    Client with leprosy in community is one\u27s of at risk population who needed intervention and treatment for elimination this diseases for decreased dependently of lifes. One\u27s of intervention is modification behavior with contracting with the clients. These research want to identification that influences of modification behavior with contracting with self care client with their eyes, hands, and foots. The design that used was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. Samples are 18 client\u27s leprosy with simple random sampling method in Ajung Community Health Center of Jember. The results showed that have differences about self care that done client before and after intervention modification behavior therapy, so there was influences about modification behavior with contracting to self care client leprosy (p value 0,002). Client\u27s leprosy in their life with family and community needed motivation and supervision to caring self care their eyes, hand, and foots to prevent disability

    Ethnonursing for Utilizing Complementary Therapy at Using Tribes in Banyuwangi

    Introduction: Using Tribe in Banyuwangi until today still using natural resources as a traditional treatment or care. This study was purposed to gain value and meaning of Using Tribe experience for utilizing complementary therapies in traditional healing practice. Method: Phenomenology study with qualitative methods based on ethnonursing models was used for this research. There were 13 respondents gathered by purposive sampling from three districts: Glagah, Rogojampi and Banyuwangi Kota. The data were obtained by conducting in-depth interviews on respondents and field observations as well as observations while interview. The analysis carried out by sorting and selecting a word or phrase that has value and meaning to the goal related with sub-themes grouped into themes and categories. Result: The results had showed that Using Tribe\u27s characteristic were social cohesion, appreciate arts, performing daily activities on the river, consume foods of animal and vegetable, not too close with health service, the myth factor was a strong factor in health and physical maintenance\u27s behavior, the the use of herbs and shaman to treat health problems. Conclusion and discussion: The use of herbs is suitable with modern health science as a complementary therapy, but this point almost faded because it tends to rarely performed. So, the Using Tribe need positive reinforcement from nurses, as an effort to improve their health status

    Exploring Jember Community View in the Treatment of Mental Health Disorders with the Perspective of A Transcultural Nursing

    The problems of people with mental health disorders (PWMHD) include physical problems, psychological problems, and social problems. Jember Regency in 2018 had 514 new cases, and  Panti village was ranked first with 114 clients (22.1%) of the total cases in the Jember Regency. Community views accompanied by cultural background often prevent families with PWMHD from coming to the health center to seek care and management of health services. Negative public views on PWMHD will reduce PWMHD visits to seek treatment so that cases of drug withdrawal will increase. Nurses have an essential role in providing nursing care to clients with mental disorders. Without knowledge of the cultural viewpoints of the community, nurses will find it difficult to find strategies to reduce the occurrence of stigma and discrimination in PWMHD This study uses an ethnography study, qualitative approach, and descriptive design to explore and understand about the Jember community view in the treatment of mental disorders with a perspective of transcultural nursing. The technique of collecting data uses in-depth interviews with a semi-structured interview guide involving seven participants, and the data were analyzed using interpretive phenomenology analysis. This research has passed the ethical test with ethical approval No.595 / UN25.8 / KEPK / DL / 2019. This research conducted five themes. First is the family efforts to seek healing; the second theme is received trials from God; the third theme is community stigma to people with mental disorders; the fourth theme is community expectations for people with mental disorders, and the fifth theme is community acceptance of people with mental disorders. Considering the impact that will arise from this condition if it does not get proper treatment, it is needed the role of health workers in providing services to the family to be able to increase visits to health services in order to improve the recovery of people with mental disorders

    Model Perawatan Kesehatan Keselamatan Kerja Berbasis Agricultural Nursing: Studi Analisis Masalah Kesehatan Petani

