    LANGUAGE EMPLOYMENT IN CHILDREN OF TWO YEARS OLD IN MATARAM, WEST NUSA TENGGARA BARAT

    This research aims to describe language acquisition in children age 2 years especially in the realm of syntax at PAUD Santa Maria Mataram City. This research is synchronic research used the qualitative method which was descriptive method. The subject of this research was the children age 2 years at PAUD Santa Maria and the object of this research was language acquisition which was the acquisition of declarative, interrogative, and imperative.  The data was collected by simak libat baca technique and simak libat catat.  After the data was analyzed, the data was classified into the acquisition of declarative, interrogative, and imperative. Based on the data analysis that has done, found language acquisition of children age two years from April to May were 54 declaratives, 18 imperatives, and 13 interrogatives. The result of this study also shows that the children age 2 years are more likely used declarative sentences than interrogative and imperative in the daily conversation

    Abstract Banjar Tegal Gundul as tourist villages in the province of Bali, which visits by foreign and domestic tourists. Every years the number of foreign and domestic tourists to the Banjar Tegal Bald is increases. This situation makes the tourism sector as the main livelihood of local people. That's condition become the background of this research, they are: 1) to understand how to influence tourist entities to the English language skills of local people in Banjal Tegal Gundul and 2) how language attitude of local society towards English. The research uses the method of observation and questionnaire submitted to 24 respondents, who are local people as workers and business owners in the area. This study is found that the language functions used by local people to communicate with foreign tourists is: Greetings, Offering, asking for information, giving information, Saying Like, Giving an opinion, persuading, asking someone to do something, Accepting invitations, apologizing, persuading, and saying / returning thanks. The sentences are used in grammatical rules in English. The language attitudes towards English seen from the cogBanjar Tegal Gundul is one of the tourist villages in the village area of ​​Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung, Bali, which receives visits by foreign and domestic tourists. The results obtained in this study indicate that local people are able to communicate with foreign tourists, by using language functions such as: Greeting, Offering, asking for information, giving information, Saying Like, Giving opinion, persuading, asking someone to do something, Accepting invitation, apologizing, persuading, and saying / reply to thank. The sentences are used in accordance with grammatical rules in English. For language attitudes towards English seen from the cognitive, affective and conative components, showing positive language attitudes by local people towards English. That is because the equality of local people's thought orientation will benefit from English, for the livelihoods of local people, both in terms of workers or business owners in the Banjar Tegal Gundul region

    Traditional ceremonies are part of the culture and traditions of the Tibubeneng village community and are also related to the activities of the Hinduism. In the implementation of customs there are rules and prerequisites that must exist, one of which is traditional food. This study aims to find out the function and existence of a food in the traditional ceremony of the Tibubeneng tourism village community. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. The ethnographic method is used by researchers to analyze the function and meaning of traditional foods used in traditional ceremonies, judging from the current form of performance whether there is a difference with a requirement in the rules of a traditional ceremony. To analyze activities, activities, meaning of traditional food used in traditional ceremonies, researchers will conduct in-depth interviews with the Bendesa adat, Pemangku adat and Stakeholders. There are 8 types of food that must be present in the Pawiwahan event, namely: Sambal embe, satay, lawar, Jukut, tum, urab, be'urutan, betutu. Every food that must be served as the main staple food in the Pawiwahan ceremony has meaning and is believed to be a category. prayer for the bride and groom when entering domestic life. These foods are also categorized as sacred/holy foods, because they are used as offerings/bantens in religious ceremonies or customs of the Balinese ethnic community. Along with the rate of population growth in Tibubeneng Village, many immigrants from various ethnicities and religions settled in Tibubeneng village, influencing the original culinary culture of the Tibubeneng village community. However, the strong application of awig-awig by the surrounding community is able to maintain the indexicality of traditional foods that must be present in the Pawiwahan ceremony. &nbsp

