Caracterización de los adultos mayores asistidos en el Hospital Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña” de Guayaquil. Julio a diciembre de 2012

Pdf.Se realizó una investigación exploratoria, descriptiva y transversal; con diseño no experimental, para caracterizar a los adultos mayores asistidos en el Hospital “Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña” de Guayaquil, entre el 1ro de junio y el 31 de diciembre de 2012. La muestra de estudio fue 430 hombres y 320 mujeres, y se caracterizó por un predominio del subgrupo de 65 a 69 años con 602 integrantes (80,27% [356 hombres y 246 mujeres]); de la raza mestiza con 501 (66,8% [291 hombres y 210 mujeres]), del estado civil de matrimonio en 318 (42,4% [137 hombres y 181 mujeres]); de no tener ningún nivel de instrucción reconocido en 409 (54,53% [204 hombres y 205 mujeres] y de ingresos económicos mensuales de hasta $250 USD en un 94,53PALABRAS CLAVE: ADULTOS MAYORES, CARACTERIZACIÓN, EVALUACIÓN NUTRICIONAL, ENFERMEDADES CRÓNICAS TRASMISIBLES Y NO TRASMISIBLES, PROPUESTA DE INTERVENCIÓN.An exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional survey was conducted with non-experimental design to characterize the elderly people treated in the Hospital "Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña "of Guayaquil, between June 1st to December 31, 2012. The study sample was 430 men and 320 women, and was characterized by a predominance of subgroup of 65-69 years with 602 members (80 , 27$ 250 in 94.53% (408 men and 301 women). Nutritionally the 57.33 % of men and 42.67% of women rated as normoweight, 4.8% as malnourished by default (22 men and 14 women), and 7.87% as malnourished excess (30 men and 29 women). In relation to non-communicable chronic diseases, 50.8% evidenced arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus 37.07%; secondly in communicable chronic diseases showed 2% affected by TB and 10.13% by HIV-AIDS.
