Several basic errors appeared in an article recently published by Prunier et al. entitled, 'Some Properties of Xenon Liquid-Filled Nuclear Detectors'. The article describes an experiment to measure electronic phenomena in liquid xenon using single wire cylindrical chambers. The author here describes some errors made in their interpretation of their experimental observations
Flavor SU(3) breaking effects in the chiral unitary model for meson-baryon scatterings
We examine flavor SU(3) breaking effects on meson-baryon scattering
amplitudes in the chiral unitary model. It turns out that the SU(3) breaking,
which appears in the leading quark mass term in the chiral expansion, can not
explain the channel dependence of the subtraction parameters of the model,
which are crucial to reproduce the observed scattering amplitudes and resonance

Baryon polarization in low-energy unpolarized meson-baryon scattering
We compute the polarization of the final-state baryon, in its rest frame, in
low-energy meson--baryon scattering with unpolarized initial state, in
Unitarized BChPT. Free parameters are determined by fitting total and
differential cross-section data (and spin-asymmetry or polarization data if
available) for , and scattering. We also compare our
results with those of leading-order BChPT
The Statistical Evaluation of a Binary Test Based on Combined Samples
The statistical evaluation of the reliability of binary tests and inspections is a challenging endeavor. In this paper, we propose an approach for the common situation where the true condition of the inspected items is unobservable (“gold-standard unavailable”), the probabilities of false acceptance and false rejection vary across items, and rejections are relatively rare. Our approach fits a latent-variable model, where the variability in misclassification probabilities is driven by a continuous property of a part. To deal with the low prevalence of rejections, we propose sampling items from multiple sources. The performance and properties of the estimators are assessed using simulation, asymptotic approximations, and a real-life case at a car-parts manufacturer