In fact, computational computing does not teach how to use computers or things that are always related to but the thought processes used to support problem science in all disciplines, mathematics, science, social studies, and languages, in this case the socialization of CT in learning English and Indonesian. The results showed that the use of personal deixis was used more in the three songs, compared to temporal deixis and spatial deixis.     This service activity aims to contribute knowledge to teachers to be able to understand and implement computational thinking in the subjects they are taught. The lack of trained personnel and the lack of understanding in implementing computational thinking gives the Bebras Bureau the opportunity to contribute. This is in line with Mendikbud's desire to implement computational thinking in the children's education curriculum as a provision for more innovative learning to answer the needs of the industrial era 4.0. Computational thinking is the process of thinking in formulating a problem and its solution so that the solution can be represented in a form that can be executed by an information-processing agent. The implementation of the service was carried out on the Mathematics subject teacher at Nurul Islam Mataram Elementary School. The implementation stages consist of planning, preparation, socialization, training, and evaluation. The results of the evaluation showed that most of the teacher participants agreed to apply the results of the training to students and most participants agreed to join the follow-up programs from Bebras. It is hoped that this activity can run continuously and be supported positively by the parties involved

    This study aims to analyze the types of refusal politeness strategies used by or towards the main characters in ‘It Starts with Us’ a novel that was published in late 2022 by Colleen Hoover, which was a sequel for the previous book by the same author titled ‘It Ends with Us’. To reveal the refusal politeness strategies, the researcher decided to use the politeness theory by Brown and Levinson (1987), and the data were then analyzed by using qualitative descriptive. The result of this research were the 9 data , which contained the refusal politeness strategies. All nine of the data mentioned in this study are direct refusal,with predominantly positive politeness strategies, with six of nine data being positive politeness strategies, but the variety employed varied. The remaining three data were negative politeness strategies, which is composed of two indirect strategies and an apology

    The current issue of research is aimed at finding the forms and function of code-switching by the lecturers of Computer science, and management. The appropriate method used in this research is qualitative by involving two approaches: linguistic constraints and sociolinguistic functions. The data were taken through observation and interview. The findings indicate that the linguistic constraints used by the lecturers are mostly imperative sentence in the form of the words, phrases, and sentences, the functions are as the warning and commanding. While quotations in the forms of words, and phrases which function as actualizing the terms used in the book and article to ease the students to comprehend. The linguistic function found was the speech from lecturer to students in classroom whilst teaching to ease the comprehensions of the students.     The Language Attitudes of the Member of Aristocracy of Mambalan Village towards High Sasak Language

    Noblemen, generally, appreciate their own language as social status in a community. However, Noblemen in Mambalan village have different attitude toward their language. This research aims at finding out the attitude of noblemen in Mambalan village towards their own language. It implements qualitative methods to explain the results of the research. Data are collected via questionnaire which are given to the selected informants; they are about 50 informants with age range between 21-50. The questionnaire is divided into two parts; the first questionnaire aims at confirming their social status and the second questionnaire relates to the language they use in daily communication. The results show that the noblemen of Mambalan village have negative attitudes toward the high Sasak language. This negative attitude induces a gradual decrease in the existing values which eventually influence the pride of the member of the aristocracy of Mambalan village to use high Sasak language. A predominant example of this decreasing value is apparent in their preference for utilization of Bahasa Indonesia and low Sasak language rather than the use of high Sasak language. They regard Bahasa Indonesia and low Sasak language to be more prestigious than high Sasak language and consider it as the appropriate tool of communication in their daily interaction and social communication

    The linguistic situation a group of people is influenced by linguistic aspects and context. This research was conducted to see the Balinese speakers' diglossia, among teens of Balinese and the factors that influence the situation. Ethnic Balinese in the city of Mataram, have the ability to speak Balinese (B1), Sasak (B2) and Indonesian (B3). Teens of Balinese in Mataram have a high mobility, interacting with various speech partners with different backgrounds and domains. That affects the choice of language based on domain factors, participant, speech event and topic. This situation is interesting topic to study using the Sociolinguistic studies. This study identifies the factors that influence the choice of language by Balinese speakers, especially teens of Balinese in a speech event in a particular domain. This research is a qualitative study used the data were collected using the methods and techniques: Survey, interview and observation. The sample used was 30 teens of Balinese aged 18-25 years who lived in the city of Mataram. The findings out the research revealed. First: the language situation of Balinese speakers of Mataram city becomes the background there is a process of language choice B1, B2 or B3. Second: This study conducted observations in four domains: family, friendship, education and vogue. Third: This research finding three main factors as influencing the choice of speakers' language in social interactions : (1) time and place; (2) participans in the interaction, (3) and topic in the speech event
