    Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma

    Get PDF
Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a relatively uncommon gingival growth that is considered to be reactive in nature and postulated to appear secondary to irritation or trauma. They usually occur in young adults with a female predominance and are solitary in nature. We report a case of peripheral ossifying fibroma in a 55-year old femal

Gauging CSO groups in N=4 Supergravity

    Get PDF
We investigate a class of CSO-gaugings of N=4 supergravity coupled to six vector multiplets. Using the CSO-gaugings we do not find a vacuum that is stable against all scalar perturbations at the point where the matter fields are turned off. However, at this point we do find a stable cosmological scaling solution.Comment: 21 page

Group Manifold Reduction of Dual N=1 d=10 Supergravity

    Get PDF
We perform a group manifold reduction of the dual version of N=1 d=10 supergravity to four dimensions. The effects of the 3- and 4-form gauge fields in the resulting gauged N=4 d=4 supergravity are studied in particular. The example of the group manifold SU(2)xSU(2) is worked out in detail, and we compare for this case the four-dimensional scalar potential with gauged N=4 supergravity.Comment: 22 pages, revised section 3, typos corrected. Image segmentation plays a major role and an important role in the medical field due to its variety of applications especially in Brain tumor analysis. Brain tumor is an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells. It takes up space within the skull. It can compress, shift and harm healthy brain tissue and nerves. Also usually it obstruct with normal brain function. Tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous), can happen in different parts of the brain. Brain tumor classification and identification from Magnetic Resonance (MR) data is an essential. But it takes time and manual task completed by medical specialists. Computerizing this task is a challenging because of the high variety in the look of tumor tissues among different patients and in many cases similarity with the normal tissues. In this work, brain tumor image has been segmented using proposed Gustafson-Kessel (G-K) fuzzy clustering algorithm. The performance of G-K segmentation method is compared with those of watershed and FCM algorithms

    Get PDF
This paper gives a review of energy scenario in India and other countries. Today’s demand of the world is to minimize greenhouse gas emissions, during the production of electricity. Henceforth over the world, the production of electrical power is changing by introducing abundantly available renewable energy sources like sun and wind. But, because of the intermittent nature of sustainable power sources, the electrical power network faces many problems, during the transmission and distribution of electricity. For resolving these issues, Electrical Energy Storage (EES) is acknowledged as supporting technology. This paper discusses about the world electrical energy scenario with top renowned developed countries in power generation and consumption. Contribution of traditional power sources changed after the introduction of renewable energy sources like sun and wind. Worldwide Agencies are formed like International Energy Agency (IEA), The Central Intelligence Agency, (CIS) etc. The main aim of these agencies is to provide reliable, affordable and clean energy. This paper will discuss about the regulatory authority and government policies/incentives taken by different countries.  At the end of this paper, author focuses on obstacles in implementation, development and benefits of renewable energy

Giant magnetoelectric effect in pure manganite-manganite heterostructures

Obtaining strong magnetoelectric couplings in bulk materials and heterostructures is an ongoing challenge. We demonstrate that manganite heterostructures of the form (Insulator)/(LaMnO3)n/(CaMnO3)n/(Insulator){\rm (Insulator)/(LaMnO_3)_n/(CaMnO_3)_n/(Insulator)} show strong multiferroicity in magnetic manganites where ferroelectric polarization is realized by charges leaking from LaMnO3{\rm LaMnO_3} to CaMnO3{\rm CaMnO_3} due to repulsion. Here, an effective nearest-neighbor electron-electron (electron-hole) repulsion (attraction) is generated by cooperative electron-phonon interaction. Double exchange, when a particle virtually hops to its unoccupied neighboring site and back, produces magnetic polarons that polarize antiferromagnetic regions. Thus a striking giant magnetoelectric effect ensues when an external electrical field enhances the electron leakage across the interface.Comment: 13 page

Objective: The aim of this work was to develop and validate a simple Reversed Phase - High Performance Liquid Chromatography method for the simultaneous estimation of Sertraline and Doxofylline in pharmaceutical dosage form. Methods: The mobile phase consists of Phosphate buffer and Acetonitrile in the ratio of (30:70) with gradiant programming, Kromasil C18(150×4.6 mm,5µ) column used as stationary phase with a flow rate of 1 ml/min, injection volume 10 µl and the run time was 7 min. Detection wavelength was at 234 nm by using Photo Diode Array detector. Results: The retention times of Doxofylline and Sertraline retention were found to be 2.82 min and 3.93 min, respectively. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines. Validation parameters like accuracy, precision, linearity, range, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness all were within the limits. The linearity responses of Doxofylline and Sertraline were found to be in the concentration ranges of 100-600 ppm and 12.5-75 ppm. The percentage recovery for both drugs were found in the range of 99-100%. The LOD & LOQ values for Doxofylline were found to be 0.58 and 1.77µg/ml and Sertraline were found to be 0.27 and 0.82 µg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: The results obtained are accurate and within the limits. Hence this method can be applicable for the estimation of Doxofylline and Sertraline in pharmaceutical dosage forms.Â

Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of the Antibacterial Activity of Allophylus serratus

    Get PDF
Allophylus serratus mediated silver nanoparticles biosynthesis, characterization, and antimicrobial activity were described. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was confirmed by visual observation: UV-Vis spectrum, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), and Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR). UV-Vis spectroscopy studies showed that the absorption spectra of synthesized silver nanoparticles from leaf and callus extracts had absorbance peak range of 440 nm and 445 nm, respectively. The X-RD pattern revealed the presence of crystalline, dominantly spherical silver nanoparticles in the sample having size ranging from 42 to 50 nm. The XRD peaks 38.2°, 44.1°, 64.1°, and 77.0° for leaf extract and 38.1°, 44.3°, 64.5°, 77.5°, and 81.33° for callus extract can be assigned the plane of silver crystals (111), (200), (220), and (311), respectively, and indicate that the silver nanoparticles are face-centered, cubic, and crystalline in nature. SEM and EDS analysis also confirmed the presence of silver nanoparticles. The FTIR results showed the presence of some biomolecules in extracts that act as reducing and capping agent for silver nanoparticles biosynthesis. The synthesized silver nanoparticles showed significant antibacterial activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
