Introduction of information technologies, transfer to the digital economy and the development e-commerce are on the agenda all over the world today. BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa) pay great attention to the development of e-commerce and plan to strengthen intra-group cooperation in this area. An increase of the e-commerce is a new paradigm of the development of international trade of the «five» countries. It can become their economic growth driver, especially during the crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic. This problem is important, but still insufficiently studied and not enough reflected in the economic researches. Authors revealed the advantages, problems and the main directions of the development of e-commerce in BRICS countries

The main direction of our research on building a digital economy includes the introduction of blockchain and cryptocurrency in the BRICS countries; advantages, obstacles, and prospects of the digital economy; the impact of robotization on the economic development of countries. The digital transformation of the economy of the BRICS group can be facilitated by the use of blockchain technology. The study identified the main advantages, threats and directions for the creation and use of a new cryptocurrency (BRICScoin) and blockchain technology by the BRICS countries. The digital economy is on the agenda around the world today, it is a new paradigm for the development of countries’ cooperation, and can become a driver of their economic growth. On the basis of the analysis, the advantages, obstacles and recommendations for the development of digital transformation in the BRICS countries were identified. Research in the development of robotics has revealed the benefits and challenges of this process. The use of a mathematical model made it possible to conclude that the growth of an existing fleet of industrial robots in the country affects the growth of its economy. The further development of robotics in the country will help increase its economic potential, product quality and export of innovative high-tech products

The study investigated the factors that influence the adoption of collaborative robots in the manufacturing sector in Russia from sociotechnical, organizational, and economic point of views. The study was driven by the increasing technological innovation in the manufacturing sector, especially in the use of robots and collaborative robot applications in daily manufacturing, flexibility, and operations activities. The study was a quantitative, descriptive survey that relied on primary data from respondents with varied experiences in the manufacturing sector in Russia. The study employed a total of 351 respondents selected for their insights into the application of robotics in the manufacturing process in Russia. The model adopted for the study was tested using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability, and validity analysis. The hypotheses of the study were evaluated using partial least-squares analysis. The results revealed that the adoption of collaborative robots was influenced by organizational factors and economic factors. Perceived performance improvement was significantly influenced by collaborative robot adoption and sociotechnical systems. The study recommended that the stakeholders in Russia’s manufacturing sector should improve their training, management support, perceived innovativeness, and prior experience to enhance the adoption of collaborative robots and flexibility in design

Digitalization processes affect all levels and spheres of human activities, from personal communications to public events. The widespread implementation of digital technologies has an ambiguous effect on the personal, social, and economic paths of modern society’s development. At the moment, there is no single approach to the estimation of digitalization’s impact, particularly on the financial and economic properties of a company. The objective of this study was to create multiple models for the assessment of digitalization’s impact on company performance. To accomplish this objective, the following steps were performed: conducting a literature survey on the experience with digital technologies’ implementation; selecting the most appropriate mathematical tools for correlation and regression analyses; determining a functional relationship between the factors and consequences of digitalization in terms of companies’ performance; identifying digitalization factors, risks, and their impact on the financial sustainability of companies; and creating a multiple regression model of the functional relationship between digitalization factors and the financial sustainability of companies. In the course of the study, a correlation analysis of the dependence of companies’ financial sustainability on a number of digitalization factors has been conducted, and different ways of using company performance data as effective features and predictive factors are offered. The article includes sampling data on the parameterization and quality evaluation of multiple regression models. The validity of the multiple models suggested was tested with actual statistical data obtained from 16 Russian companies. The application of the multiple regression model was devised to estimate digitalization’s impact on companies’ performance, and their financial sustainability can be seen as the most important practical implication of this study
