Time-dependent fields and anisotropy dominated magnetic media
We use a single dipole approximation to analyze the behavior of
anisotropy-dominated magnetic nanoparticles subjected to an external r.f.
field. We identify the steady state oscillations and analyze their stability.
We also analyze the case when the external r.f. field has a time-dependent
frequency which insures the most effective switching of the magnetization
GeoGebra Intervention: How have Students’ Performance and Confidence in Algebra Advanced?
The study’s goal was to provide an educational intervention in Algebra through GeoGebra that would boost students’ confidence, improve their learning, and correct their most minor mastered skills, allowing them to improve their Algebra performance. The research design was quasi-experimental, with 40 nonrandomly chosen participants comprising the GeoGebra and control groups. Mean and standard deviation was employed to describe the algebra performance and confidence of the respondents. At the same time, independent and dependent t-tests were used to determine the students’ significant difference in algebra performance and confidence in the pre-and post-test between the control and GeoGebra groups. GeoGebra effectively improved algebra confidence, enhanced learning, and remedied the students’ least mastered skills. GeoGebra is recommended as an instructional material in teaching and learning Algebra and can be extended to other mathematics content areas
Determination of Ignition Sensitivity of Selected Heat Powders
Ignition sensitivity is one of the factors defning the characteristics of high calorifc mixture with low emission of gaseous product. It was found that Zr-BaCrO4 mixture is sensitive to ignition by electric spark energy of 0.82 J, whereas activation of Fe-KClO4 mixture depends on the iron powder employed and the composition of its surface oxide layers. Energy required for the activation of high calorifc mixture in form of powder designated as FeK, FeR or FeE is equal to 0.08, 0.59 and 1.1 J, while in the form of pellet 6.92, 10.2 and 14.1 J. Activation of Fe-KClO4 mixture with a strip of heat paper as well as with the electric spark has revealed that the mixture containing iron powder obtained by atomization method (FeA) is not active
Characteristics of a thermally activated battery BTR-05
Przedstawiono charakterystykę parametrów technicznych dwuobwodowej baterii rezerwowej aktywowanej termicznie (akronim BTR-05) o układzie elektrochemicznym Ca\LiCl,KCl\PbSO4 opracowanej w CLAiO. Badania przeprowadzono w warunkach środowiskowych temperatur –50 i +55°C.Technical characteristics of a double-staged thermally activated stand-by battery working in the electro-chemical chain Ca/LiCl, KCl/PbSO4 developed by the Central Laboratory are presented in the paper. Tests were carried out for temperatures minus 50 to plus 55 Celsius degrees
Activation systems of the thermal battery
Baterie rezerwowe aktywowane termicznie ze względu na gabaryty wymagają innego niż amunicja artyleryjska mechanizmu uruchamiania. W pracy przedstawiono trzy sposoby zapalania mieszaniny pirotechnicznej zawartej wewnątrz baterii tj. zapłonnika udarowego, zapłonnika elektrycznego (główki zapalczej) i zapłonnika piezoelektrycznego. Przeprowadzone badania eksperymentalne wykazały dużą niezawodność działania dwóch pierwszych z wymienionych mechanizmów uruchamiających rozpatrywany typ baterii.Thermal batteries require due to their size other than artillery ammunition activation mechanism. A model of the stand-by electric battery based on the system Li/KCl-LiCl-RbCl-LiF/FeS2
Opracowano model nowej baterii rezerwowej aktywowanej termicznie opartej na układzie elektrochemicznym Li|KCl-LiCl-RbCl-LiF|FeS2 oraz mieszanine grzewczej Fe-KClO4. W badaniach stosowano dwuogniwową baterią termiczną, dla której wyznaczono wartość jej pojemności cieplnej oraz określono optymalną masę tabletki mieszaniny grzewczej. Ponadto określono wpływ niedogrzania lub przegrzania baterii na podstawowe parametry elektryczne oraz wyznaczono wartości temperatury poszczególnych jej elementów.The model of a new thermally activated stand-by battery based on the electrochemical chain Li/KCl-LiCl-RbCl-LiF/FeS2 and heating composition of Fe-KClO4 was developed. A thermal two-cell battery was used for tests and its thermal capacity and the optimal mass of the heating tablet was determined. Moreover the dependence of battery electric performance on overheating and not sufficient heating was presented in the paper. There are also included temperatures of battery’s particular components
