Th is article aims at developing an analysis of the concept of reference in Ricœur.
Th is analysis supports the thesis that the concept of reference in Ricœur has a
hybrid character, because it relates two diff erent paradigms of the philosophy of
language. Reference is intended on the one hand, the way of the protagonists of
analytic philosophy, as a reference to something manifestly extra-linguistic. Th is
extra-linguistic exceeds, however, the status of literality, conceiving reference again
as determined by meaning, despite the particular role of the symbolic by which
Ricœur seeks to safeguard the extra-linguisticity of the non-literal reference.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Reading Cassirer's philosophy of myth: early signs of Heidegger's late philosoply?
The Mythical Thought) was published in the Deutsche Literaturzeitung. Cassirer's text date of 1925, hence it is possible that Heidegger had read it even before the publication of Being and Time. What makes both texts worthy of a closer examination is the fact that several central motifs and terms of Heidegger's later philosophy are already present in these two texts. Heidegger focuses particularly on Cassirer's reflections on the representation of mana (Mana-Vorstellung) in mythical thinking. This representation involves not only the distinction between the familiar and the unfamiliar, the 'uncanniness' or 'not-at-homeness' that befalls mightily the Dasein, but also the distinction between the sacred and the profane and that of the four world regions (Weltgegenden) and its organization in forn of a cross. Although not everything that Heidegger announces is interpretable as full awareness of the future impact of these traces, one would wonder if the density with which they appear would be mere accident. Thus, the article contributes to the debate on the issue of the emerging of Heidegger's late thought and its origins which can be traced back to the stage of genesis, or rather, the final draft of Being and Timeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
In this article I shall present some considerations about a topic that stems from the field of philosophy of
language and that permeates the philosophy of many great authors of the twentieth century: the
revolutionary power of language and, more specifically, of poetry and philosophy. In these authors, the
notion of revolutionary power is opposed to the notion of systemic power, the latter being generally
related to the power of language as a system (langue). I aim to show that the transposition of the dialectic
relationship between systemic power and individual revolutionary power, from the realms of poetry and
language to the realm of political thought, is not only possible within the framework of the discussed
theories, but also a productive approach.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
no domínio político.
Adorno's Aesthetic theory is interpreted as a model of thought with a very
peculiar feature which it has in common with other theories of modernity: that reason is
not able to overcome aporias which are necessarily and essentially inherent to her.
These aporias, dating back to a distinction made by Humboldt between systemic and
individual power, constitute a major challenge to the philosophy of modernity.
Combating the authors who, in one way or another, yielded to the temptation of diluting
the aporias referred (e.g. Heidegger), Adorno pointed out the necessity and the duty to
enduring the paradoxicality of human existence and the paradoxes inherent to the use of
reason. It is precisely this impetus that gives Adorno’s aesthetic theory the peculiarity of
a negative dialectic, apparent not only in strictly aesthetic areas, but also and especially
in the political field. The critics of the second and third generations of the Frankfurt
School itself (Habermas, Wellmer) defended a model of thought characterized by the primacy given to dialogue and communicative reason, which also goes back to
Humboldt. It is suggested that the conflict between the models of Adorno and Habermas
has not yet finished.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
A banalidade do mal e o seu superlativo