    Introduction:The majority of Indonesian labor force at rural area works in the agricultural sector that risk for health problems related to the interaction of farmer and environment. It is necessary to approach health care safety based on primary health care for to prevent and reduce the risks of accidents or illness. This study identifies farmer\u27s health problem and their factors for developing occupational health nursing model-based agricultural nursing at rural area of Jember.Methods: A cross-sectional study of 169 farmers was done to investigate sociodemographic, lifestyles, environment of living and worked, health status and health problem. Data collected by the self-administered the questionnaire, physical assessment, and blood test. The descriptive and comparative analyses include chi-square tests and logistic and multinomial regression analyses were used to assess the relationships between factors to the presence of health problems. Results: There was differences between sociodemographic, environment of living and worked and the health problems of farmers (p<0.05). Almost 37.9% of farmers is an illness. Among 28.5% of underweight and 9.5% of overweight that related to age, drink of coffee, and excess day of work. 62.6% of anemia that related to gender and smoking habit. Meanwhile, 45.2% of systolic hypertension and 35.8% diastolic hypertension that caused by worked of overload. Furthermore, 50.3% of pain on joint and bone related to age and recess of worked.Discussion: The health problems of farmers were characterized by the nutritional problem, anemia, hypertension, and pain that related to the sociodemographic environment of biologic, psychologic, and worked. An agricultural nursing model could be developed for assessment of related factors that formulated diagnoses of health problems on farmers at rural area.     Stigma Against People with Severe Mental Disorder (PSMD) with Confinement “Pemasungan”

    &nbsp; Pasung adalah tindakan pengekangan atau pembatasan aktivitas secara fisik untuk mengendalikan Orang dengan Gangguan Jiwa (ODGJ) yang tidak terkontrol oleh masyarakat biasa atau non profesional. Masalah yang dijumpai pada ODGJ yang dipasung adalah stigma dari masyarakat. Stigma merupakan salah satu faktor penghambat dalam penyembuhan ODGJ. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran stigma masyarakat terhadap ODGJ yang dipasung. Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel 150 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner Community Attitudes toward the Mentally Ill. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 50.7 % masyarakat pro stigma sedangkan 49.3 % kontra stigma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masih terdapat stigma tentang ODGJ yang dipasung. Stigma terhadap ODGJ yang dipasung memiliki dampak negatif pada seluruh aspek kehidupan. ODGJ sering menjadi korban pada tindakan – tindakan kriminal, didiskriminasikan, dan dikucilkan. Pemasungan pada ODGJ dapat dicegah dan diatasi dengan melibatkan peran aktif semua pihak secara komprehensif. &nbsp; &nbsp; Kata kunci : Gangguan Jiwa, Pasung, Stigma. &nbsp

    Parenting Stress and Quality of Life of Special Need Chidren's Parents: A School Health Survey Among Disabled Children in Badean Bondowoso

    The family with special need children experience children's dependency behavior. This situations related to parenting stress which affected parental quality of life. The objective of this study was to examine the correlation characteristic of parents and parenting stress and parental quality of life among special need children's parents. A cross sectional study design conducted among 52 parents with special need children in School of Disabled Children in Badean Bondowoso. A self-administered questionnaire including the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF Indonesian version were used to assess parenting stress; and parental quality of life, respectively. Pearson Product Moment and Spearman Rank was performed to answer the objective of this study. The results showed that, there were no correlation between parenting stress and parental quality of life of special need children's parents (p &gt;0.05). However, length of disability correlated with parenting stress (r = 0.339; p = 0.014). Meanwhile; parent's gender (Z = -2.089; p = 0.037), special need children's gender (Z = -2.102; p = 0.036), and number of childrens (r = -0.297; p = 0.033) were correlated with parental quality of life. This study concluded that characteristic of parents and children with special needs correlated with parental quality of life. Therefore, adaptive parenting environment should implement to reduce parenting stress. &nbsp

    Hubungan Paparan Asap dengan Kejadian Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) pada Anak Usia 0-5 Tahun di Wilayah Pertanian Kecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember

    Background: Acute respiratory infections (ARI) in developing countries at the age of under five have a fairly high prevalence, which relates to air pollution at home, such smoke as firewood, cigarette and mosquito coils.Methods: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between smoke exposure of ARI in age child 0-5 year in agricultural area Panti District, Jember Regency. A case control study design was conducted among grup control 120 and case grup 120 of respondent using stratified random sampling. A self administered questionnaire was used to interview indoor air quality. Chi Square test was perform to analyze the relationship between smoke exposure of ARI.Result: The result identified as exposure to firewood smoke 63.3%, exposure to cigarette smoke 75.8% and exposure to smoke from mosquito coils 68.3%. There were significantly relationship between firewood (χ2 = 5.813; p-value = 0.016), exposure to cigarette smoke (χ2 = 9.094; p-value = 0.004), can immediately bring mosquito coils (χ2 = 4.929; p-value = 0.037). Smoke exposure is relationship with ARI in age child 0-5 year.Conclusion : Therefore, efforts to ARI can be prevented by family who maintain air quality at home
