Light Front Quantisation of Gauge Theories in a Finite Volume
We discuss the light-front formulation of SU(2) Yang-Mills theory on a torus.
The gauge choice we use allows for an exact and unambiguous solution of Gauss's
law.Comment: 4 pages, Latex; talk presented at QCD 94, Montpellier, France, July

Chargino Production and Decay in Photon-Photon-Collisions
We discuss the pair production of charginos in collisions of polarized
photons , () and the
subsequent leptonic decay of the lighter chargino including the complete spin correlations.
Analytical formulae are given for the polarization and the spin-spin
correlations of the charginos. Since the production is a pure QED process the
decay dynamics can be studied separately. For high energy photons from Compton
backscattering of polarized laser pulses off polarized electron beams numerical
results are presented for the cross section, the angular distribution and the
forward-backward asymmetry of the decay positron. Finally we study the
dependence on the gaugino mass parameter and on the sneutrino mass for a
gaugino-like MSSM scenario.Comment: 22 pages, 15 figures, version to be published in Eur. Phys. J.
Zero-mode contribution to the light-front Hamiltonian of Yukawa type models
Light-front Hamiltonian for Yukawa type models is determined without the
framework of canonical light-front formalism. Special attention is given to the
contribution of zero modes.Comment: 14 pages, Latex, revised version with minor changes, Submitted to

Enhanced surface acoustic wave cell sorting by 3D microfluidic chip design
We demonstrate an acoustic wave driven microfluidic cell sorter that combines advantages of multilayer device fabrication with planar surface acoustic wave excitation. We harness the strong vertical component of the refracted acoustic wave to enhance cell actuation by using an asymmetric flow field to increase cell deflection. Precise control of the 3-dimensional flow is realized by topographical structures implemented on the top of the microchannel. We experimentally quantify the effect of the structure dimensions and acoustic parameter. The design attains cell sorting rates and purities approaching those of state of the art fluorescence-activated cell sorters with all the advantages of microfluidic cell sorting
Canonical formulation of the embedded theory of gravity equivalent to Einstein's General Relativity
We study the approach in which independent variables describing gravity are
functions of the space-time embedding into a flat space of higher dimension. We
formulate a canonical formalism for such a theory in a form, which requires
imposing additional constraints, which are a part of Einstein's equations. As a
result, we obtain a theory with an eight-parameter gauge symmetry. This theory
becomes equivalent to Einstein's general relativity either after partial gauge
fixing or after rewriting the metric in the form that is invariant under the
additional gauge transformations. We write the action for such a theory.Comment: LaTeX, 17 page
Two-dimensional magnetism in the pnictide superconductor parent material SrFeAsF probed by muon-spin relaxation
We report muon-spin relaxation measurements on SrFeAsF, which is the parent
compound of a newly discovered iron-arsenic-fluoride based series of
superconducting materials. We find that this material has very similar magnetic
properties to LaFeAsO, such as separated magnetic and structural transitions
(TN = 120 K, Ts = 175 K), contrasting with SrFe2As2 where they are coincident.
The muon oscillation frequencies fall away very sharply at TN, which suggests
that the magnetic exchange between the layers is weaker than in comparable
oxypnictide compounds. This is consistent with our specific heat measurements,
which find that the entropy change S = 0.05 J/mol/K largely occurs at the
structural transition and there is no anomaly at TN.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
