    Superconducting phase diagram of the filled skuterrudite PrOs4Sb12

    We present new measurements of the specific heat of the heavy fermion superconductor PrOs4Sb12, on a sample which exhibits two sharp distinct anomalies at Tc1= 1.89K and Tc2= 1.72K. They are used to draw a precise magnetic field-temperature superconducting phase diagram of PrOs4Sb12 down to 350 mK. We discuss the superconducting phase diagram of PrOs4Sb12 and its possible relation with an unconventional superconducting order parameter. We give a detailed analysis of Hc2(T), which shows paramagnetic limitation (a support for even parity pairing) and multiband effects

    Anomalous Anisotropic Magnetoresistance in Heavy-Fermion PrFe4P12

    We have investigated the anisotropy of the magnetoresistance in the Pr-based HF compound PrFe4P12. The large anisotropy of effective mass and its strong field dependence have been confirmed by resistivity measurements. Particularly for H||[111], where the effective mass is most strongly enhanced, the non-Fermi liquid behavior has been observed. Also, we have found the angular dependence of the magnetoresistance sharply enhanced at H||[111], which is evidently correlated with both the non-Fermi liquid behavior and the high-field ordered state (B-phase).Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures.     Evolution of superconducting order in Pr(Os1−x_{1-x}Rux_{x})4_{4}Sb12_{12}

    We report measurements of the magnetic penetration depth λ\lambda in single crystals of Pr(Os1−x_{1-x}Rux_{x})4_{4}Sb12_{12} down to 0.1 K. Both λ\lambda and superfluid density ρs\rho_{s} exhibit an exponential behavior for the xx≄\geq0.4 samples, going from weak (xx=0.4,0.6), to moderate, coupling (xx=0.8). For the xx≀\leq0.2 samples, both λ\lambda and ρs\rho_{s} vary as T2T^{2} at low temperatures, but ρs\rho_{s} is s-wave-like at intermediate to high temperatures. Our data are consistent with a three-phase scenario, where a fully-gapped phase at Tc1T_{c1} undergoes two transitions: first to an unconventional phase at Tc2T_{c2}â‰Č\lesssimTc1T_{c1}, then to a nodal low-TT phase at Tc3T_{c3}<<Tc2T_{c2}, for small values of xx.Comment: Changed title, enlarged numbering in figures 5 pages, 4 figures, 1 tabl

    High magnetic field phase diagram of PrOs4Sb12

    The magnetic phase diagram of PrOs4_4Sb12_{12} has been investigated by specific heat measurements between 8 and 32 T. A new Schottky anomaly due to excitations between two lowest crystalline-electric-field (CEF) singlets, has been found for both H∄(100)H \parallel (100) and H∄(110)H \parallel (110) above the field where the field-induced ordered phase (FIOP) is suppressed. The constructed H−TH-T phase diagram shows weak magnetic anisotropy and implies a crossing of the two CEF levels at about 8 - 9 T for both field directions. These results provide an unambiguous evidence for the Γ1\Gamma_1 singlet being the CEF ground state and suggest the level crossing (involving lowest CEF levels) as the driving mechanism of FIOP.Comment: Submitted to Phys. During each of these episodes, annual real per capita global GDP contracted, and this contraction was accompanied by weakening of other key indicators of global economic activity. The global recessions were highly synchronized internationally, with severe economic and financial disruptions in many countries around the world. The 2009 global recession, set off by the global financial crisis, was by far the deepest and most synchronized of the four recessions. As the epicenter of the crisis, advanced economies felt the brunt of the recession. The subsequent expansion has been the weakest in the post-war period in advanced economies as many of them have struggled to overcome the legacies of the crisis. In contrast, most emerging market and developing economies weathered the 2009 global recession relatively well and delivered a stronger recovery than after previous global recession
