    The purpose of this research is to describe the function of the headmaster as educator, manager, leader, motivator, and supervisor. This study used the qualitative descriptive method.The echniques for collecting the data were interview, observation, and documentation. The result of this study showed that the headmaster had done the function as educator, manager, leader,motivator, and supervisor to increase the teachers performance,but still not optimal. The suggestion for the education Deapartmen ton give the chance for the headmaster and teachers to increase their professional skill in forward the education world

    The objective of this researchis to develop a non-graded education model Inthis model, curriculum materials are adapted into sequentially arranged materials.Students aregrouped on the bases of their ages, it is possible to have a variety oflearning materialsand a variety of learning activities within one classroom at thesame time. An individual mastery learning approach is implemented. The locationof researchwas in the town of Surakarta. The initial activity was adapting theexisting curriculum materials into sequential learning units.The non~gradedmodelwas tried out in grade 1 of SO Al Firdaus with 62 students (parallel classes).Research results indicate: I)The initial levelsof competence of students in aclassroom are heterogeneous.2) In terms of language and sequence of materials,theadapted curriculum package was rated as excellent, but in appropriateness tothe levels of development, a few materials for lower gradesneed to be revised. 3)Teachers and parents agreed on the heterogeneity of classes in schools, butdisagreed on the feasibility of multilevel curriculum materials and multi-modalityof learning. Thetwo groups also agreed on the low competence of teachers inteaching non-graded classrooms. 4) After one year in progress, the non-gradedmodel showed beneficial for fast and slow learner

    This study id the first of three year project trying to develop a model of educating gifted students in regular schools. The sample consisted of first year gifted students in State Senior High Schools (SMUN) in Boyolali and Karanganyar. In the first phases, teachers were asked to nominate approximately the best 10% of their students who were then validated by intelligence and creativity test. The researchers also collected data of the students\u27 scores in secondary schools examination and administered The Learning Style Inventory. The result of the study showed positive correlations between inteligence, secondary school achievement, and creativity. Data on students\u27 learning preferences were also obtained. Giftedness was then determined based on their scores on creativity and intelligence tests, i.e. those who scored at least 1 SD above the mean in creativity test and had at least a percentile rank of 90 in intelligence test

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1). Mendeskripsikan karakteristik perencanaan prakerindi SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo, (2). Mendiskripsikan karakteristik pelaksanaanPrakerin di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo, (3). Mendiskripsikan karakteristikpenilaian Prakerin di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. Jenis penelitian ini adalahpenelitian kualitatif dengan desain diskriptif. Nara sumber dalam penelitian adalahkepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, ketua pokja prakerin , kepala program keahlian,guru produktif dan pimpinan industri. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observasi,wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian adalah (1).Perencanaan prakerin meliputi : pemetaan industri, program prakerin, waktu prakerin, pembekalan prakerin, dan penetapan guru pembimbing, (2).Pelaksanaan prakerin meliputi pengorganisasian, penyerahan siswa prakerin ke industri, monitoring siswa prakerin, dan penarikan siswa prakerin ke Sekolah. (3). Penilaian prakerin ada dua tahap, yaitu penilaian oleh pembimbing industri dan pembimbing Sekolah dengan parameter nilai dari industri (IN) diberi bobot 60 %, nilai jurnal prakerin (JP) diberi bobot 10 %, nilai ujian lisan (UL) diberi bobot 20 %, dan nilai laporan (LP) diberi bobot 10 %. Sehingga nilai total hasil prakerin siswa adalah : 0,6 (IN) + 0,1(JP) + 0,2 (LP) +0,1 (LP)

    The main purpose of this article is to discuss the importance of error analysis in the teaching of English as a foreign language. Although errors are bad things in learning English as a foreign language%2C error analysis is advantageous for both learners and teachers. For learners%2C error analysis is needed to show them in what aspect in grammar which is difficult for them%2C where as for teachers%2C it is required to evaluate themselves whether they are successful or not in teaching English.%0D%0AIn this article%2C the writer presented some English sentences containing grammatical errors. These grammatical errors were analyzed based on the theories presented by the linguists. This analysis aimed at showing the students the causes and kinds of the grammatical errors. By this way%2C the students are expected to increase their knowledge on the English grammar.
