The standardization of the Montenegrin language, which was started by a handful of linguists, eventually became a national project after the independence of Montenegro. This process did not lead to a drastic change of the language; however, it formed and expanded ethnic cleavages in Montenegro

    Discovery of Diffuse Radio Source in Abell 1060

    Non-thermal components in the intra-cluster medium (ICM) such as turbulence, magnetic field, and cosmic rays imprint the past and current energetic activities of jets from active galactic neuclie (AGN) of member galaxies as well as disturbance caused by galaxy cluster mergers. Meter- and centimeter-radio observations of synchrotron radiation allow us to diagnose the nonthermal component. Here we report on our discovery of an unidentified diffuse radio source, named the Flying Fox, near the center of the Abell 1060 field. The Flying Fox has an elongated ring-like structure and a central bar shape, but there is no obvious host galaxy. The average spectral index of the Flying Fox is -1.4, which is steeper than those for radio sources seen at meter wavelength. We discussed the possibilities of radio lobes, phoenixes, radio halos and relics, and Odd Radio Circle (ORC).     Suzaku and XMM-Newton Observations of the Fornax cluster: Temperature and Metallicity Distribution

    Suzaku observed a central region and five offset regions within 0.2 r180 in the Fornax cluster, a nearby poor cluster, and XMM-Newton mapped the cluster with 15 pointings out to 0.3 r180. The distributions of O, Mg, Si, S, and Fe in the intracluster medium (ICM) were studied with Suzaku, and those of Fe and temperature were studied with XMM. The temperature of the ICM gradually decreases with radius from 1.3 keV at 0.04 r180 to 1 keV at 0.2-0.3 r180. If the new solar abundances of Lodders et al. (2003) and a single-temperature plasma model are adopted, O, Mg, Si, S, and Fe show similar abundances: 0.4-0.6 solar within 0.02-0.2 r180. This Fe abundance is similar to those at 0.1-0.2 r180 in rich clusters and other groups of galaxies. At 0.2-0.3 r180, the Fe abundance becomes 0.2-0.3 solar. A two-temperature plasma model yields ICM abundances that are higher by a factor of 1.2-1.5, but gives similar abundance ratios among O, Mg, Si, S, and Fe. The northern region has a lower ICM temperature and higher brightness and Fe abundance, whereas the southern region has a higher ICM temperature and lower brightness and Fe abundance. These results indicate that the cD galaxy may have traveled from the north because of recent dynamical evolution. The cumulative oxygen- and iron-mass-to-light ratios within 0.3 r180 are more than an order of magnitude lower than those of rich clusters and some relaxed groups of galaxies. Past dynamical evolution might have hindered the strong concentration of hot gas in the Fornax cluster's central region. Scatter in the IMLR and similarity in the element abundances in the ICM of groups and clusters of galaxies indicate early metal synthesis.Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures, accepted for publication in PAS

    Regional contributions through athletic lessons for elementary school children

    We have provided athletic lessons for elementary school children for four years. These lessons are at the center of a project that aims to contribute to the local community. Initially, we decided on the following theme: “Have fun, learn to run fast, and stand on the Big Swan track.” To improve children’s competitive abilities, we focused on engaging them in fun activities that would lay the foundation for a life filled with sports; to motivate and engage the children, we gave them a chance to attend track meets as part of the program. This project has great potential, both as a practical approach to Track and Field instruction and as a basis for student volunteer activities in the elementary school teaching course. We believe that faculty members and students of Niigata University of Health and Welfare will be able to connect with many more children in the region through this project

    Pseudogap formation in organic superconductors

    The condensation of paired fermions into superfluid states changes progressively depending on the coupling strength. At the midpoint of the crossover between Bardeen--Cooper--Schrieffer (BCS) weak-coupling and Bose--Einstein condensate (BEC) strong-coupling limits, paired fermions condensate most robustly, thereby leading to the emergence of a pseudogap due to enhanced pairing fluctuations. In the case of electrons in solids, excessively strong interactions often induce competing electronic orders instead of strong-coupling superconductivity, and experimental comprehension of the pseudogap remains incomplete. In this study, we provide experimental evidence demonstrating the opening of a pseudogap, marking the incipient stage of the BCS-BEC crossover in the organic system κ\kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2_2XX. By controlling electron correlations, we investigate the thermodynamic properties of the BCS-BEC crossover and pseudogap phase. Since the superconductivity of κ\kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2_2XX arises from a simple Fermi liquid that does not exhibit any other electronic orders, our study shed light on the inherent nature of the BCS-BEC crossover

    Suzaku observations of the Hydra A cluster out to the virial radius

    We report Suzaku observations of the northern half of the Hydra A cluster out to ~1.4 Mpc, reaching the virial radius. This is the first Suzaku observations of a medium-size (kT ~3 keV) cluster out to the virial radius. Two observations were conducted, north-west and north-east offsets, which continue in a filament direction and a void direction of the large-scale structure of the Universe, respectively. The X-ray emission and distribution of galaxies elongate in the filament direction. The temperature profiles in the two directions are mostly consistent with each other within the error bars and drop to 1.5 keV at 1.5 r_500. As observed by Suzaku in hot clusters, the entropy profile becomes flatter beyond r_500, in disagreement with the r^1.1 relationship that is expected from accretion shock heating models. When scaled with the average intracluster medium (ICM) temperature, the entropy profiles of clusters observed with Suzaku are universal and do not depend on system mass. The hydrostatic mass values in the void and filament directions are in good agreement, and the Navarro, Frenk, and White universal mass profile represents the hydrostatic mass distribution up to ~ 2 r_500. Beyond r_500, the ratio of gas mass to hydrostatic mass exceeds the result of the Wilkinson microwave anisotropy probe, and at r_100, these ratios in the filament and void directions reach 0.4 and 0.3, respectively. We discuss possible deviations from hydrostatic equilibrium at cluster outskirts. We derived radial profiles of the gasmass- to-light ratio and iron-mass-to-light ratio out to the virial radius. Within r_500, the iron-mass-to-light ratio of the Hydra A cluster was compared with those in other clusters observed with Suzaku.Comment: 16 pages, 15 figures; Accepted for publication in PAS
