the study population.Methodology: This retrospective descriptive study analyzed the data of 396 patients who underwent diagnostic angiographies at a large tertiary care public hospital in Islamabad, from January-2018 till October 2018. All data was coded and recorded in SPSS and was quantitatively run to find percentages and tests of significance were done.Results: We found that single vessel disease was the most common at 31.6%, and that the left anterior descending was the most commonly involved vessel with the most significant coronary artery disease, 86.6% and 71.4% respectively. Conclusion: Hypertension and diabetes has a great burden on our South Asian population and contribution to the development of coronary artery disease. Severe disease present in one vessel should alert physicians to the possibility of multi-vessel involvement and multi vessel progression in the disease progress.  Delineation of the vessel involvement pattern in South Asians forms the basis for formulating local guidelines and strategies for tackling coronary artery disease.Keywords: Angiography, CAD, patterns

    Context-Aware Data-Driven Intelligent Framework for Fog Infrastructures in Internet of Vehicles

    Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is the evolution of VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) focused on reaping the benefits of data generated by various sensors within these networks. The IoV is further empowered by a centralized cloud and distributed fog-based infrastructure. The myriad amounts of data generated by the vehicles and the environment have the potential to enable diverse services. These services can benefit from both variety and velocity of the generated data. This paper focuses on the data at the edge nodes to enable fog-based services that can be consumed by various IoV safety and non-safety applications. The paper emphasizes the challenges involved in offering the context-aware services in a IoV environment. In order to overcome these challenges, the paper proposes a data analytics framework for fog infrastructures at the fog layer of traditional IoV architecture that offers context-aware real time, near real-time and batch services at the edge of a network.     Background: Skeletal dysplasia's cause significant neurological symptoms and disrupt the development of many bones and cartilages in the body. Skeletal dysplasia, although a common presentation in paediatric population, rarely presents in older age group. Case presentation: This case presents a unique incidental finding of skeletal dysplasia in a fifty-year-old male patient who presented with osteoarthritis. Eventual workup uncloaked the presence of cleidocranial dysplasia and spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia. The patient in this case had both dysplasias at the same time. Discussion: Cleidocranial dysplasia and Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia are two uncommon autosomal dominant dysplasia's that are often diagnosed in early life and can have serious consequences, including death. It is critical to diagnose a child early in life. Radiology findings from a thorough skeletal examination aid in the early detection of numerous dysplasia's, which helps improving quality of life and allowing for effective treatment. Conclusion: The novelty of our presented case lies in the rare presentation of CCD and SED occurring concurrently at an older age with accompanying collateral abnormalities usually emerging more commonly in infants. Early diagnosis is thus essential for optimal management.</p
