Twenty News group data sets [20] are used in the Experiments. For experimental results analysis evaluated using the Analytical SAS 9.0 Software is used.     Defeasible Logic to Model n-person Argumentation Game

    In multi-agent systems, an individual agent can pursue its own goals, which may conflict with those hold by other agents. To settle on a common goal for the group of agents, the argumentation/dialogue game provides a robust and flexible tool where an agent can send its explanation for its goal in order to convince other agents. In the setting that the number of agents is greater than two and they are equally trustful, it is not clear how to extend existing argumentation/dialogue frameworks to tackle conflicts from many agents. We propose to use the defeasible logic to model the n-person argumentation game and to use the majority rule as an additional preference mechanism to tackle conflicts between arguments from individual agents

    Development of cultivated and wild pomegranate mixed fruit jelly and its quality evaluation during storage

    The present study was undertaken for the development of jelly from cultivated and wild pomegranate fruit juice mix and its quality evaluation during storage of six months. A product with 55 % mixed fruit juice content (cultivated and wild pomegranate juice in 80:20 ratio) with 45 % sugar was found to be the best on the basis of sensory analysis of prepared jelly. Jelly could safely be stored for a period of half year under both the ambient and refrigerated conditions without much change in its various chemical attributes viz., total soluble solids (TSS), titratable acidity, ascorbic acid, anthocyanins, pectin, total phenolics and sensory quality characteristics viz., colour, texture, flavour and overall acceptability. However, the changes in the quality characteristics of the jelly were slower in refrigerated storage conditions as compared to ambient conditions. Under refrigerated conditions, changes in TSS from 67.00 to 67.36 0B,titratable acidity from 0.75 to 0.71%, ascorbic acid from 9.18 to 7.35 mg/100 g, anthocyanins from 11.34 to 10.17 mg/100 g and total phenols from 63.10 to 60.06 mg/100 g were observed after 6 months of storage. Both the packaging material viz., polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and glass jars were found suitable with comparatively slower changes occurring in glass jars under refrigerated conditions

    Instability in Soft Sensitive Clays

    Soft sensitive clays like quick clays are well known in Scandinavia and in some regions in Canada. The salt pore water of these marine clays has been leached out since last glaciations and left a brittle mineral structure. Slides in quick clays can be extremely disastrous, as in Verdal, Norway in 1893 or Rissa in 1978. The slides may be initiated by local overloading, river erosion or similar and can escalate in size in a retrogressive manner in which large volumes of clay finally may liquefy. Norwegian quick clay has a very low permeability and hence pore water pressure becomes a crucial parameter that can affect the stability of material. Failure in quick clay (with a post-peak strain softening behavior) is often associated with the development of shear bands, i.e. narrow zones of localized deformation, and the failure loads depend on the thickness of these shear bands. Plane strain compression tests were performed, at laboratory 3S, Grenoble France, to observe the formation and propagation of shear bands during undrained shearing. Biaxial plane strain tests were performed in quick clay having different sensitivity and local pore pressure variation throughout the test was monitored. Image analysis is done to detect shear band thickness and mode of failure. Further, usefulness of shear band analyses in landslide calculation using finite elements and consequence of such failure is also discussed numerically. A stability analysis of a quick clay slope is made to illustrate the progressive failure mechanism

    Exchange bias effect and intragranular magnetoresistance in Nd$_{0.84}Sr_{0.16}CoO_3

    Electrical transport properties as a function of magnetic field and time have been investigated in polycrystalline, Nd_{0.84}Sr_{0.16}CoO_3. A strong exchange bias (EB) effect is observed associated with the fairly large intragranular magnetoresistance (MR). The EB effect observed in the MR curve is compared with the EB effect manifested in magnetic hysteresis loop. Training effect, described as the decrease of EB effect when the sample is successively field-cycled at a particular temperature, has been observed in the shift of the MR curve. Training effect could be analysed by the successful models. The EB effect, MR and a considerable time dependence in MR are attributed to the intrinsic nanostructure giving rise to the varieties of magnetic interfaces in the grain interior
