    Celem niniejszej pracy było przeprowadzenie testów sedymentacyjnych wybranych środków spożywczych - mielonych przypraw roślinnych i znalezienie środków zapobiegających sedymentacji podczas przechowywania gotowych produktów (sosów, dipów). Badano sedymentację czerwonej papryki mielonej oraz ziołowego pieprzu mielonego o wielkości cząstek od 400 do 500 (un w wodnych roztworach gumy arabskiej oraz gliceryny. Najlepszy wynik otrzymano dla roztworu gumy arabskiej o stężeniu 25%.The aim of this study was to perform sedimentation tests of selected foodstuff (such as ground vegetable spices), and to find methods preventing sedimentation during storage of finished products (sauces, dips). Sedimentation of ground red pepper and ground herb pepper of particle sizes from 400 to 500 microns in aqueous solutions of gum Arabic and glycerol was studied. The best result was obtained for gum Arabic solution at concentration of 25%

    The main goal formulated in the paper is to assess the value of the eye-tracking method described in section 2 for the purpose of improvement of information and communication technology (ICT) systems. The possible range of application of the method is described in section 4, which presents the chosen results of the study described in section 3. It concerns the proposal to improve the System Professionals project mentioned in section 1 which is available through the platform zawodowcy.org. The results of the study are helpful for people who will be responsible for the future training of users and communication with them during the project also described in section 1. The research has indicated the possibility of using eye-tracking measurements in improving ICT systems at least in the area of designing their functionality and user interfaces.Głównym celem sformułowanym w rozdziale jest ocena przydatności metody eye-tracking opisanej w punkcie 2, na potrzeby doskonalenia systemów informatycznych. Możliwy zakres zastosowania metody przedstawiono w punkcie 4, prezentując wyniki badań własnych, opisanych w punkcie 3. Dotyczą one propozycji doskonalenia Systemu Zawodowcy, przybliżonego w punkcie 1 dostępnego za pośrednictwem platformy zawodowcy.org. Uzyskane wyniki badań stanowią pomoc dla osób, które będą odpowiadać za szkolenie przyszłych użytkowników i komunikację z nimi w projekcie, o którym mowa również w punkcie 1.     Inhibition studies of Brucella suis β-carbonic anhydrases with a series of 4-substituted pyridine-3-sulphonamides

    The two β-carbonic anhydrases (CAs, EC 4.2.1.1) from the pathogenic bacterium Brucella suis, BsuCA1 and BsuCA2, were investigated for their inhibition profile with a series of pyridine-3-sulphonamide derivatives incorporating 4-hetaryl moieties. BsuCA1 was effectively inhibited by these sulphonamides with inhibition constants ranging between 34 and 624 nM. BsuCA2 was less sensitive to these inhibitors, with KIs in the range of 62 nM - > 10 µM. The nature of the 4-substituent present on the pyridine ring was the main factor influencing the inhibitory profile against both isoforms, with 4-halogenophenylpiperazin-1-yl and 3,4,5-trisubstituted-pyrazol-1-yl derivatives showing the most effective inhibition. Some of these sulphonamides were most effective bacterial CA than human (h) CA I and II inhibitors, making them selective for the prokaryotic enzymes. Investigation of bacterial CA inhibitors may be relevant for finding antibiotics with a new mechanism of action compared to the clinically used agents for which substantial drug resistance emerged
