The popularity of the digital media and the availability of a borderless world of communication networks have formed a new environment, supported by the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Along with the Malaysian government’s Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) projects announcement, A National Communication and Multimedia Policy was introduced, as to encourage the development of industry self-regulatory mechanisms with minimize the costs of regulation while at the same time providing clear guidelines for industry behavior in line with Government policy objectives by implementing the industry voluntary codes of practice. This study identified to what extend the “Self-Regulatory” mechanism for the local media players would benefit the industry and the growth of future media technologies in this country, and the key issues and problems faced by Malaysian Media environment in its attempt to proactively respond to the winds of change breezing through media convergence technology policies and legislations. The study found that there has been an important relationship between the regulators, media industry, and public interest upon the implementation of media self-regulation in Malaysia. The challenges faced by the government and media players upon broadcast and new media content had become a discourse for the both parties to implement best practices of self-regulatory mechanism which allows the self-management of information dissemination for the public and industry interests, and as to ensure to perverse the national identity and cultures

A quick glance: The ugly truth of radio migration in Malaysia

With the advent of television, radio lost its dominant position in many countries due to globalisation and convergence, leading to the rise of digitalisation. However, digitalisation has overshadowed traditional analogue technology. Instead of coexisting, analogue and digital technologies are now in direct competition, with digital alternatives such as podcasts and online radio posing significant challenges to analogue technology. As a result, the radio industry is currently facing severe problems to stay relevant. We conducted a study examining political economy influencing radio migration in Malaysia along with its relationship to government actions and plans. Our research reveals that the political economy perspective strongly impacts radio migration in the country. To ensure a successful radio migration, we propose the implementation of a neo-liberal perspective within Malaysia's broadcasting sector

Enhancing the Security of Software Defined Mobile Networks (SDMN) based on Blockchain Technology

The blockchain involves future developments and new technologies. The emergence of a blockchain is a challenge for the conventional social organization and mode of activity. Data latency and mobile network capacity would no longer be a limitation for mobile users in next-generation networks of Software Defined Mobile Networks (SDMN). But there are many benefits to Software Defined Mobile Networking, it also contributes to certain security problems like DDoS / DoS attacks, unauthorized access, and single data point error. To enhance the security and privacy of the SDMN control plane, this paper proposes a new SDMN-based “Simplified Byzantine Fault Tolerance (SBFT)” algorithm to send signals between controllers and also set up an analysis study to investigate SBFT's security and results. However, there are many benefits of Software Defined Mobile Networking (SDMN), and then it helps to resolve other security concerns including DDoS / DoS attacks, unauthorized access, and single point failure. Blockchain, an evolving revolutionary technology, will offer creative approaches to address security issues in Software-Defined Mobile networks in an efficient way. This study proposes an SDMN-based Simplified Byzantine Fault Tolerance (SBFT) for enhancing the mobile network's security and privacy

Visualization for Emotion Detection in Mobile-Based Land Monitoring Using User-Centred Design

Many colleges employ online learning as media learning where each piece of multimedia, be it sound, film, or text, can receive feedback from students. The lecture wants to know about the emotions that students experienced when they accessed the media, such as happiness, disappointment, or unhappiness, and instructors want to know how joyful they felt. This study built a tool cell for online media to use in identifying emotions in column comments. This paper focuses on user experience (UX) design, which is based on the Human-Centred Design method that prioritizes empathy for users and focuses on user demands to meet the discovery of user wants and develop high-fidelity prototypes. The results of the testing show that the average accuracy is 1.68%, the average recall is 1.55, the average precision is 1.45, and the average accuracy for the use of this phone website is 80% for emotion recognition based only on a column of comment in the internet media
